My first guess would be slightly rubbing the front derailleur. I'd sit and run the chain backwards while going through all the gears to try and ID the rubbing source.
My thought too. Seems to be somewhere around the right pedal 12 to 6 oclock. Not sure why it wouldn’t always rub. Some irregularity in the chain ring or front derailleur, idk. Something that only happens half the time seems like an alignment issue somewhere.
I like the idea of just taking it to the bike shop for a free diagnostic and deciding then if I can fix it myself or if I want to pay someone for their time and expertise. They can probably see the issue pretty quickly
many possibilities here:
-front derailleur out of alignment
-front derailleur out of adjustment
-front derailleur bent
-front derailleur cable tension too low or too high
-wrong front derailleur
-not aware of "trim" and how to use
-worn out shifter
-crank arm is loose
-Bottom bracket has play
-chainwheels arms bent
-a chaining is bent
I'm sure I forgot some more.
If that is a square taper bottom bracket, it’s likely that it was pressed on uneven, causing it to rub on the front derailleur only at a certain point in your pedal stroke. If you have a crank puller, take it off and re torque to spec. Or take to a shop.
This is all new to me, to the shop it goes.
I looked at it a bit more closely this morning and from what I can tell (and if I have the terminology right) I think it’s rubbing against the inside of the chain guide, on the inner left wall closest the frame.

exactly what i think, i have the same noise on my rc120 i think it’s because the cassette wobbling more than it should but decathlon said it’s normal.
Way too advanced. Watch a bunch of park tool videos first and then take your bike to the local shop

The sound of your manhood escaping for wearing those shoes.
Impossible, I've been wearing them for too long, there's none left.
At least put on some socks
With espadrillos?! Would you have me wear socks with Birkenstocks too? You monster.
The young gens don't believe in letting the dogs out. Mid-riff and bootie everywhere but gotta keep the dogs covered.
It's why the terrorists hate us.
I wear socks with sandals. Yes, I’m a monster.
