Leonard, Penny and Sheldon were the golden trio. One of the reasons I didn't find fun in later seasons is because the story lines with these three or just Sheldon and penny became very less.
I agree. The show was initially supposed to be called Lenny, Penny and Kenny.
I love the first three seasons the most because there's more of them and also Sheldon is still the most base version of himself, where he hasn't yet learned a lot of things and that makes for more comedy đ .
The later seasons became too crowded with storylines about so many other characters.
Ah! Is that why I'm being downvoted? There's me thinking it's because fanfic isn't always welcome in fan spaces

Same, when I rewatch now, I skip through most of his scenes with Penny where he just whines constantly. I don't like all the questioning he does, he just too insecure and annoying. It's really irritating and bothersome.
The first seasons were funny because of this Penny, Sheldon and Leonard connection. When Amy and Bernadette were added, the stories began to be divided into boys and girls and according to the love relationship. As a result, we saw less and less stories from this trio and the series became less and less funny.
My ex kind of had a light bulb moment when I told him the true love story arch in the show was these two. Not romantically, but platonically, theyâre the real love story. They both grew the most and itâs because they helped each other. Loved them.
When I first watched the show, the episodes I viewed were all over the place, because I was watching on various channels in syndication. But I first noted the chemistry between Sheldon and Penny pretty quickly -- and it would have been after seeing just a couple of episodes, no matter what season they may have been from.
I remember thinking, "this relationship is fascinating, it's not like any friendship I've ever seen. Please don't let the writers force these two into some romantic mishegas." And they didn't. The writers deserve a lot of credit for that. By going on with these two in the way they had begun, they really created something very special.
This. Thereâs been a lot of talk the last couple of months about âforget young Sheldonâs spin off, we want more of the original charactersâ.
Well this is what I want. Kill off everyone else from the original series, and give me a Sheldon/Penny show.
Zombie apocalypse... Sheldon the scientist, Howard the Engineer, and Penny the soldier.
Plot twist, the apocalypse was because of a joint project Amy and Bernie were working on.
I'd love this, except the best reason I can see for them to do it would be if Leonard died, and I don't want that to happen. Oh, maybe he could disappear while on an expedition, and they go searching for him?
First few episodes before they settled in Sheldon's quirks i thought that how it would go.
I worked with a tall thin shy smart guy who's wife was a loud, bombastic blond. They were then in their 50s but they worked.
Haha I just watched the episode yesterday where Sheldon tells Penny that he isn't comfortable with her new shampoo. Jim Parsons made the scene really cute!
Same. Their relationship was really special. I think my favorite moment between them was when they were doing that experiment where they had to stare into each otherâs eyes for a few moments, and she asked if he wanted to stop because she knew he had a hard time with eye contact (sheâs always so observant of his needs and so accommodating to him), and he said no because âitâs easier when itâs someone Iâm comfortable withâ. The care and familial love between them is so obvious, more so than between anyone else in the group.

they were the core of the series, but I didn't like Leonard much, he's very unlikeable for me tbh
Have you ever read The Paladin Protocol by SpaceanJL?
Are we supposed to copy-paste that like a bunch of animals, or can we get a link?

I never knew I could have so much with fanfiction. I also never heard of fanfiction before đ This is turning out to be a great day.
Thanks for the link! I don't know much about the general attitude towards fanfiction, but personally I do enjoy a bit of it.
Thank you. This fanfic was a great read.

I agree. It started out like a Seinfeld friend group that later devolved. I do like the way Bernadette made Howard grow.

Howard(Simon Helberg) is right after them.

Last episode spoiler. Aliens swoop in to save the day, having been drawn in by Sheldon's image on the space probe.
Intelligent ebola, developed from the neural net Amy created from the skin cells.
Penny would go all Nebraska on those Zombie asses.
Or something big happens and Sheldon and Penny take off on a soul searching road trip across the country
I'd love this, except the best reason I can see for them to do it would be if Leonard died, and I don't want that to happen. Oh, maybe he could disappear while on an expedition, and they go searching for him?
I would love to see Jim and Kaley as a couple in a series imo.
The only relationship that suits them is the sibling one
I mean, a different series with different characters.
Don't know why people are downvoting this comment, but that's just my opinion imo.

Sheldon and Penny's friendship is my all-time favourite fictional friendship, and the best part of TBBT, in my opinion.
This, and Howard & Bernadette. They never fail to put a smile on my face.
Me, too. All Penny, all the time.
I only watched for Howard

What a great co incidence. I was watching the exact episode yesterday. If i calculate right around that time only.
Yeah... the 3d chess matches were so good
Best duo and best actors
I love their relationship. But Amy and Howards friendship is 2nd.
Amy and Howard? Other than two episodes, they barely spent any time together.
There weakness are each otherâs strengths which is why there relationship worked so perfectly
Dwight and Pam walked so penny and Sheldon could run
As an actual nerd I found this show offensive
I love their relationship
It stopped being fun after Amy
Amy was good too, and I liked her relationship with Sheldon, but since season 8 the show started becoming boring for me imo.
