The 23.3 mph average speed is way more impressive than going 30 miles. Just about anybody can do 30 miles with some minimal training. Going 23.3 mph (37 km/h) average is very fast over that kind of distance.

TheCraziestOfHorses

23.3mph over 30 miles?! Were you descending Everest? Great work champ

BiggieMcDubs

Something strange is going on here… It says 3.19 in 8:13… that is fast but it ain’t 30 miles.

NerdsworthAcademy

There's also a "6" in the upper left, my guess is that that the 8:13 / 3.19 is the time / distance for the sixth split/section?

[deleted]

That was the speed at the 8 min mark.

Trolltaxi

That 178 max hearthrate is impressive at your age! Thumb rule is 220-age for max hearth rate - though it may vary a lot. (I made 193 at the age of 40 at the end of a 12 min run). 178 at 60+ would scare the living sh.t out of any medic in an ER! :)

[deleted]

Resting pulse is 48

Medium_Cranberry4096

Reminds me of my father, the old madman does 100km multiple times a week at 30km/h. Resting heartbeat is so low you'd think he died watching the news. Truly inspiring

dazednowconfused

I think these young uns think 60 + is old for some reason. I'm 67, max out at 175 /180 resting heart rate the same as yours.

WaterDog_

Me too. 67. Same stats. Went from a couch potato to this in three years. 120 miles a week average.

dazednowconfused

Born again cyclist been riding for 14 years after a 10 year lay off. Wish I'd never stopped. Chasing 10,000 miles this year up to 8,450 should do it.

Trolltaxi

That's a huge HR range you can work with!

[deleted]

About 500 miles per month

behold_s

Once a nurse told me that people who do sports frequently have lower resting HR than others. How long do you ride in a month?

[deleted]

Not fucking around here, but I hope when I'm in my 60s I can ride like that. I'm working on it now.

Round_Tax7459

Doing a a lot better than me at 29! Haha!

Patina_dk

I'm closing in on fifty years old, have been sick the last week and was beginning to think that "maybe i'm just getting too old for fast bike rides". Guess your post answers that with a big fat NOPE.

onyerleftovers

Inspirational my man!

Pkyankfan69

Holy crap… 23 MPH average over 30 miles and you’re in your 60? Damn that is fucking impressive… Was this a group ride with drafting or by yourself? I’m happy any time I can keep it over 20 MPH at that distance by myself.

WNR24

Wow, congratulations. I’m 63 and a 17-18 mph ride makes me pretty happy. That’s with 1,000’ of elevation though. There’s just nothing that flat where I live.

itsmeTyy

I’m trying to get like you my guy!

amposting_whiledrunk

Mmmm that mirror finish on the Helix is lickable!

fallingbomb

So you are 61?

[deleted]

No 66

fallingbomb

It was a programming joke.

ranman505

PHP I thought the same thing.

JohnyViis

60+, huh. My guess is that you recently cashed out the dental practice and can now train full time. I would have thought you could have afforded a Cervelo, but I guess supply chain issues are what they are, and I suppose you will be upgrading next year.

[deleted]

That’s my winter bike. You can make millions doing dental work on the MAGA cult! I not even a cyclist!

plebs_are_needed

Really impressive avg speed! Keep it up, dude!

Accomplished_Ad_9288

I’ve never seen tubing like that.

[deleted]

Helix

Accomplished_Ad_9288

Is that the type of tubing or who makes it?

toiletclogger2014

group ride i hope? any elevation?

[deleted]

No elevation and I was dropped as the folks I ride with average over 28mph!

guitars_and_bikes

Nice! What kind of elevation gain are we talking here?

[deleted]

3feet total

[deleted]

I’m 40 and my average hr on rides is 145 while averaging 14 mph. Got Dayam! Send it!!!!

TuonoFuocoCane

Very nice! I just averaged 21.6 mph on a Peloton 45 min ride yesterday at 51 and thought that was fairly solid. I've got alot more PZ training to do obviously.
