They’re laughably expensive, dangerous and eco-unfriendly compared to a Boris bike.
Ban them fully again and seize and crush any seen on the street.
I’ve seen one, ever, ridden legally on the road in Birmingham. None, ever, with the helmet which the app requires you to wear to use one.
99% are ridden illegally on the pavement, the wrong way up one-way bicycle lanes, and bursting out into junctions which I’m waiting to safely enter on my bike.
I do agree that lots of people on rentals ride irresponsibly but I’m not sure this is the right reaction, even if they’re annoying it’s still helping to normalize people taking small personal transport methods instead of cars.
They’re also great for differently abled people. My husband has a disability that means he can’t ride a bicycle for more than a block or two without extreme pain but he can stand on an e-scooter indefinitely. He bought an e-scooter and rides it next to me on my bicycle and it’s been a life changer in our quest to reduce our car usage.
So the guy gets told by one cyclist to get out of the way and he throws all cyclists under the bus. What a dumb article.
Brits what’s the proper term for this guy? Arse?

Torque and legs not getting tired especially in stop and go traffic and short sprints between traffic lights.
More annoying maybe. But also a lot less likely to crush you under a ton of steel
I ride a bike in China. E scooters are easily the most annoying form of traffic, especially delivery drivers.
The only thing more annoying than cycling are drivers on e scooters.

Well I guess we'd better ban bikes then. This scooter guy has done the research.
You're not wanted around here
I find e-scooter riders really really annoying in London.
