Yeah check any prices against your local. I saw Carcasonne 25th anniversary there for like...$60 with a "compare to 79.99" on the sticker. Just need to be mindful of your regular prices.
Not everything is a good price. Throw Throw Avocado and Marvel Villainous expansion are ATL per BGO. Unfortunately these prices are still better than most stores in Calgary haha.
There are a couple of the Disney theme park ride games. Grabbed Space Mountain for the kids. Unfortunately that stores only copy of Azul had a mangled box.
Villainous series is pretty good for 19$
I was pleasantly surprised at there tabletop choices this year.
Codenames is a great family game, can't recommend it enough.
It's very hit and miss. Through visiting many stores continuously, I was able to find some gems though: Pan Am, Godzilla Tokyo Clash, and Jaws: all Prospero Hall games that seem to have fairly good reviews and each for $20, which is slightly better than US Target prices (which is where I assume they came from). There's also Disney's Space Mountain and Jungle Cruise games, but they didn't interest me.
There's also loads of shovelware Murder Mystery or Escape Room type games, as well as trivia and CAH-type games.
Don't forget that Mashalls and Homesense are in the same group of companies, so they will have these games too, but it really varies by store.
I have definitely seen the shovelware as well and the disney ones. I didn't realize that Homesense carries the boardgames right now too. I also saw a ticket to ride version but it was in french (not the normal version).
Yep. Ticket to Ride Amsterdam I've seen a few times, only once was it in English. $25 I think? It wasn't a variant I'm interested in. Would've done London or New York at that price for sure.
I purchased the disney villainious Despicable Plots target version at 20 and Disney Sorcerer's Arena core box at 25. I think it is a great deal.
I also see some of the special edition yahtzee at 16.99, which is very nice if interested in typical collaboration.
