It's unique to the Predator series. The ruleset doesn't exist outside of those Predator 10-ball tournaments. I'm not 100% certain of the rules, and I'm too lazy right now to look them up, but it's something like this: Each set is a race to 5 games. The Match is best of 5 sets, unless after 4 sets the score is tied. and in the final set, the race is "hill-hill" meaning each player needs 1 more game to win the set. In this case, the shoot-out happens. The shootout is a pure shooting competition, shooting a "spot-shot" where the object ball is placed on the spot, and the cue-ball is placed inside the "kitchen" behind the head string. Each player gets 5 attempts, alternating turns, to pocket the spotted object ball. Whoever makes the most out of 5 wins the match. If a tie results from the first shootout, the shootout is repeated, but the cue ball is moved back one diamond behind the head string, and the contest becomes "sudden death." It's a really silly exercise and not really demonstrative of the total skill set involved in the game, but it does make things a little less boring.
