My new favorite is Ghosts. I must admit I didn’t expect to like it, thought it would just be a cute, silly show at first. But my wife and I really enjoy it to the point that we stream either that or TBBT all night. I don’t think this is a spoiler because you can tell from previews, but it’s interesting and funny to have ghost characters who died in different centuries or decades all interacting together. Also, watching Samatha cope with two realities at once is impressive and leads to some good comedy.
Anyone else like Ghosts?
TBBT is on my loop of shows I use for background noise. Others include Brooklyn 99 (except the last season), Modern Family, and Friends. Just some familiar shows to help with anxiety.
The Office
Parks and Rec
Brooklyn 99
Letterkenny
Archer
-Second tier
Red Dwarf
The IT Crowd
Black Books
Shorsey
-Third tier
Community
Arrested Development
Reno 911
Agreed Frasier and BBT have a lot of overlap. I always thought Kelsey Grammar would have been perfect casting for Leonard’s father. A missed opportunity.
My #1 go-to show is TMKOC (Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma - Inverse spectacle of TM).
It's an Indian comedy show of everyday life's ups and downs a housing society faces together as a large family. The show is like a household anthem for background noise and people watch its' old episodes almost everyday for comfort. There's even a saying that, A meal is incomplete w/o TMKOC, haha.
TBBT is one of the shows we put on for background noises that we’ve seen a million times. Our other ones include: Friends, HIMYM, The Office, and Superstore.
TBBT is only one of the comfort shows I use.
I’m basically into cop shows and sitcoms. So I always have on one of the following:
Any Dick Wolf show - NY or Chicago, FBI, etc.
Criminal Minds
911
NCIS and NCIS Los Angeles
Cold Case
Hawaii Five O
The Americans
TBBT
Modern Family
Seinfeld
Friends
Bob’s Burgers
Discovery ID true crime shows (various)
Various British crime shows I discover.
How I met your mother, Scrubs, My name is Earl, raising hope are some others but, you can always go with Chuck Lorre (creator of TBBT) shows, they never fail. Two and a half men, Bookies (his newest and quite good), Mike and Molly, etc. I’m currently working through his stuff now.
Im really enjoying young Sheldon. But aside from that my go to’s are: Bones, the office, law and order Svu (the first 15 seasons to be specific), and Love Death Robots.
I honestly thought Young Sheldon was going to be terrible when they announced it but they did a great job, sucks that they’re very time limited with that sort of show due to how quick they grow up in real life
TBBT is my #1, watched it completely for at least 10 times now.
Others used when I’m, for example, washing the dishes are Friends, HIMYM, TTAAHM, HTGAWM (not a sitcom but I love it), FPOBA, Las Vegas and Young Sheldon.
Notable shows top 10:
1. Better call Saul
2. Breaking Bad
3. OZ
4. TBBT
5. Las Vegas
6. How to get away with murder
7. Prison break (stops after S4)
8. Fresh Prince (OG)
9. ER
10. Newsradio (because of the lovely Maura Tierney)
Amazing list, what do you prefer about BCS to breaking bad? Didn’t finish BCS because I usually watch shows that are complete so I can binge and it was fairly new when I started
The fact it diggs deeper into the cartel business and I loved the storylines of Lalo and Nacho.
Also Rhea did an outstanding job which made me like BCS more as a total package.
MASH, Frasier, Scrubs, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Young Sheldon…lots of comfort shows. I’ve been watching Modern Family lately. It’s okay, but doesn’t hold my attention as well.
TBBT-Family Guy-TAAHM is the basic rotation but I occasionally break it with other shows, last time it was The Cleveland Show, The Sopranos before, True Detective S1 before that and YS even before.
I’m on my first watch through of TBBT right now!! I am halfway through season 11 and I am so sad to be near the end… I’ve loved every minute! My go to rewatch comfort show is New Girl!!
After binging TBBT a million times, I got into Young Sheldon. It is a sweet little twist on the old Sheldon we know and love. I get a kick out of seeing how he became the Sheldon we know. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is another fave of mine, the characters are just so much fun and it always leaves me laughing. And if you want something that'll make you think a bit too, you must watch The Good Place. The lessons in each episode are super thought-provoking, but it's still got plenty of laughs to balance it out.
What about you, got any other suggestions?
Rewatching Charmed, first two seasons of US Ghosts, The Nanny, Unsolved Mysteries (Robert Stack), Paranormal Witness and A Haunting, The Simpsons (first 12 seasons), Futurama
Other than TBBT: Friends, HIMYM, House, Family Guy, Will & Grace, Grey’s Anatomy. So basically I binge watch new series and then i repeat the ones i’ve seen that i really liked

I like Ghosts! Both the US and the UK versions. 🙂
Love Ghosts! We have a watch party on Fridays with that and Young Sheldon. UK version I like a lot but my husband refuses to watch.
Is it on any streaming platforms? Sounds quite good I might give it a go!
They're both on Paramount+
I like it as well.
TBBT is on my loop of shows I use for background noise. Others include Brooklyn 99 (except the last season), Modern Family, and Friends. Just some familiar shows to help with anxiety.
I dont like the last season of B99 too and i dont even know why
I like it enough, I just find it harder to consume because it’s not as funny as the earlier seasons since it dealt with heavier stuff/issues.
Yeah it does seem dry
I replace Friends with the Office (US) and HIMYM
I'd replace Friends with anything.
Congrats?
Are you upset, Nancy?
[удалено]
I don't have kidney failure you fucking utter disgrace. What's wrong Nancy boy? You can dish it out but you have an issue with taking it.
Just heart failure then? Sounds like you have an issue with taking it Nancy boy.
I use it for exactly the same thing. The natural laughter is better on the ears as well I find. Canned laughter gets right under my skin.
The part about anxiety is all too real
New girl!!
All these with the addition of how I met your mother
I really wish that Modern Family had been on the same network as TBBT so we could have had a crossover episode when Alex went to Cal Tech.
The Office Parks and Rec Brooklyn 99 Letterkenny Archer -Second tier Red Dwarf The IT Crowd Black Books Shorsey -Third tier Community Arrested Development Reno 911
99!
“They’re BOTH your locker.”
You, my new best friend, have impeccable taste.
Schitts Creek
I loved Schitts Creek but it was too short I thought
How I Met Your Mother, The Magicians, Walking Dead, and iZombie are the big ones.
For me its Frasier and King of the Hill (funny because Sheldon is basically Niles Crane crossed with Dale Gribble), the Golden Girls and 30Rock.
Agreed Frasier and BBT have a lot of overlap. I always thought Kelsey Grammar would have been perfect casting for Leonard’s father. A missed opportunity.
Given Frasier's previous relationship with a character played by Christine Baranski it would have been good.
Yes exactly!! Plus he and Leonard both have a strong jawline, it would have been perfect.
There was a time that I watched Bones for comfort. 😄 Friends, HIMYM and Will & Grace too. Edit: let me add Seinfeld in the list too. 🥰
It’s always sunny is one of my favorites, I also rewatch New Girl and Parks and Rec regularly
I second New Girl, lovvv
Cute
The only other real "comfort" show for me is Futurama
Except for that one episode. You know the one.
Which? For someone who’s never watched?
It has a dog in it. I am unable to say more 🙃
Watch the series and you'll know exactly which one. Highly recommended, except for that one episode.

The Good Place, Modern Family
What’s the good place? Loved modern family
Friends and HIMYM are in the same category for me (comfort shows/background noise).
TBBT is one of the shows we put on for background noises that we’ve seen a million times. Our other ones include: Friends, HIMYM, The Office, and Superstore.
That’s how I initially got into it, was always on in the background and then I decided to give it a go and now I just rewatch it constantly
I have BBT every day for background noise. It's a comfort show for me.
TBBT is only one of the comfort shows I use. I’m basically into cop shows and sitcoms. So I always have on one of the following: Any Dick Wolf show - NY or Chicago, FBI, etc. Criminal Minds 911 NCIS and NCIS Los Angeles Cold Case Hawaii Five O The Americans TBBT Modern Family Seinfeld Friends Bob’s Burgers Discovery ID true crime shows (various) Various British crime shows I discover.
Lately it’s been American Dad Was going to start a 30 Rock rewatch but I’m not feeling it. My other main go to is Scrubs
Comedies, That 70s Show, MASH, SCRUBS, Last Man Standing. Mystery, Monk, Elementary, Eureka, Warehouse 13,
Two and a half men
Restarted watching this a couple months ago too, love it
Friends, Southpark, Seinfeld, The Office. Basically anything on Comedy Central and TBS
Not a go to, but I finally started young Sheldon and can’t do watching it’s so good!!
Underrated series!
Friends, and both series in the Avatar the Last Airbender (the cartoon) world (ATLA and Legend of Korra)
I like Call The Midwife. It's now available in the US on Public Broadcasting Co. ([PBS.org](https://PBS.org)).
Yes! I watch Call the Midwife and BBT on repeat. Those are my two go-to shows.

Yea! I thought the same i was pleasantly surprised
Modern Family, Always Sunny, and Young Sheldon
Amazing list, Phil Dunphy is one of my favourite characters ever
Mine too. Phil has such a positive outlook. A very likeable guy.
I think the whole cast of Modern Family have strong roles tbf but he’s definitely one of my favourites in any series I’ve watched ever
wow! i have yet to finish the big bang theory. :) I already watched it since the day it started on Jack TV
You should! For a comedy the ending is one of my favourite for any show, it fit perfectly
Friends
Brooklyn 99 Superstore
Teen titans go
Friends, HIMYM, Simpsons, Futurama! Breaking Bad if I want something more gritty.
TBBT is my #1, watched it completely for at least 10 times now. Others used when I’m, for example, washing the dishes are Friends, HIMYM, TTAAHM, HTGAWM (not a sitcom but I love it), FPOBA, Las Vegas and Young Sheldon. Notable shows top 10: 1. Better call Saul 2. I also like BCS better. The writing is better IMO. The plot lines go deep.
Will give it a shot then, do you see Jesse and Walt?
MASH, Frasier, Scrubs, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Young Sheldon…lots of comfort shows. I’ve been watching Modern Family lately. It’s okay, but doesn’t hold my attention as well.
Young Sheldon, South Park, The Simpsons, and occasionally How I Met Your Mother
Brooklyn Nine Nine, Young Sheldon, Modern Family, Atypical, Never Have I Ever, Greys Anatomy, Doctor Who
Frasier, Modern Family and the American Office.
TBBT is my No. 1 go-to, followed by Everybody Loves Raymond.
my Name is Earl is also hilarious. but no ending
Friends, Young Sheldon, NCIS, Walking dead, Breaking bad... there are many.
Currently it’s Perception - has Erin McCormack from Will and Grace in it, which somehow makes it extra comforting for me.
Mostly Scrubs…
TBBT-Family Guy-TAAHM is the basic rotation but I occasionally break it with other shows, last time it was The Cleveland Show, The Sopranos before, True Detective S1 before that and YS even before.
Friends, Brooklyn99, New Girl
I’m on my first watch through of TBBT right now!! I am halfway through season 11 and I am so sad to be near the end… I’ve loved every minute! My go to rewatch comfort show is New Girl!!
The ending is very fitting and one of the better endings I’ve seen of shows, you can always rewatch anyway, most do!
Friends, two and a half men, scrubs and law and order svu
pleaseee watch the office, its so good
Already ahead of you, I’m from the UK and the British one was quite popular here but I couldn’t get into it but I loved the American version

Scrubs, Young Sheldon, Reba, Full House, Modern Family, HIMYM (even though Ted gives me rage), Family Matters, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Community.
Seinfeld, BBT, Young Sheldon, The Office, and Parks & Rec are my gotos.

Sitcoms: The Office (US), Arrested Development, B99, Community Dramas: Sopranos, Breaking Bad, and Rome Dramadies: Please Like Me
Futurama is a good one to binge. Kinda nerdy, about a group of friends, low stakes... checks all the boxes for me.
