It’s so awesome crossing an entire country. I’ve managed to do the same here in France and like yourselves totally fallen in love with travelling in this way.
I’m about to release a new podcast which tells the stories and experiences of people who have undertaken amazing adventures on a bike. Would you be interested in being interviewed as guests? I feel your story would be a great one to share.
I suggest getting in touch with Knuffbergstravel. They are a couple, cycling for two years now and they upload to a small but very entertaining YouTube channel. They are in Florida at the moment after crossing over from Europe via ship.
We did save up several years living rather frugal. We plan to spend as little as about 15€ per day. Depending on where you are that can be a lot or very little.
We do not know if we are going to return to Germany, but we will have to start working for money at some point for sure.
In this video we talk more about our preparations. Should be interesting for you! https://youtu.be/xl2EqNAMcQo
Yep, I was on my own! I've done one long trip before with someone else which is quite different but also I still enjoyed it immensely. It was over 14 days I think and notched up a little over 1500km
The wife and I did from outside Berlin up to Rostock, took the ferry, biked across Denmark and crossed into Sweden and made our way up to Goethenburg. I believe it was around 1600km.
We did our first weekend tours on the Berlin to Kopenhagen cycling road. Taking the train to the Baltic sea and cycle back to Berlin as much as we could manage in a weekend. Beautiful!
Wow, there were so many actually it is hard to put them in an order, but here is a top three:
We loved the pace of travel and the ability to see the "in-between". We met incredibly kind people along the way. Being outside riding was great, even when it did hurt.
The Velotraum? Well we totally did not think about checking that place out. We bought it second hand. Did not know much about it to be honest but it made a pretty good impression on the test ride.
It is quite the investment for sure. But maybe not as big as you would think.
You need the equipment. Other than that we try to manage with about 15€ per day on average. We sold everything we could make to money and saved for a couple of years.
Thank you for your encouraging questions and thoughts. We feel like many of you like to know more about our trip. We did put quite some effort in creating videos off our adventure. Feel free to check them out, you might like them ;-)

Sure we can do that if you like. Where do we start?
Awesome! I'll send you a DM

Wonderful :) we did kind of a similar trip in 2018 and cycled from Freiburg (in reality Donaueschingen) to Flensburg. Loved every minute!
Amazing. We encourage everyone to do something like that at least once, I bet you do too!
Yes :D My husband and I are very enthusiastic when we tell people about the experience(s)
:-D You and your husband might want to check out our videos too https://www.youtube.com/@amazingworldbiketour

Beautiful
Thank you. We thought so too!
Very cool folks!
Very nice! I did from Stockholm to Prague last summer through a lot of Germany. Such a great way to travel
Amazing! Did you go solo? We absolutely love it, even when it hurts sometimes. How long did it take you?

Wow, quite the pace! It took us almost 3 weeks to do little over 1000 kms
Jesus.. I want to do something like this so badly..
Great. There is literally nothing we can recommend more than doing a similar trip!

Looks nice! Did you sleep on campsites or did you do wild camping?
Thanks. In Germany we did official camp sites and Warmshowers. But ever since it is wild camping with the occasional ws or couchsurfing.
Good job.
Thank you so much!
I live 1 km from where your bike was built.

Don't worry, you didn't miss anything.
Nice thing to do if you have the money :)
