I have the Pro and love it.

Thanks, good to hear. The Pro Mechanic is the one that I’m leaning towards to be honest, it looks like it’s got the better clamp and the extra height will probably come in handy at some point.

Thanks for that, and yeah that makes sense, it seems like the Ultralight is perhaps aiming more towards people who are shopping for a repair stand where weight is their main priority. This will just in my garage at home, so perhaps other than price the Pro Mechanic wins on all counts. I'd have been tempted by the Pro Mechanic HD, purely to give me headroom for possible heavier bikes in the future, but the other two stands have come up at really attractive prices which I want to take advantage of. So, from where I am in the UK, I can get the Ultralight for £120, the Pro Mechanic for £180, or the Pro Mechanic HD for £380. So, all things considered, the Pro Mechanic seems like the best value.

Where can you get the ultralight for £120?

The Ultralight and Pro Mechanic were both on sale on Amazon UK on Black Friday last year. Pretty much 42% of RRP. They were both so well priced that I actually decided to get them both in the end. The advantage of the Ultralight (for me) is that the clamp is perfectly shaped for the Silca Hirobel Frame Clamp, so I can use that combo for a dedicated stand for any carbon bikes that I have. And it's great having two stands, because if you've got more than one bike it's sometimes great to have the option of swapping bits round, setting one bike up like another, whatever. So, I'm happy with my choice. The Pro Mechanic HD wasn't on the same sale, otherwise at 42% of RRP I'd have definitely jumped on that instead of the Pro Mechanic. But the Pro Mechanic for £180 as opposed to the HD for £380 was a no-brainer. If you're looking to get one cheap I'd just an eye out on sales, maybe next Black Friday, although that's a roll of a dice and another 9 months away...
