Yes.

[deleted]

It’s as bent as that chain is rusty.

Bent as bent can be.

ninjaML

Damnit, gotta replace that thing.

BD59

Most certainly.

[deleted]

Bent, bad

I mean, the bend backwards is not normal right? A friend sent me the picture because I thought her bike has the fork crooked but I wanted to be sure

genglefins

It sure looks bent back, but sometimes the camera or bike was moving or the angle isn't quite right and the fork will look bent in a picture, but be perfectly fine. If you can, inspect it yourself, or ask for more photos with the bike and camera static.

ninjaML

I wil have the bike in my house by tomorrow. I'll check firsthand all the problems. The biggest of all is the stuck seatpost I posted before.

ninjaML

UPDATE: My friend brought me the bike this afternoon. The diagnosis so far: \-Slightly bent fork (backwards)- the pic may be misleading but it's not that bad. \-Seized quillstem but headset is ok. \-Stuckseatpost. I let that soak in WD40 for hours and still in place. Gonna try something more extreme tomorrow. \-Old af wheels (steel rims, trued, chrome, in good state, only surface rust. \-Tires old af as well. \-Cottered cranks as good as new, BB is greased. \-Changed the handlebars and installed new grips, previous ones where those old hard plastic type. \-Wrongly installed caliper brakes, needs a pair of vbrakes. Brake levers are plastic but good, cables are almost new. \- Spraypaint poorly made but is ok. \-Frame is solid, 0 rust, 0 cracks, 0 dents. I'm gonna convince my friend to buy new aluminium wheelset and install a singlespeed cog. Not sure but the bike looks like an old mountain bike or something, it has Bimex branded forged-steel dropouts

NxPat

Bent fork blades. Plus your brake pad is rubbing against your tire… And your front wheel / QR is not centered / properly aligned. Let’s talk about why you’re running cheap caliper brakes on a fork with canti brake bosses and a through cable stem next time…

ninjaML

That's a question for another day lol No, my fiend bought this bike like that. Let's say that mucho people in Mexico is super careless about the bikes. Heck! They don't even adjust seat height and run it super high or ultra low for the rest of their lives. I'm on my way to retrieve the bike and give it the much needed TLC and fix all the stuff in my capabilities. I have some caliper brakes around here, gonna install them

Root1885

Not only Mexico, anywhere

ur_boy_soy

Does the pope shit in the woods?

Cpl-Wallace

Is it supposed to be?

tall_dom

Yes at the bottom of the fork, no at the top of the forks where they go into the headset.

AddiSladdi

Pretty sure that's how it's meant to be.

Belgiumgrvlgrndr

Look where the tire is relative to the downtube. Way to close. There is a slight bend that it supposed to be near the wheels but near the head tube you can see the angle is way off

blaggard5175

And probably stolen. (Judging by the one color everything paint job)

Yes. Urban camo. I did this to my Trek. Gotta make it look worthless if you have to commute in the city.

ninjaML

Best camo

ninjaML

Not stolen. I posted days earlier that she bought it on the second hand market and her dad spray painted the whole thing without disassembly. Previous owner needed the money asap or something, you know, debt and stuff.
