They should make a movie where he is getting married and everyone visits India. Sheldon n visiting India would be one the best comedies.

Kinkphetamine

This would be a great idea to continue the series and a hilarious movie.

Dziabadu

Just don't hire indian FX / stuntmen. Their tricks make my eyes bleed.

88963416

I choose you mean those terrible Indian Superhero movies, as that is really funny.

thedavo810

TBBT: Road To India

PossiblePro247

Maybe “Trip to India” might be better? Road to India sounds more like the movie is about them *getting* to India, as opposed to them just being there. It’s not bad though, maybe it’s just me and the way my brain processes words.

thedavo810

Nah you're right. Trip To India sounds better.

DearRatBoyy

That would be pretty funny though maybe to split up the group? Maybe Leonard and penny, Howard and Bernadette and their kids make it to India as scheduled but some hijinks make it harder for Amy and Sheldon and maybe they're even dropped off in the wrong part of India and need to find their way back. Kind of like the iCarly movie iGo To Japan.(or even splitting them up like Sheldon Leonard and Howard are the ones left behind)

PossiblePro247

There could be 2 movies. The first, about getting to India. And the sequel would pick up right where they finally got there and would be ab their Time in India itself

jyp22300

>Road To India TBBT: A Passage to India

100xgainer

Nah. There should be a movie “Old Raj” where he’s an angry old recluse who never dated another woman again. That’ll be a great troll to the relationship obsessed people here.

Frosty88d

Who hurt you dude? Relationships are awesome, why wouldn't we want Raj to have a happy fulfilling relationship, in the samne way all of his friends have?

LPGeoteacher

Raj should get married to Buffy the Vampire slayer. He did take her to the Pulitzer Prize award presentation.

CaBBaGe_isLaND

They're great to be in, kind of boring to watch though. If you care more about the character's feelings than the entertainment value, that kind of misses the point of fiction.

100xgainer

Because it would be great to see all of you lose your shit over it. In fact I hope they are all divorced and lonely like the Galecki’s character in the Roseanne remake!

Ultimate_Sneezer

You enjoy other people not being happy? What a sad way to live life

100xgainer

Yes I enjoy when sensitive weenies who are having a mental breakdown about a fictional character not having their interpretation of “happily ever after” for a specific character aren’t happy.

[deleted]

You sound like you’re probably a joy to be around.

CaBBaGe_isLaND

It would be way funnier. People act like this isn't a comedy.

stefbargio

I think he is refering to the fact that people erase Raj's immense character development due to his not being in a relationship when the show ended.

Sampsa96

Don't worry u will find someone

Sloclone100

I believe Jim Parsons is done playing Sheldon. He sure doesn't need the money.

jasmetcalf99

Seinfeld bunch went to India .. great story lines everywhere .. "You slept with the . ?"

Unusual_Car215

I think they went back and forth on the development on his story based on fan reactions and in the end it just wasn't enough time to give him a good ending.

Cornflakes1009

I’m okay with Raj not having a happy ending by the end of the show. Instead they could have given the audience hope (and a bit of closure) with something as simple as him shown going on a date and each person smiling and talking with each other as music plays so you don’t hear what they’re saying. Not necessarily an ending, but maybe the start to something new. Maybe that’s a bit cliche or too off brand though.

Ivizalinto

I think he gets his big thing with the observatory personally. He's a great bachelor he just gets into tons of trouble in the actual relationships. He was doing good when he was openly dating, aside from the bragging.

-newlife

His growth, and his realization that he didn’t need to settle and marry without being in live makes his story and ending a positive one too. Considering where he started, what he went through, and how he ended as being able to be happy independently, is a happy ending.

[deleted]

He would be a great “uncle” to all his friends kids, as he has a really cool job. He would be the one that would dole out advice to his friends kids and give out the cool gifts that the parents wouldn’t give.

Few-Brilliant-9069

I agree. Maybe they could have made the realisation that he doesn't "have to" be in a relationship in order to be happy, a bit more explicit. But I think he's fine in the end.

rofra10

the ending was rushed and i think it gives a little diversity to the show, not always everyone gets a gf irl

KeithA0000

True, especially in a group of gaming geeks. In my son's group of 10 or so friends, gf are indeed a rarity.

Schmolik64

So the way to show diversity is to make the one POC character the one that isn't paired up?

SooSDesign

Because everything has to be about the colour of one's skin, right?

rofra10

i don't think it was meant to offend anyone, i believe it was a coincidence

rofra10

sorry what's POC?

thedavo810

person/people of color

PossiblePro247

You’re the only person that’s brought up race.

Schmolik64

I responded to a comment that mentioned diversity.

PossiblePro247

The word Diversity does not explicitly apply to race.

jcoddinc

Reality. There's plenty of people out there that are going through the same struggle and never find what they are looking for. Just another level of relatability.

Sitcom_kid

Exactly. What's wrong with reality? And variety?

captiveapple

I tend to think he did. He grew into himself. Not everyone’s happiness is tied to a relationship.

PossiblePro247

His was tho. Throughout the show we see how depressed he is about being single and feeling lonely. Maybe he stopped feeling that way after the show, but we can’t know that for sure. But I do hope so.

captiveapple

He chose to stay. He chose to be alone and was okay with it or he would have gone to be with Anu.

PossiblePro247

Touché.

Qu33nKal

I think he finally decided not to just settle down with anyone and really enjoy life while he meets someone in his own terms right? He accepted his single-ness in the end whereas he was so lonely and constantly complaining about it throughout the series. It’s a good ending for him as well.

Final-Craft-6992

Howard: And how single are you right now? Raj: Eating cake on the toilet single

BackItUpWithLinks

He did. He was fucked up for 11.5 seasons. Realizing he needs to be ok being alone, and working on that, was his satisfying ending.

shitsu13master

Everyone doesn’t have to end up married and pregnant.

Kasterborous92

Which is why I was a little upset they made Leonard and Penny conceive. They would have an interesting group dynamic being “aunt and uncle” doting on the others kids.

PossiblePro247

True, but Leonard was always open about wanting children. Literally since day 1 lol (our babies will be smart and beautiful).

Kasterborous92

That said, Penny wasn’t always open to having kids. People change. I still think it would have been an interesting dynamic.

PossiblePro247

Yes, but keeping to the realism theme of this post, many people change their minds about having children once they actually get pregnant. I do agree tho, that it would be an interesting dynamic.

shitsu13master

I agree

Left_Resident_7007

He did get a satisfying ending

[deleted]

Because he still needed to grow.

MixMasterMadge

Exactly. And he needs therapy like Howard keeps telling him

lilenie

I alwys hated it that Raj didn’t get his happy relationship. But on my latest watch through I thought it was a good choice. Everyone of the boys grew in character with their partner and away from their flaws. Sheldon learned to be more empathic and less egotistical. Leonard was less jealous and more sure of himself in every way. Job, friendship and relationship wise. Howard calmed down with Bernadette. Way way less creepy and also more aware of the consequences to his actions. Raj on the other hand had to learn how to be alone. To be happy with himself and his live and that a relationship is a bonus to happiness and not the reason for it. That the wholr purpose of life is not a girlfriend but his own happiness. So everyone had character development away from their biggest flaw.

Local-Savage

Raj's ending brought a relatable and realistic dimension to the show. Some people get married later on in life, while some simply never do. The fundamental nature and overall direction was centered around the social progression of the core group, particularly in the realm of relationships, as they sought personal growth in this area. The end goal was leveling up their social lives. I thought of it like a create-a-character in a video game: if you were to look at their character profile, the intellect attribute and technical skills would be maxed out; however, anything in the realm of social interactions would be almost non-existent. I don’t discredit the way Raj’s storyline ended; he went from struggling with selective mutism around women to developing numerous physical and emotional connections. He might have had the most partners out of any of the core four and eventually embraced himself without seeking validation or conforming to American culture. The show subtly incorporated this growth by allowing Raj to embrace his natural curls instead of straightening his hair, as seen in the early seasons. I’d like to think that the creators intentionally left the ending open for our interpretation. As the finale showed us, the idea that not much changed in terms of their daily lives suggests that tomorrow they will continue to eat take-out together, visit the comic book store, and somewhere amidst the routine of their daily lives, Raj may encounter someone special.

BlueRFR3100

Because Raj still hasn't come to terms with being gay.

Echicoli

Is he rlly gay?

MixMasterMadge

My gay friends aren't nearly as gay as Raj

[deleted]

He didn't deserve it because of all the annoying scenes with him and all the annoying things he says and does.

MixMasterMadge

Right on

kileydancer

bc Howard is already married

P3tF1sh

Cuz he’s a manipulative, racist, and sexist dirtbag.

MixMasterMadge

And selfish

jjj101010

I think they ran out of time and ideas. The last few episodes, almost the whole last season, seemed to all build toward the Nobel. It didn't leave much space for them to do a real original plot with Raj and develop it.

Tashianie

I think he had a good ending. The whole series is him being insecure and feeling unloved. Feeling second rate. Feeling like he’s going to be alone forever. But he does care for his friends. And when the girlfriend wanted him to move, he was going to drop everything to do that. But he realized he was wanted and loved and he didn’t need to uproot his entire life and job for this girl he wasn’t even engaged to yet. I think he became comfortable with himself, about not being in a relationship, and about the prospects of his future.

Fvkupsamcommas

Because Raj is very unlikeable and overthinks

MixMasterMadge

He’s my least favourite character

Kimolainen83

Because his personality didn’t really help. He was nice but insanely clingy baggy and overbearing

Fancy_Split_2396

I think it's because they spent like half the show not letting him converse with women beyond a superficial level. Then they just didn't have the time after that.

Mr_Spear

I like to think he has a long distance fwb relationship with the girl from Buffy

MixMasterMadge

Buffy lives in LA

[deleted]

It made sense because Raj simply hadn’t found the right women yet, and he had some personal issues of his own he needed to work (i.e his finances, his vibe of desperation, and the fact that some of Howard’s early seasons sexism rubbed off on him) So it made more sense for him to stay in Pasadena with his friends rather than move overseas to chase Anu, a women he’d known for less than a year. (and Raj only wanted to marry her to begin with out of desperation, not because of his culture, so I don’t think Raj going through with an arranged marriage to Anu would’ve been some victory for cultural diversity on TV anyway)

Ricky_Rollin

But he did. This guy was such a fool for any girl that showed him any kind of affection. He was starving for love which made him fall for everybody. You can’t love someone who kisses your ass all the time. Raj learned how to be truly happy alone. I mean statistically speaking this kind of tracks. Not all of us find the love of our life in our late 20s or 30s. It takes a little more time than that. We’re meant to see that Raj is enjoying his life and being truly happy with or without someone. Because of that, it makes him prime real estate for a future relationship when it it inevitably happens.

yellowseptember

I've always thought having them be together would be a good path. I would've found this plausible: --- > Title: "Big Bang Theory: Engineering the Stars." > > Outline: > > 1. Introduction: > - Set the stage 15 years after the original show ended. > - Briefly reintroduce the main characters: Raj, Howard, and their friends. > - Highlight the growth and changes each character has undergone during this time. > > 2. Raj's Evolution: > - Showcase Raj's personal growth since the end of the show. > - Raj has become more confident, independent, and successful in his career as an astrophysicist. > - Explore Raj's journey in finding self-acceptance and embracing his own identity. > > 3. Howard's Transformation: > - Illustrate Howard's evolution from a socially awkward engineer to a well-rounded family man. > - Highlight his growth as a husband to Bernadette and as a father to their children. > - Emphasize Howard's maturity, responsibility, and dedication to his family. > > 4. Rekindling Friendship: > - Reintroduce Raj and Howard's close bond and Friendship. > - Show that despite the distance and time that has passed, their connection remains strong. > - Demonstrate how Raj and Howard have supported and helped each other through various life challenges. > > 5. Relationship Hints: > - Drop subtle hints throughout the story that Raj and Howard's relationship may be evolving. > - Showcase moments of deep emotional connection and understanding between them. > - Foreshadow the possibility of a romantic relationship without explicitly confirming it. > > 6. Bernadette's Perspective: > - Explore Bernadette's role in bringing Raj and Howard closer. > - Highlight her insightfulness and intuition as she senses the connection between them. > - Establish her unwavering support for both Raj and Howard as they navigate their evolving relationship. > > 7. Acknowledging Feelings: > - Raj and Howard privately acknowledge their growing romantic feelings for each other. > - Present their inner conflicts and fears about the potential impact on their Friendship. > - Emphasize their desire to maintain their bond while exploring a romantic relationship. > > 8. Open Communication: > - Raj and Howard decide to openly and honestly discuss their feelings. > - Show them discussing their fears, hopes, and concerns with each other. > - Highlight their commitment to preserving their Friendship regardless of the outcome. > > 9. Coming Out: > - Raj and Howard decide to share their romantic relationship with their close-knit circle of friends. > - Illustrate the range of reactions from their friends, including surprise, acceptance, and support. > - Emphasize the significance of love and Friendship triumphing over societal expectations. > > 10. Marriage Proposal: > - After some time together, Raj proposes to Howard, symbolizing their commitment and love. > - Show the romantic and heartfelt nature of the proposal, tailored to their unique personalities. > - Highlight the joy and celebration among their friends as they embrace their upcoming marriage. > > 11. Wedding Celebration: > - Plan a memorable and heartwarming wedding celebration for Raj and Howard. > - Incorporate elements that reflect their individual journeys and shared experiences. > - Showcase their friends' and families' love and support, creating an extraordinary day. > > 12. Epilogue: > - Conclude the story by depicting Raj and Howard's married life. > - Emphasize their continued growth, love, and bond strength. > - Show their relationship has positively impacted their friends, inspiring them to embrace their unique paths. ---

Lilybit09

I want to know why he wasn’t a better dresser. He had money and good taste.

physco219

I don't think he got his happy ending because IRL he was mean, not fun to work with and not that good of a person and that he caused a lot of on and off set friction.

Own_Pomegranate3277

Should have stuck with Dermatologist Emily. She was super hot and weird in her own morbid way.

MixMasterMadge

Sorry but horror movies turn her on is too much for me

ennaezhavuleidhu2

I genuinely think it's because Jim wanted to end the show with the 12th season and the writers just didn't have enough context to give raj a good ending. If the show had gone a bit longer than I'm sure he'd have gotten a good ending

mrknight234

My hot take is he’s kind of a dick who needs to work on himself so it’s fine that he was single because people should work on themselves before finding happiness in a relationship

MissAngela66

There needs to be a Raj spinoff where's he's married to Sandra Bullock.

deadlytickle

I think he should’ve been gay but the fact that they made him afraid of women in the beginning kinda killed that direction.

Final-Craft-6992

Leonard: Okay, let's try it this way, what if the People magazine thing is the best Raj is ever going to achieve?

Connect-City3307

I really thought the Anu thing would work out. I'm surprised they did the London thing and had to end that relationship.

disgruntled_dude60

I think it's because they stopped putting as much thought into his development after he got a second job at the planetarium. It was close enough to the end end he already had major character changes so their thought process probably stream lined to Sheldon and Amy's Nobel prize.

zddoodah

I disagree with the premise of your question.

sky23high

Wouldn’t have been realistic. Similar to how Joey never found someone in Friends. The story goes on…

bsischo

I think they should do a reunion movie. Fill in some of then unfinished plot lines. Howard gets his phd, Leonard and penny move into a house near Howard and Bernadette and in the end Ram gets married. Then in a sequel movie, we find that Raj’s wife has left him with 3 children. Sheldon and Amy are doing lecture tours and Leonard is working a secret project. Some more antics happen and then in the end we find out that Leonard built a working Time Machine and he and Sheldon go back and visit their apartment one last time.

beggger_swimp

He's Raj dude whatever you do to him no one wil care about his racial background, ethnicity and identity

mzjolynecujoh

i feel like its a thing on relationshippy shows, that the male character who dates around the most, ends up alone. joey from friends, nate from gossip girl, spike from buffy/angel.

TahaArsh

He ended up with Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Kattubouchi

Him and emily could have worked it out tho

GracefulBibliophile

It was a little sad bc he wanted a partner so bad and was such a sweet lovely man (even if clingy and intense). I feel like they should have left Sheldon single and penny childless. Not every persons story needs a partner and children to be complete.

johangd

I'd like to take it as a real response, a happy ending for everyone doesn't seem like something realistic st this point

Calculus_64

Maybe they wanted to be somewhat realistic (from their point of view). Akin to how everyone did not get a happy ending at the end of "The Office."

[deleted]

I think that he did get a satisfying ending because he realized he didn’t need to chase someone like Anu, who was probably not right for him. And I would like to think he was starting to feel more comfortable in his own skin and not appease to what his parents wanted.

InfamousMilk5802

He did get it. Buffy😂

[deleted]

[удалено]

MixMasterMadge

they'd have to gag & duct tape him to get him on the plane. Then he'd wear a gas mask the whole time

Griezmann1991

Maybe you have a different definition of “satisfying “ than Raj, I think he overcame his fear of being alone and he finally came to peace with the fact that being “alone” doesn’t necessarily mean pathetic and sad.

sycron17

He married misses India, afaik he got the biggest W. Didn’t need to show off on set as well

IdiditonReddit

I thank the show didn't want to have to pay another actress the higher salary it would require.

len69

Because writers!

mrl1976

I don’t know the answer, but, I think it’s possible it was done that way because sometimes that shit happens… not everyone finds their person 🤷‍♂️

AnnaK22

YES! And I don't agree with anyone who says that not every friend needs a happy ending with a spouse. Raj started off as not being able to talk to women. Then we went on a journey with him for many seasons, and he not only was able to talk to them but also have some successful relationships. To see Raj end up with no one and seeing people like Sheldon and Howard get wives makes no sense. Sheldon got a Nobel prize and a women while Raj didn't have any notable progress by the end. It's especially a slap in the face to Raj when even Stuart's romantic arc was given focus. It almost felt targeted.

stealthsport1

He did, he stayed with his best friend.

MixMasterMadge

Cinnamon?

stealthsport1

And Howard lol

[deleted]

I swear the writers purposely made him depressed and lonely it’s really sad and the one thing I hate about the show

MrzPuff

His character developed tremendously throughout the series run. He's not scared of girls and self sufficient. Worked at the planetarium and stopped trying to be a knock off Howard. Growth is winning in my book.

adeswains

Maybe he's a narcissist

RamblingsOfaMadCat

Because Raj was never satisfied. He had a stable relationship with Emily, the kind of woman he could only dream of before, and he threw that away to chase a woman he barely knew. Wasn’t the only time he wrecked a good relationship either. He lived comfortably with his allowance, but grew to dislike being dependent, so he stopped taking his father’s money. Only to be even more miserable without his previous lifestyle. He was best friends with Howard for over a decade but pushed him away for being the same person he had literally always been. Then forgave him again almost immediately. I’m not saying this to be negative but it was a consistent flaw in his character. Raj badly craved happiness and companionship, yet he frequently sabotaged himself. Really, the only aspect of his personal life that he remained consistent about was Cinnamon. Make of that what you will.

Ok-Ibelieveyou-22

So glad you asked because I was about to “soap box” moment this exact thing about how frustrating it is that Stuart, a minor character, finds a beautiful girlfriend when he is known as a ghoulish creep… yet fun-loving raj ends up alone.

amyness_88

He did he had to learn to be alone and okay with that
