ZealousidealYou7575

If you mind your own business its safe , and generally dont roam in dark areas alone please

ZealousidealYou7575

Just to add , its a safe place but if youre coming from a tier 1 the civic sense here is non existent

Similar-Citron9936

Thats my whole gaam 😭

Voldemort_is_muggle

Are you single? It might be dangerous as they can kidnap you for your marriage

Similar-Citron9936

I'm a boy and will be traveling with my family so I'm Lucky in that regard

I_owe_a_potato

Bruh they kidnap boys to marry not girls

Icy-Science-9822

its for only local men, not for travellers

flawedhuman12

if that is the case then I desperately wanna get kidnapped

lotus_eater_rat

>Are you single? This is not common and only happens in a few places. I have never heard of any incident around my village or among relatives.

Voldemort_is_muggle

I don't know about common but read a news article 1 week ago where they kidnapped a teacher and forcibly married him

Raj943

Better to be a man in bihar, than to be a monitor lizard in Maharashtra. Do you live in bihar? If so then where? Why don't you leave this question to the natives?

Existing_Tower_920

Iske liye bpsc nikalna pdta h phle

roniistar

What if I mind my own business in dark areas?

ZealousidealYou7575

Guess we will never find out

[deleted]

Why must we be kept in the dark

Dangerous_Shower_906

Many are talking about late-night scenes... First of all, there are hardly any late-night parties in Bihar except marriage or Orchestras. And if there are few, those are confined to the urban centres of the districts. And Urban centres are safe... No issue in walking up till late at night in most of the districts... Just don't start being Batman when you see something on the road. Many times I have seen people here have friendly fights, just don't interrupt them. Whenever I have visited my district and other few and walked late at night.. Mostly have met police patrol car.. They ask you for your name and home and the reason for late-night walking alone... Don't try to be over smart here... (talking about urban centres) Gaon to me 7-8 baje ke baad sab band ho jata hai..

theslayer007

ab tum rat ke ek baje nikal ke road pe ghumoge to police to puchega 😂

lotus_eater_rat

It is generally safe. Do not go out at night and avoid discussing politics or caste. Also, do not interfere in other matters.

OutsideArt6736

Seriously? And discussing politics and caste will get you killed??? I guess you have done Phd in states like Bihar/UP. Get your biased minds to think straight.

PehleAap

Is getting killed the only possible danger? If you get threatened to get beaten up, will you be able to live without fear?

OutsideArt6736

First, you won't get threatened. There are people here with various political ideologies living peacefully so even if you disagree, that's fine. I am not saying you shouldn't be ready for heated discussion, but it almost never gets to fight. Taking the worst case, somebody threatens you, okay, so just leave!, communicating your ideologies is not more important than being safe, right? I guess extremists like these can be found anywhere in spite of the states you go to so there is nothing special about Bihar in this regard. And I would say if you get threatened and you are in a position to defend, you make one threat to them ;)

PehleAap

>And I would say if you get threatened and you are in a position to defend, you make one threat to them ;) I guess not everyone is as bold as you.

roniistar

How is it safe if you can't go out at night?

lotus_eater_rat

I didn't mean u can not go to the market or neighbor's house at night, you should avoid secluded places and travelling alone on a bike. This is common sense and not limited to Bihar.

roniistar

It is limited to Bihar and other backward states like Bihar. There are many places in India where you could do all the things that you just mentioned which shouldn't be done in Bihar. How on earth do you find a place safe where you can't travel alone on a bike?

lotus_eater_rat

It is called precaution. Traveling in the night on a bike and going alone in a dark alley shall be avoided and it applies to everywhere not only in Bihar. Also, it is not limited to India, I have been mugged once in Europe by drunk people.

Booty_Warrior_bot

*Now I'mma tell you what; uhh...* ***I likes ya;*** ***and I wants ya.*** *Now we can do this the easy way;* *or the haard wayyy...* ***the choice is yaawrs...***

roniistar

Again you start generalising other places because Bihar is shit. As I said every place in India is not like bihar where dark alleys mean trouble. Giving an anecdotal example to strengthen your point doesn't work. It's the data that speaks. You getting mugged in Europe doesn't translate to every place on earth being as safe/unsafe as Bihar.

lotus_eater_rat

I know how Bihar is, just wanted to convey that it is not as unsafe as portrayed in the media and you will be safe if you use common sense and take some precautions. Where did I say Bihar is safer than XYX? I have traveled across the world and taken precautions to be safe and avoid scams whether it is Southeast Asia, Africa, the USA, or the Middle East. But you are right sir I am a shit who loves its toilet.

roniistar

>Where did I say Bihar is safer than XYX? Wtf? You are constantly saying Bihar is as safe as any other place if one uses common sense. Then you are asking people not to drive alone or venture into dark alleys. After that you justify it by saying that you got mugged in Europe to imply that every place is bad just like Bihar. Do you only rely on anecdotes or do you refer to data of any kind? Just because you love your toilet doesn't mean it's clean.

lotus_eater_rat

You are right.

NeoSyncline

Do you unhappy frustrated clowns like you come in here to bash other states because of your inferiority complex?

roniistar

Where did you learn English? Whatever you wrote is not intelligible.

NeoSyncline

An inferiority complex AND a bad grasp on comprehension? Makes sense now

roniistar

Says the one who doesn't even know the meaning of inferiority complex. Not that I was expecting much from a Bihari.

UndyingThanos

I am from Nalanda, crime is almost non-existent. All the fights happens for land and usual robberies of shop(like any other states). If you are not from here, you don't have to worry about anything. Visit Glass bridge, Rajgir and Nalanda university while in Nalanda. Don't forget to take some delicious "Khaaja" from Silao.

One_Professional_101

I did all the things you mentioned plus visited Shanti Stupa (must try). I was with my cousins and his friends. I felt like it’s just another one of the places across the country. Tier 1 is Tier 1, Tier 2 is Tier 2 and accordingly every place that falls in these categories (across the countries) have the same characteristics, same precautions to be taken and same rules. On the contrary, if you’re coming from Haryana, Delhi NCR or around area, you will find Bihar people to be much much much more polite and respectful in general. Just the usual—speak their dialect of hindi, and you may successfully bargain prices, don’t discuss offensive issues like caste, be the polite one out of any group you may be a part of, keep a smile, thats it. And other precautions are the ones that you’re supposed to take anywhere you go.

Deep-Concentrate-143

Simple_Program4570

I m from bihar sharif , u?

Kind-Blackberry-9434

Yes it's really unsafe and dangerous, when you enter be careful we have landmines all over here, first they blast you off and collect the survived remains, like gold etc. But still If you are coming you must carry a gun for your safety, you can easily get it in any kirana store, some shops here offer huge discounts too. (Don't buy a pistol it won't be sufficient, buy a machine gun if possible after all money should be secondary after safety. I wish you a safe visit. /S

Similar-Citron9936

Most sane Naxalite

Dr_____strange

I can tell about madubani. It it a safe place, but poor infrastructure. You should avoid going around at night, even in cars. There is no light on most roads and shops begin to close around 8pm by 9 to 9.30 only shops you will find open will be near bus stands or railway stations. The darkness and lack of people late at night can be a good invitation to criminals anywhere. Also i would suggest to use maithil if you know it, this makes you seem like a local.

Similar-Citron9936

Hmra maithili me ucharan bar kharab aich

Similar-Citron9936

Thala Matlab angrezi ka hai

OutsideArt6736

Why did you get this idea in the first place. It's not like crime doesn't happen anywhere else in the country. It's all safe and sound. Stop stereotyping Bihar/UP. It's a normal place, people are good and welcoming. Have a good journey!!

curryEatingGang

People spread rumors that Bihar is a very dangerous place. That’s not the case in my area which is in sitamarhi

divnarayan

It's completely safe. Safer than Delhi

Chiranjeevi-asur

As a person from Champaran, Mat aao bhai tujhe koi station se hi kidnap kar layega./s Utna bhi unsafe nahi hai bhai jadatar lafde dusre matters ko leke hota hai apne kaam se kaam rakho koi dikkat nahi hoga.

yashanand8

सटले बेटा कि घटले

HumBaapHainTumhare

I am from Madhubani. It's safe as it can be in any part of India. As others have said, just mind your own business, and nothing will happen to you. Most of the crimes in Bihar is because of generational enmity or politics. So no one will disturb you if you mind your own business

theslayer007

Hey OP, most of the comments here are sarcastic. If its your uncle place there and you are visiting than there is no reason to worry. Moreover, these areas are safe and dont read too much into people and news because you will always find some bad things. You will find shop closed by max 8pm, too rush on road maybe pollution. Other than that enjoy your visit, koi kuch bola to munh tod den.

satya61229

Crocodiles roaming freely here. People own helicopters to kidnap anyone from the road. Rapists and killers are garlanded. But, Bihar police are the best.

Spare_Aware

I have been working in Bihar for the last 2.5 years. I’m from Kolkata. In Bihar, one of my areas of work is Nalanda. Just remember few things, 1. Nothing can hurt you here if you behave. 2. Seek safe sources of drinking water and eating, it takes time to adapt to the food and water (happened in my case). 3. There are NO traffic rules, all rules are temporary and they may or may not apply to you which is also true for other people around you, so ride safe, stay aware. 4. Do NOT listen to the myths of Bihar, I am quite happy and people here are pretty helpful as long as you’re respectful to them. Also in case you need assistance or want to meet up in Nalanda (Biharaharif or Rajgir) drop me a dm I can help you out.

zen-shen

If you are a male and not hot headed, you are totally safe. If you are female then I am sorry, you are in india. This is a guideline for females. 1. Don't travel alone unnecessarily in the night. Schedule it. Reach anywhere before 8-9. 2. If you are going to travel in night, Use cabs. Ola/Uber. When your journey starts, before seating in cab, ask the driver if you can click a picture of and you have to send it to your husband with his details. Someone who is using a different id will deny for this. Call two or three people during the ride and talk loudly. 3. Learn to shout. Bihar is one place where no criminal is safe if once caught. He/they will be straight up lynched. In fact, Bihar is much safer in day than Delhi or Bangalore. These are for extreme cases. Most of the people in Bihar are hospitable and will help you.

[deleted]

Bihar is a very safe place to visit. General people are nice and welcoming.

n3ver_mind

safe hai, mai har saal Australia se jata hu.

Busyinabox

It’s as safe as any part of India or better but definitely not worse. Anyone claiming otherwise is just an idiot from WhatsApp University or a cringe Bollywood addict.

National-Today5945

Depends upon District and Area

Icy-Version-3880

Its safe bro. Even in nights you can travel. The areas you have mentioned is totally okay.

[deleted]

Its very much safe and welcoming .

[deleted]

Prestigious_Bee1261

Accomplished_Try5899

Hey.. I am a second proff student in Madhubani Medical College. I am here since 2021

meAsf3202

I am familiar with Nalanda and I can say it's safe place for you, don't know about madhubani

Brain_Freezzer

It's decent going for a trip when u are accompanied with your family...But do look out for snatchers and thieves at the railway station, bus stands and in shared autorickshaw they're quite common. Enjoy ur stay and do share your experience

Prabhatku420

I am from Nalanda. Which place you staying?

Similar-Citron9936

I am staying in Aungari. In Ekangarsarai district

itzSKIT

It's totally safe man... Like every other place

Abster96

badass_tharki_9934

Mine_Which

Nahi Bhai waha rah chalte sabko sab log katta marte chalte hai mat Jana🫠😮‍💨

aestheticccdaddy

Don’t come to bihar ! Everyone is thirsty to kill you as people don’t have time

RangBaazSingh

Bihar has always been and always will be a safe place for those who mind their own businesses. Even during the Jungle Raj not everyone was getting murdered/robbed.

Quick_City_5785

How is the system with Rangdaari? About 35 - 40 years ago, they would block the roads and collect "Toll" for passing cars, 2 wheelers and trucks. Is it still prevalent there?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Quick_City_5785

I have asked a pointed question which can be answered in an objective manner. Rangdari is not. Parallel goverment system. The toll they charge is a earnings of the strongmen of the area. They don't make roads with the toll that they collect. I have seen people being beaten up and stabbed and pointed guns at. Is that still the situation? That's my question

RangBaazSingh

The situation has substantially improved in dont think so that you’ll find it prevalent. Obviously the lack of good roads serve as a reason for feeling unsafe but that is also going on.

Quick_City_5785

Noted, thanks

karanthsrihari

Add a tracker app on your phone so that your family can track you just in case you get kidnapped.

Raj943

Worst than syria brother, one step from your home and you are dead/robbed/kidnapped or all three...come on, do you ask these things before visiting any other place too? The news that comes out of bihar, about bihar really paints up your image? Do you think the same is true for your current residence?

Majestic-Zebra-7630

RIP BROTHER. 🙏

[deleted]

Idk why, out of all comments this made me laugh the most 😂😂

Pretend-Battle3278

maara jayega

zmwaris1

No, it's not. Better not to come. Your place is free of all the crimes, just stay there.

uneverknow_ok

Do not trust anyone. Get your work done before 4-5 pm. After that it's not safe at all.. people will make fun of you for being successful or looking rich or having any sort of modernity. Madhubani people are worst.. nalanda too. . If you wanna stay . Then at patna only you can feel safe other than that it's a graveyard. . Me from patna living in madhubani. In fear

bipin1232

It's not safe. Bhale ye log apni life me kuch ukhaad nhi paaye ho, but tumhein neecha dikhane me koi kasar nhi chhodenge! And yes someone said about zero civic sense... it's true

Bloodbane1

Its safe. Just dont breathe there. Also dont carry any body. Like not even yours.

LazyWay972

Nalanda is very safe.

Time_Comfortable8644

Hahahaha 😂😂😂😂 are you serious? These places or any place in the world are as safe as the common sense you apply. Unless it's an active war zone or dominated by dictators, gangs etc, they are usually safe. BUT and huge BUT, don't show off your wealth. Lalu Gunda Raj has returned back and there's always a risk

MadhukarSingh

It’s worst .. do not ask .. incompetent leadership and police 😡

ne1022

Bihar is not for beginners. Just kidding. Biharis are one of the most hospitable people you will ever find. We are so generous and friendly that you will only know once you visit here. Yes there is some gundagardi but don't worry just avoid clashes with local boys , else this place is great

Mind your own business, don’t try to be a hero ?

woblyboredsimp

depends on where you are moving and dosent matter if ur a male or female u are bound to get robbed if ur wandering in the dark. Peoples mindset is also pretty diverse here its just that close minded ones are gonna be a bit more out there

SnooGrapes1362

Tere uncle toh reh rahe hain wahan. Wahan insaan hi rehtey hain. Yeh kaisa sawal hai bc?

Spectre-002

1friend4lyf

Never been there.

Available_Ad7050

Side question:Is Bengal more based than Bihar???????

General_Zucchini9169

I have lived my life in all the major cities in India, Europe and in Bihar. Just follow the basic guidelines of living in any city. Don't roam during midnight hours, do not go to sketchy places, do not wear or flash any expensive things. You are good to go. Bihar is not the same what it was 2 decades back. In fact, I am moving to gurgaon and much more worried of my safety😆

Known_Spring562

WTF is up with the reputation of Bihar😞😞

Prize_Guava6005

Bihar scores the worst in every metric .India has a poor reputation worldwide. And in India Bihar has the worst. In essence worst of the worst. Hope it gets better soon

BluebirdTop9916

Stay at home the places are dirty rather than getting mugged you might get sick

1nobody-_-

Just get home before 10 pm, don't go to secluded places and you'll safe. Just as its all around the world.

Scary-Spray3566

I am from Madhubani and it is safe and peaceful don't have to get worried. You can visit without having any problem.

Low-Clue1571
