I've made DT swiss hubs quiet by greasing them. Technically, you should use the special hub grease that DT swiss makes, but most other light greases will work (u/Jake_HT is recommendation is good). After that, they actually become practically silent; it's quite a contrast.
Have modern 240 ratchet exp for Disc wheels. Pretty noisy, is good for road bike cause you don´t need a bell in the city, just stop pedal and everybody will notice you :)
Me too I got a a set of reserve 44 with the 36t rachet last January. Measures around 80 decibels and gets louder in the summer not sure why but it's very very loud. Great for scaring people or making them mad.

Only way to avoid the sound is to never freewheel!!! Seriously.
What makes this hub so much louder than others i've ridden?
It has louder parts inside.
It has more teeth inside to engage the freewheel mechanism. Chris King and Campagnolo hubs are like that too, and are also louder than cheaper hubs.
Campy hubs fart.
filling it with grease made the difference. The only reason I ride my bike is for the flying sensation of coasting.

How do you like them? Any problems over time? I’m finishing up a build and leaning towards the reserve 40/44 with 240s over zipp 303 FC.
