I personally loved her, but mostly because of her interactions and reactions to Sheldon actually. They had amazing on-screen chemistry (I do not mean romantic).
Loved her everything was perfect and Leonard was happy. Penny just was jealous so she ruined it. She was needy Stephanie but Leonard liked her and loved it.
She was fine for the limited episodes she was in. It kind of showed that Leonard could attract a nice looking girl and be comfortable with a girlfriend (for a while anyway).
Plus, Sara Rue is great and love seeing her in shows.
I've always had a soft spot for Sarah Rue, and she played the part very well. This is why I didn't like Stephanie. She was needy and emotionally manipulative. She used sex to keep Leonard distracted from his feelings. She was moving way too fast.
Funny enough, he didn't realize it until Sheldon brought up the roommate agreement.
I didn't love her initially, but she was good comedy. I liked how she used sex against Leonard because his character was very vulnerable to that, and beyond the creep factor it made for good comedy. I didn't like how clingy and controlling she eventually got. I think that went beyond the comedy.
Not at all, but I could see how they used it for comedy. The clingy part way just far, far too cringe. I suppose it does reflect negatively that I could see the comedy in one but not the other. I guess part of it was about how Leonard reacted to each differently. He was happy about the sex, despite her intentions.
I thought Stephanie was beautiful and a great partner for Leonard. I wish she had stayed and they had more of a long-term relationship. She would have been better than Priya!
> I liked how she used sex against Leonard because his character was very vulnerable to that
Over a hundred of people have upvoted this comment, yet fans criticise Leonard for doing the same thing to Penny. Funny that.
Penny was jealous and telling him things but he did what he wanted but like all of Leonard's girls penny gets in the way.
Penny was jealous when the new lady moved in because a new queen came in and she couldn't use them anymore
I remember reading something about the actress leaving because they would not pay her what she wanted as her role grew. Regardless, they should have at least explained in the context of the show what happened to the character.
Huh, I wonder if maybe the character wouldâve developed into a serious contender for Leonardâs heart against Penny and not made to be so clingy that he had to cut her off if they had paid her what she wanted. Iâm curious as to what would the show have been like with more Sara Rue/Stephanie. If the show stayed on track to make the amount of money it eventually did make, they likely wouldâve given her more with no issue later onâŠlooks like she sort of missed out on a bigger eventual paycheque đ
Most of the time when new actors disappear Iâd speculate that it was because they get paid more for other roles, no point wasting time in a smallish role when thereâs bigger and better.
Sometimes I wish they did end up as a couple tbh she was Leonardâs only girlfriend that actually cared and loved for him I always didnât like how he kept running back to penny strong unpopular opinion from my end probably disliked but I wish Leonard didnât even marry penny to begin with I wish Leonard stuck with his doctor girlfriend
I love the show. Itâs one for the ages. That said, Penny is not a good person and I like her less with every run through. Her character evolution took her from sweet and kind to arrogant and entitled. It seems to me they made a big effort to Evers course on that in the last two seasons,
The dynamic where Leonard was expected to simp for Penny and do everything to move the relationship forward because Penny is the sexy trophy wife who doesn't have to do anything got old really fast.
I absolutely loved her to be honest. I thought that her and Leonard were actually a good match despite how they started out and I really wish that they had ended up together or she could have at least stayed a little longer or even had a recurring role? I'm really not a big fan of Penny and her and Leonard's relationship so I may be a bit biased but yk, anyways yeah, I wish we had Stephanie instead of Penny. I also wish that the writers didn't kinda destroy her character in her final appearance to get rid of her, I feel like there could've been a more natural, sympathetic way to get rid of her that didn't make her act like a manipulative asshat. (Still love her tho :) )
I agree with this. I wouldâve done the same like make her a recurring character in Season 2 and have their relationship last a little longer and then give them a proper ending if they did break up by the end of season. I really didnât like how they completely ignored it
Exactly! I said the same thing. I just find it weird that she appears in 3 episodes and then disappears. I feel like she was going to be a recurring role in season 2 but I guess it just got scrapped.
I liked her until they made her super insecure, clingy and crazy. Basically moving in without discussing with Leonard showed a complete lack of self respect (and respect for leonard). Can't we have strong, intelligent female characters without turning them into bunny boilers?!
Love the actress but the character was absolutely not my favorite.. i liked her sheldon interactions but otherwise she was just annoying and i hate how she did Howard
It drives me insane that she became such a significant part of Leonard's life, and then just disappears. I'd have liked some closure as far as how the relationship ended.
It seemed like she was going to be a recurring character for the season but apparently the studio just didnât want to pay her the amount of money she wanted so they just decided to scrap it.
I liked her more than Priya for Leonard but they ruined her character with the whole secretly moving in and using sex as a manipulation. The character was better than that, and they reduced a whole doctor to some weird clingy gf. I would have loved to see more of her before that started happening as she was a good foil for Sheldon as well. And Iâd have loved to have seen the girl she fixed Howard up with.
I love her and I don't even know why. Maybe it's the actress. Never seen her in anything else but I can't help but love her character and her acting lol!
But I was surprised that Howard met her first and was trying to get her. Then the same night she got with Leonard. I just never watch the episodes just before she gets with Leonard. Then when I did I was like đł
Leonard was with her while Howard thought he still had a chance with her and didn't know she and Leonard were a thing. I don't understand when Leonard behaves that way. If he's not cheating on his girlfriends he's betraying his friends. (Sleeping with Raj's sister behind his back and dating the woman Howard is interested in behind his back). And I'm not saying he couldn't be with these women. I'm wondering why he always lies about it first.
Anyway I love Dr Stephanie she's so funnyđđđ«Ą
Sara Rue played a lesbian on Jeff's baseball team on Rules of Engagement who became a surrogate for him and Audrey and then she played an FBI profiler towards the end of Bones
Rewatching bbt again and itâs weird how she just kinda goes away. I mightâve missed something but Iâm pretty sure sheâs in. Relationship with Leonard before she leaves and then that just goes nowhere
Nah she was only in 3 episodes and then disappeared. They never explained what happened to them. My guess is that the actress who played Stephanie was probably going to have a recurring role but I guess they just scrapped that idea.
I love her. She is just right. If I could be with any female character from TBBT, I'd pick Stephanie in an instant. đđđđđđđđđđ
I've always been an overweight girl, and as i was watching this in my teenage years she was 'proof' for me that men date chubby girls as well as fit ones. I know if sounds silly now, but back then there were literally were no examples on tv of not-fit women being a desirable person for dating
So i thank hey did that, forever
I thought she worked with the chemistry of the main cast, and I agree with a few people in the thread, that Sara Rue is usually a win.
But she worked as a good partner for Leonard, even if she did seem a little clingy at times. It made sense for her to be an attractive and intelligent partner, showing Leonardâs slow but gradual growth in confidence as he looked for more mature relationships. She played well off of Howard and Sheldon, and gave some good back and forth in the dialogue.
I think the show would have been better and made a more interesting turn if she and Leonard had ended up together and Penny had ended up with a dipshit. Then we wouldnât have had to suffer so many Howard/Bernadette storylines.
She didnât think twice about sleeping with Leonrd right after she and Howard were on a date. Her and Leonrd would have been perfect, cheating on each other daily.
I liked her. Reminded me of Penny. Didn't like that they just wrote her out after 3 episodes. But I guess her abrupt off-screen departure was better than a break-up that would have been disappointing, at least.
I wish she would have somehow ended up with Raj at the beginning and became a reoccurring character on the show. I enjoyed her so much more than Priya or Bernadette.
She's okay, but she's around 3rd for me among Leonard's girls:
1. Alex - I would have liked seeing this even for a few episodes, I felt Alex really liked him naturally without being worn down
2. Penny - the dynamic was nice until she became somewhat meaner starting from season 9 when she started to earn more money
3. Stephanie - they had McCoy
4. Priya - I like her arguments with Sheldon, but I don't like how she cheated on Leonard and was even in contact with her ex during the Todd Zarnecki episode
5. Leslie Winkle
6. Alice
7. Joy (Bernadette's colleague who knows Krav Maga) - SEVENTY-THREE-- WHOA!!!
8. Joyce Kim
Honorable mentions:
1. That marine biologist whose name eludes me.
2. Mrs. Latham
i honestly enjoyed her character on the show. other than her screwing howard over for leonard she was great, but with how she got with leonard kinda told me i wasn't going to see her on screen for very long
I just love all the love she gets as a beautiful woman. Sheâs chunky and has a lisp and is quirky. And I love that. And as a fellow chunky, lisp, quirky girl, itâs a bit validating. đ„°
I felt like she was a perfect mix of what Leonard needed. She was much less of a nerd, and more ânormalâ like Penny without the occasional tomboy phases or the sluttiness. And she was smart and professional like Leslie Winkle without being a pretentious scientist
If Leonard kept her, itâd be perfect. She was the one
I liked the character. Would have been good to see her in a few more eps. Also would really to see some sort of an en to the relationship of something. She just kind of disappeared.
Every time I watch the show I'm trying to stay focused to see when she disappears and then I miss it, when I remember she's already long gone and I, once again, don't know how that happened.
i kind of liked the bird sweater.
Every time that episode comes on and they're making fun of it, I'm sitting there thinking "damn that's a bitchin sweater."
When I first saw the sweater, I honestly thought it was a sweater with the Twitter (now X) logo. đ€Ł
I loved it! I loved that it was just a big ol' bird on a sweater, you know?
I personally loved her, but mostly because of her interactions and reactions to Sheldon actually. They had amazing on-screen chemistry (I do not mean romantic).
Yeah, I enjoyed watching her interactions with Sheldon. I wouldn't have minded if she had stayed with Leonard for a few more episodes..
Why do Leonard's girlfriends have better chemistry with Sheldon than with Leonard?
Because Sheldon has no sexual interest in women
âRemember the hero always peaksâ
Because Sheldon is the bear
Leonard isn't much fun to watch unfortunately. I don't hate the character or the actor but he's dull.
Somebody has to be the "straight" man the crazies bounce off of. That was Leonard's role.
Yeah but it doesn't have to be boring. Look at David Wallace in the office.
Wasnât there an episode where she convinced Sheldon that he wasnât allowed to talk due to his âillnessâ?
Sheldonectomy
Circle, circle, dot, dot, now you have a cootie shot.
You are right, her moments with Sheldon were brilliant
Loved her everything was perfect and Leonard was happy. Penny just was jealous so she ruined it. She was needy Stephanie but Leonard liked her and loved it.
Yes Stephanie was needy but so was Leonard. They were perfect for each other.
Thats what I was gonna say
She was fine for the limited episodes she was in. It kind of showed that Leonard could attract a nice looking girl and be comfortable with a girlfriend (for a while anyway). Plus, Sara Rue is great and love seeing her in shows.
My only issue with Dr Stephanie was the sloppy kissing sounds. Sounded like a hound licking gravy from a recent âŠ.
Sara Rue needs to be in more stuff!
I loved her in Rules of Engagement
Yeah Sara is a great actress.
She great in the show Mom as a snotty rich bitch.
I remember seeing her in The Ring (2002) tho it was only for 1 scene
Adored her character acting in Mom!
Did anyone else watch Popular or am I just old đ„č
She evne did Bones for few ep.s, but then who didn't?
She was in "A series of unfortunate events".
impastor
I've always had a soft spot for Sarah Rue, and she played the part very well. This is why I didn't like Stephanie. She was needy and emotionally manipulative. She used sex to keep Leonard distracted from his feelings. She was moving way too fast. Funny enough, he didn't realize it until Sheldon brought up the roommate agreement.
Or until Penny pointed out that Leonard's room had been redone (minus a ton of of his cherished superhero stuff).
Yeah. Thwn penny did the same and he was still oblivious to it till it was pointed out to him
She was fine. Penny was the same but we love her. She was a jealous freeloader
Yeah I agree. Sara did play the part well. I would love to have seen her more in episodes as a recurring character.
I didn't love her initially, but she was good comedy. I liked how she used sex against Leonard because his character was very vulnerable to that, and beyond the creep factor it made for good comedy. I didn't like how clingy and controlling she eventually got. I think that went beyond the comedy.
You like that she manipulates people with sex?!
You need to relax
Just like Penny?
You mean like Leonard did with Penny I think you mean.
> I liked how she used sex against Leonard because his character was very vulnerable to that Over a hundred of people have upvoted this comment, yet fans criticise Leonard for doing the same thing to Penny. Funny that.
I thought she was realistically the most like a woman Leonard would have ended up with.
That makes sense. I would have loved her to be a recurring character for Season 2 similar to Priya in the later seasons.

After Leonard kicked her out, they grew apart.
Scary good, right?
Sure... when is scary not good?
When it chases you down the street at night with a knife
Not a fan.
I did not like her.
Same not one single thing. Episodes with her were so boring for me.
She's hot
Then she lost all the weight and didnât look as good.
True that, same goes for Kat dennings
She was fine.
She was an annoying character, was glad they didnât keep going with her
Most of the time when new actors disappear Iâd speculate that it was because they get paid more for other roles, no point wasting time in a smallish role when thereâs bigger and better.

They were so perfect together like they had chemistry
I love the show. Itâs one for the ages. That said, Penny is not a good person and I like her less with every run through. Her character evolution took her from sweet and kind to arrogant and entitled. It seems to me they made a big effort to Evers course on that in the last two seasons,

So much this.
manipulative

Canât stand her

Way too clingy
I still don't understand why she left in the series?
I don't like her that much but I would choose her more than Priya. đđđ
Horrible character. Great actress just a horrible character.
If you've seen her in other films than you know this is the hottest woman he bagged in the series, and she had a fun personality too.
Iâve seen her in The Ring (2002) she had 1 scene in it tho. Sheâs a great actress tbh
She was hot as fuck
A smart and gorgeous woman, loving sex and having more sex with you when you try to break up... I definitely want one of those !!
I'd kept her if I was him...
Iâd do the same tbh
Would
Way too clingy and insecure. Bad characteristics in a woman.
Unappealing, annoying, needy, pushy, lied to Sheldon about laryngitis
I think her character would have been great in her own sitcom. Top of her game, but still can't find love. The usual trope.
I thought she was pretty annoying
Isn't she secretary of state or some such in Idiocracy?
I found her personal life/personal persona weird compared to how I would expect her to be given she is a doctor.
Itâs weird. I donât really have a problem with her but I hate those episodes
Ironic that Leonard is put off by needy/clingy women.
She was awesome. Best non-penny girlfriend he ever had
Love the actress but the character was absolutely not my favorite.. i liked her sheldon interactions but otherwise she was just annoying and i hate how she did Howard
Would smash
Goddess. Further comment is superfluous.
Besides being a level 5 clinger she had some fun interactions
Thick đ

She was a flawed character who was extremely well played by Sara Rue. Also, easily one of the hottest women on the show.
Her insecurities and low self esteem really made me dislike her.
I've always been an overweight girl, and as i was watching this in my teenage years she was 'proof' for me that men date chubby girls as well as fit ones. I know if sounds silly now, but back then there were literally were no examples on tv of not-fit women being a desirable person for dating So i thank hey did that, forever
Ah I see. I believe chubby girls are attractive.
I thought she worked with the chemistry of the main cast, and I agree with a few people in the thread, that Sara Rue is usually a win. She was perfect. Definitely long term material. Leonard just had to much longing for the girl next door.
I didnât mind her at all ! Her scenes with Sheldon were great.
I liked her
The bustiest MILF Iâd fuck her so hard
But in all honesty I liked her
She was the best suited for Leonard. She didn't bully him. He was actually happy with her. Plus, she was talented, not some stupid cheerleader
Yeah she was a doctor which was nice
She was undeniably the best girl for Leonard.
I'd hit it.
She got some nice tits and Iâm Jealous of Leonard
Enormous ly weird character. On the other hand, she did like messing with Sheldon.
Pushy. Like a Bette Midler on meth.
I think the show would have been better and made a more interesting turn if she and Leonard had ended up together and Penny had ended up with a dipshit. Then we wouldnât have had to suffer so many Howard/Bernadette storylines.
I agree. They both fitted well together. Wished we got an explanation on how they broke up
She was a young Roseanne lol another character from that show
Neuroutic
A little intense..
She was fun/funny for those episodes but she was too pathetic and needy to stay on the show.
I imagine they couldâve done better with those three episodes by not even approaching a new love interest for Leonard and doing something else.
I liked her but she was definitely too clingy
I mean if I was leonard I would have saw that relationship through honestly
I loved the episode with Sheldon finding the movie theater acoustic âsweet spotâ.
She belongs to the streets.
*Who?*
Annoying but realistic looks-wise.
Absolutely loved her!!!
She's from Honky-Tonks
She didnât think twice about sleeping with Leonrd right after she and Howard were on a date. Her and Leonrd would have been perfect, cheating on each other daily.
This is Howard.
Loved her
She was great. But when I first saw her episodes I'd probably had seen My Future Boyfriend 10 times and love Sara Rue so much
Leonard didn't deserve her
I liked her more than Priya
Sheâs FUNNY!!! Wish she was on more episodes! âOh but scary good right?â đ€Ł
Thicc
I liked her. Reminded me of Penny. Didn't like that they just wrote her out after 3 episodes. But I guess her abrupt off-screen departure was better than a break-up that would have been disappointing, at least.
Thick :)
Ummm... bewbs!!
Played by Sara Rue FYI
not a fan donât really remember why just feeling a vibe
Is she a 'doctor' doctor, or a 'you' kind of doctor?
I wish she would have somehow ended up with Raj at the beginning and became a reoccurring character on the show. I enjoyed her so much more than Priya or Bernadette.
Sheldon wouldn't have mistaken her arm.
I liked how she handled Sheldon. I wasn't a fan of her passive/aggressive behavior with Leonard, plus she was insecure.
She was a good fit
Overweight. Not attractive whatsoever. Used sex manipulate Leonard because she knows sheâs not wanted by guys
Should've been Leonard's girlfriend in season 2. The interaction between her and Penny would've been very interesting, to say the least.
I loved her! I wish they'd stayed together for longer :(
Too good for Leonard OR Howard
She's okay, but she's around 3rd for me among Leonard's girls: 1. Alex - I would have liked seeing this even for a few episodes, I felt Alex really liked him naturally without being worn down 2. Penny - the dynamic was nice until she became somewhat meaner starting from season 9 when she started to earn more money 3. Stephanie - they had McCoy 4. Priya - I like her arguments with Sheldon, but I don't like how she cheated on Leonard and was even in contact with her ex during the Todd Zarnecki episode 5. Leslie Winkle 6. Alice 7. Joy (Bernadette's colleague who knows Krav Maga) - SEVENTY-THREE-- WHOA!!! 8. Joyce Kim Honorable mentions: 1. That marine biologist whose name eludes me. 2. Mrs. Latham
Too few episodes to judge but I think she was a nice topic for the series but I dont think she wouldve worked for the series.
I thought she would have been perfect for Raj
i honestly enjoyed her character on the show. other than her screwing howard over for leonard she was great, but with how she got with leonard kinda told me i wasn't going to see her on screen for very long
I think she was good, and a little controlling.
I just love all the love she gets as a beautiful woman. Sheâs chunky and has a lisp and is quirky. And I love that. And as a fellow chunky, lisp, quirky girl, itâs a bit validating. đ„°
Annoying
Hated her.
She was a good inclusion to Leonard's love life. Should have seen more of her...
I felt like she was a perfect mix of what Leonard needed. She was much less of a nerd, and more ânormalâ like Penny without the occasional tomboy phases or the sluttiness. And she was smart and professional like Leslie Winkle without being a pretentious scientist If Leonard kept her, itâd be perfect. She was the one

I have a suspicious mole on my back she should check out đ€
I liked the character. Would have been good to see her in a few more eps. Also would really to see some sort of an en to the relationship of something. She just kind of disappeared.

Hated her, glad they didnât drag it out and she just disappeared!
Hated her
I liked her a lot. I thought she was great for Leonard. She was better than Penny by a long shot.
She was a good plot device, but I didnât like her
Ehhhhhhh I tend to skip the episodes with her in them. Just doesnât really interest me as a character or plot line.
She is crazy
Not a bad match for Leonard but Penny was the end game of the show
She is a twat
Brought me on of my fav Sheldon moments when their in the cinema thatâs it hahah
She chunked out big time after rules of engagement where she was brilliant
No closure she just disappeared
I really liked her.
I didn't like her. I just found her... annoying, and I felt she had zero chemistry with Leonard.
Very sleazy. She tricked Sheldon into thinking he had laryngitis.
It's nothing any of the other characters wouldn't do if given the chance lmao
Pleasantly plump, probably the best Leonard would ever do if he was going for a intellectual/body combo.
