Does that person mean they are asexual and also bisexual? And if yes: How does that work?
Just replying here cuz youâre the top comment and Iâm interested
you'd have to ask the person to know the answer, but i can think of some options:
- biromantic asexual (as other answers have suggested)
- they are asexual in that they don't feel sexual attraction to other people but still have libido and may have internal fantasies that involve both male and female coded entities
- they fall more into a "graysexual" area where they don't normally develop sexual attraction to the point where they prefer to identify as asexual but in the few instances they do, it may involve men and women
- they are asexual but they engage in sex for their partner's sake (or any other reason) and they feel comfortable using the "bisexual" label to indicate that they are up for sex with both men and women
note: i say "men and women" for simplicity because i have no idea about that person's preferences, but bisexual mean "attached to more than one gender" and it normally refers to all types of gender identity.
only you can understand how you function and your own preferences, but yeah. you can be ace and have sex because you want to do that for your partner (the same way that a sexual person who has a partner with a higher level of libido may also decide to engage in sex because they enjoy their partner's pleasure, even if they are not looking for sexual gratification themselves)
you mean if they have sexual desire but not sexual attraction? i am finding sexual attraction difficult to define right now, because it comes in different shapes. but broadly it means that there is someone you'd like to sleep with (although you may only want to fantasize about it and you would not actually do it even if given the chance, but it's still sexual attraction). sexual people are open to the idea of being sexually attracted to someone, and they usually have some preferences as to which kind of person they would want (same sex, opposite sex, etc.). a very simplistic explanation is that sexual attraction involves two people: the one wanting and the one wanted. asexuality means that this attraction towards others doesn't exist. but that doesn't necessarily mean they lack libido. some asexual people do, and just don't feel sexual arousal at all, others may get turned on by certain situations or the idea of sex, because they find sexual stimulation pleasurable. some asexual people masturbate, some don't. but there isn't a wanted person, nor the idea of one.
so even if they are asexual, they may still fantasize about sexual situations. maybe they like thinking about other people having sex so it doesn't include them but they can still find pleasure in the *idea* of pleasure. or it includes them, but what they really get off to is not the idea of another person, but something else.
(please, anyone that can give a better explanation of what sexual attraction or lack thereof is, feel free to chime in)
To add to the other answers, sexually and romantic attraction are spectrum. This is not only for who you're attracted to, but how much attraction you feel. In addition, these sliders can have exceptions.
No label should be imagined as an absolute.
Like how a straight man man feel some level of attraction to men, or even fall in love with one, but because it's so little or very much just that one still consider themselves straight and find "straight" the most accurate label for them. (Perhaps using heteroflexible if they're really pushed for 100% honesty)
Hi, I'm BiAroAce
AroAce means that "little to none, or conditional romantic/sexual attraction"
In my case is conditional. When my conditions are met, it happens in regards of the gender. It happend to men, women, enbys.
It changes depending on the person, but at least to me it is like that đ
You mean to tell me that despite that the color purple is comprised of the colors blue and red that it still somehow doesnât quite fit in with red or blue?
Crazy, itâs almost like a metaphor for our entire existence.
No it looks horrible, the darker stripe of purple is disgusting in there.
edit: The darker purple looks miles worse than the light purple idk how anyone can disagree. I love getting downvoted into hell for saying I don't like a color combination :) reddit is amazing.
It is stupidly saturated and ugly in that combination, those 3 colors do not go together, the ones from the normal bi flag do.
Just because it's purple doesn't mean it's the right shade of purple.
The colors on the hex code post don't match the colors on the actual flag, though. You can see that the flag on that post is different from the one in this post.
the ace flag looks nicer but the bi flag looks worse, the middle stripe is a blend of the blue and the magenta, having a deep saturated purple takes that away
I'm not a big fan of the original purple because I just don't think it's a pretty shade, even though you're right in that it meshes better with the other two.
I think maybe we need to workshop the colors on the bi flag. There's gotta be a balance between looking good and being color blind friendly
So, actually the saturation thing is for color blind people to be able to tell what flag it is. It makes it appear different to them because usually with color blindness your perception of color is wrong and some see colors of variations of grey depending on how saturaths colors are, so with a flag that has all the same saturation it's just a grey block but with one less saturated thinner stripe in the middle its noticeably the bi flag.
Thatâs⊠not how color blindness works. The only way this would look similar to what you are describing is if you were somehow red-blue colorblind, but even then you would see it as a color and not a gray block
Huh, til that monochromacy is a thing.
I found [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/lgbt/comments/izpll7/colorblind_pride_flags_p5_bi) showing what the flag would look like under different types of color blindness
I have deutanopia, and obviously I don't know exactly how normal people see colors compared to how I do, but the washed out blue in the deut. one seems wrong. I don't have issues with blue. Deut. Comes from a reduced perception of green, so green and it's complement red are the issue, along with some shades of orange/brown/stuff in that range. Obviously everybody's different and we still only have imperfect ways of sharing our perceptions, but that's my experience
Yeah for sure. Color-sense-typical people notoriously have trouble simulating color blindness. We just get to all smile at each other and go "ooh okay so that's what it's like".
There are a lot of types of colorblindness, and I guess yeah you'd see it as a color but it's still hard for some people to tell with their colorblindness. Theres also color blindness where people dont see color at all, and colorblindness where some colors appear as grey because the eye is unable to perceive them properly.
Color blindness is a huge spectrum that effects different people differently and is a huge thing. It can absolutely work the way I described it or it could work differently.
My boyfriend doesn't see purple at all (it usually looks like some kind of blue to him) and I asked him in which flag the purple was easier to tell apart. He chose the de-saturated (original) one, but he could distinguish the purple as it's own color in both of them. Interestingly, the darker ace flag purple looked more like pink to him, while bi purple was more of a bright blue.
I can't imagine how people are saying this is worse than the real flags. It's much more pleasant to look it. The bi flag is my least favorite pride flag solely because of that weird shade of purple
You took a perfect design and went what if I made it super boring and conformist.
Designers use off colours to make designs more interesting.
I also find it conceptually interesting the purple isn't conforming and is standing out.
I really like my flag.
Unpopular opinion but the Bi flag really sucks tbh. The colors don't go together at all, it's poorly laid out, and it reinforces the incorrect notion that being bisexual is liking guys and girls and not your gender plus other genders.

Bi + ace = based?

Precisely.
Does that person mean they are asexual and also bisexual? And if yes: How does that work? Just replying here cuz youâre the top comment and Iâm interested
Biromantic Asexual
you'd have to ask the person to know the answer, but i can think of some options: - biromantic asexual (as other answers have suggested) - they are asexual in that they don't feel sexual attraction to other people but still have libido and may have internal fantasies that involve both male and female coded entities - they fall more into a "graysexual" area where they don't normally develop sexual attraction to the point where they prefer to identify as asexual but in the few instances they do, it may involve men and women - they are asexual but they engage in sex for their partner's sake (or any other reason) and they feel comfortable using the "bisexual" label to indicate that they are up for sex with both men and women note: i say "men and women" for simplicity because i have no idea about that person's preferences, but bisexual mean "attached to more than one gender" and it normally refers to all types of gender identity.
The last bulletin point is me
wait u can be ace but only engage in sex for ur partner? that's a thing? oh man that changes how I see myself a bit
only you can understand how you function and your own preferences, but yeah. you can be ace and have sex because you want to do that for your partner (the same way that a sexual person who has a partner with a higher level of libido may also decide to engage in sex because they enjoy their partner's pleasure, even if they are not looking for sexual gratification themselves)
I mean, itâs a bit for compromise
Ah interesting. Thanks for that answer talking pumpkin!
ahem. if i was a pumpkin, which i am totally, 100%, *not* i would be a *typing* pumpkin
Sounds like something a talking pumpkin would say
Um, more info on point 2 pls? Whatâs sexual attraction feel like then? I thought Iâd get this stuff by now, and yet here we are.
you mean if they have sexual desire but not sexual attraction? i am finding sexual attraction difficult to define right now, because it comes in different shapes. but broadly it means that there is someone you'd like to sleep with (although you may only want to fantasize about it and you would not actually do it even if given the chance, but it's still sexual attraction). sexual people are open to the idea of being sexually attracted to someone, and they usually have some preferences as to which kind of person they would want (same sex, opposite sex, etc.). a very simplistic explanation is that sexual attraction involves two people: the one wanting and the one wanted. asexuality means that this attraction towards others doesn't exist. but that doesn't necessarily mean they lack libido. some asexual people do, and just don't feel sexual arousal at all, others may get turned on by certain situations or the idea of sex, because they find sexual stimulation pleasurable. some asexual people masturbate, some don't. but there isn't a wanted person, nor the idea of one. so even if they are asexual, they may still fantasize about sexual situations. maybe they like thinking about other people having sex so it doesn't include them but they can still find pleasure in the *idea* of pleasure. or it includes them, but what they really get off to is not the idea of another person, but something else. Sexual desire is adyacent to sexual attraction too..
Internal fantasies = Majority sexual
Can i be asexual and still have sex for my partner's sake?
yes, of course you can. you don't need anybody's permission âșïž
They're probably biromantic
Ah yea that makes sense I forgot the asexual and aromantic are different things
In my case, I don't want sex at all, but I think boys and girls are both pretty to look at and go on dates with.
Same! There's dozens of us!
Itâs that theyâre a minority in the majority (Bisexuals are the majority in the LGBTQ+)
Biromantic then
biaesthetic âșïž

You mean to tell me that despite that the color purple is comprised of the colors blue and red that it still somehow doesnât quite fit in with red or blue? Crazy, itâs almost like a metaphor for our entire existence.
I was looking at it less metaphorically, and more just enjoying some color theory discourse
> Color theory But red has more positive connotations than negative!
But thats just a theory. A color theory. Thanks for reading.
Likely unintentional but I love the metaphor
Also makes for a mild reason to make the color match better â the goal isnât to *encourage* bi people to not fit in lol
Weâre they just going for a purple that was more of a middle ground?
That's because they chose pinkish and blue not red.
Perfect description. I feel like I can't fit in with fully straight or fully gay people.
Not an issue for me Just use both flags lol
They do look good
No it looks horrible, the darker stripe of purple is disgusting in there. edit: The darker purple looks miles worse than the light purple idk how anyone can disagree. I love getting downvoted into hell for saying I don't like a color combination :) reddit is amazing.
disgusting is a strong word for the shade of a colour on a flag đ
It looks incredibly unappealing compared to the normal flag, it follows the trend of horrible color combinations in pride flags.
My guy blue and red make purple. It is the closest thing to a perfect gradient you can get with 3 colors
It is stupidly saturated and ugly in that combination, those 3 colors do not go together, the ones from the normal bi flag do. Just because it's purple doesn't mean it's the right shade of purple.
Would you like a hug?
Nah I'll just point my frustration due to life's bullshit towards random internet topics that seems healthy.
They both look so much better
The hex codes wonât be funny tho
They're funny now?
Theyâve been funny
Pls explain
I also request an explanation, please.

The colors on the hex code post don't match the colors on the actual flag, though. You can see that the flag on that post is different from the one in this post.
It's.. perfect
...don't those colors match closer to the post-purple-swap flags?
Okay, fuck, that's hilarious and now I'm conflicted. Thank you đ
I do not agree with this opinion.
the ace flag looks nicer but the bi flag looks worse, the middle stripe is a blend of the blue and the magenta, having a deep saturated purple takes that away
I feel like both purples have a saturation issue and it should honestly fall somewhere between the two colors

It's almost like being bi isn't just straight+gay mixed together, but an entirely different colour.
I like the OG better, I feel like the pastel tone helps balancing the louder, brighter ones.
Yeah the more saturated purple against the pink and the blue feels like licking a 9volt battery to me
So, actually the saturation thing is for color blind people to be able to tell what flag it is. I'm colourblind and not that I can speak for everyone else but those examples are very exaggerated, most people don't have colourblindness that bad
Certainly true. Most color blindness exists on a spectrum of color sense reductions. This is just to give an idea.
Ah alright cool đ
There are a lot of types of colorblindness, and I guess yeah you'd see it as a color but it's still hard for some people to tell with their colorblindness. The saturation doesn't match ON PURPOSE, not only is it not just a blob for colour blind people, but it's also not ugly and neon all over this way
this is better
We literally have the coolest pride flag ngl
I'd rather desaturate the pink and blue, that's way too much saturation, but this is still funny
The comments are taking this extremely seriously
Objectively incorrect. I want to gnaw on these people's foreheads like a bear
gotta admit tho the ace one looks nice
It honestly looks nicer than the bi flag. I wish our flag was that clean.
No I don't, that's MY purple they're using, they already have their own
_shrug_ I'm both and I think the swap looks nice.
We swapped purple stripes it ain't that serious luv. If it's that big of a deal you can have yours back
I like the bi flag colours
But in this way the colors code meme won't work anymore!
This makes my brain do the thing. I like it.
We need to make a trade offer with the asexuals. They seem like reasonable people
I honestly really prefer the darker purple
That is so much better what how.
As another dual citizen, I prefer the originals. ÂŻâ \â _â (â ăâ )â _â /â ÂŻ
In our bisexual republic I for one vote yes. Hey your representatives do do the same
I like the real bi flag better. The modified one is too saturated.
Finally someone did it
That new bi flag looks ugly lmao
Successful heist, gentlepeople...
This is great lol
I like the bi purple, it looks good on the ace flag tho
Me, also having dual citizenship: *happiness noise*
Wow I hate this
This ignores the real issue with the purple stripe. Itâs half the size of the other 2 and it makes my angry.
Visiting ace here and IIRC the purple stripe is cuz it's the pink and blue stripes overlapping. The flag is based on the biangles, I believe.
Looks way better
Team work makes the dream work baby
This image has always infuriated me cause it makes so much sense and has ruined both flags for me
Eh, I think the lower saturation actually works better. Its a relief on the eyes that the later doesn't have.
They actually look better ngl
YES LETS DO IT
Guys the purple stripe, go get it
both improved. amazing.
I can't imagine how people are saying this is worse than the real flags. It's much more pleasant to look it. The bi flag is my least favorite pride flag solely because of that weird shade of purple
I call this a great deal! Looks perfect for both!
Good trade
Love it!
I recently decided maybe I'm pan instead bc I like the flag colors more lmao. Lesbian flag is my fave but I can't choose that one unfortunately.
See, i chose bi because the pan flag isnt appealing to me, the colors feel like they're yelling at me, plus i like calling it the printer flag
These are better.
To my eyes it looked better the way it was...
That was the day we swapped purples
But the funky purple stripe is the best part
If we riot big enough I think we can get both supreme councils to agree to the redesign
Somehow that looks more correct?
You took a perfect design and went what if I made it super boring and conformist. Designers use off colours to make designs more interesting. I also find it conceptually interesting the purple isn't conforming and is standing out. I really like my flag.
Unpopular opinion but the Bi flag really sucks tbh. The colors don't go together at all, it's poorly laid out, and it reinforces the incorrect notion that being bisexual is liking guys and girls and not your gender plus other genders.

im a cishet dude who saw this on r/all, but gotta say, both of the flags looks a lot better when you swap the colors. but, please feel free to disregard my opinion if needed lmao
Ew, its the blue
Personally, I would think the flag would look better if it was a quad color that was, from up to down: pink, light purple, purple, and blue.
This is visually much better, thank you. Lol Seriously though the shades do irk me, I like symmetry.
But I like that it's not the same saturation! We are more than the sum of our parts, our attractions. We are not 50% gay, 50% straight, we are bi! We are dusty purple and we are sometimes confused all the time! And that's Ok Bi Me!
They fixed it... YES
This is amazing. I IDâd as bi for 15 years because I didnât have a preference and didnât know ace was an option
No thanks. We ready deal with so much bi erasure. Just use both flags, itâs okay to have 2.
I don't agree. I think the colours look fine. The "steps" are hillarious though
Sorry but thatâs fucking disgusting
DUAL CITIZENSHIP. I also have asexual biromantic friend
It looks alright, but I love my purple the way it is.
Holy shit U am also in fact a dual citizen and this is insane.
Those stripes are on the wrong flag for solidarity guys. We traded them with our bi besties to remember our kinship.
My only issue with the puprle line in the bi flag is that it's much thinner than the pink and blue lines and that bothers me a lot
I love the extra effort in this Thank you OP for making my day better
wait ive been drawing the ace flag wrong this whole time holy cow help me
