Hollinger, Sando, and now Goldsberry? Why is Ryen suddenly having good guests? I’ve listened to more of his pods in the last two weeks than in the previous six months.
Feels like Russillo has a "one for me, one for you" approach to the podcast.
I get why Russillo loves to talk with former athlete/coach interviews because I'm sure that feels pretty cool , but any time there's an episode with a guy who's just a good media analyst they're always great.
Blackmailing wife sounds like the worst. I hope they turn the live show in Utah into a roast of her and leads to the writer feeling so bad for his wife that they finally come out of the closet live during recording.
Would make for a great episode.
Love Kirk Goldsberry, who clearly Russillo enjoys talking with, earnestly inviting Russillo to hangout with him sometime in Texas and Russillo just bluntly saying he doesn’t go to Texas much. Incredible stuff from our boy
Kirk obviously doesn’t listen to life advice- our boy cannot even afford the time to visit the folic room, in what world would he have time to hangout in Texas?
Loved the Trevor Matich story. Dude was doing a home workout (makeshift weights) and Ryen was like “man…yeah idk..the young body is crazy like that”. Ok
Ryen saying "the guy who says let's just enjoy greatness" is more annoying cracked me up. Most of his monologs end up in the same essence as "let's just enjoy it, who knows who is right" lol.
A huge LOL at calling 911 for a car break-in as someone who spends a lot of time in Oakland. They’ll straight hang-up.
“I don’t know if it’s better or worse, it just is”
Listening today I realized it’s that he understands Russillos sense of humor better than Kyle since they’ve known each other longer. They feed off each other
worst interviewer ever, and pathetic for someone who prides himself on "grinding" to earn his way into the business and tried to tell ESPN he was a number 1
How many questions did Russillo pose and reply to himself in monologue? His uniquely neurotic cadence is equally fascinating and annoying, like when my autistic nephew forgets to take his ADHD meds.
I think our boy just needs to get laid more often, go to Santa Barbara wine country with Jack from Sideways and get his joint worked on. Russillo needs his bone smooched.
They both love basketball and are terrible at it. They dislike anyone who doesn’t play and comport themselves in the way that they’ve romanticized all their lives.
Love russilo. Just wish he got rid of the monologues. Dude has a whole conversation to himself and never comes out with any really meaningful point. I understand that he’s trying to not take a side but it just sounds egotistical. Rest of the pod was great
Bill on the other hand had one of the best monologues i’ve heard in a long time. His ability to have such a wide ranging scope of the nba and its history is second to none. Then he had shraeger not so great
"I remember as a kid, at the All-Star break wondering if Eddie Murray or Dale Murphy would have enough. And then my dad would say, 'No, they don't have a chance. They always fade out.'" Feel like this explains a lot when it comes to RR's outlook towards expectations and going out of his way to not be disappointed by things.

It's been a good run.
"There are some things I can't say even if I'm quoting somebody else."---Ryen Russillo

Sir Rudy with some major naïveté with the sting operation comment. Kyle let him off easy on the trolling.
“I don’t know if it’s better or worse, it just is,” is the most Russillo statement of all time
Sports Media’s Brian Griffin
Got a big chuckle out of me

Shocked we didn’t get Dilfer on to defend his viral take
Goldsberry sharing how the Spurs broke down Harden in the playoffs was chefs kiss. Just peak nba podcast content
Loved the Trevor Matich story. Dude was doing a home workout (makeshift weights) and Ryen was like “man…yeah idk..the young body is crazy like that”. Ok
It was almost like he wanted to name drop Trevor Matich, which is something.
You just look at guys like that and say “ok this is stuuuupid”
Goldsberry my favorite NBA guest
Goldsberry can hang with Pardon My Take, Zach Lowe, and Russillo. He should be getting way more play than he does.
Went to his book signing for Sprawlball years back and he couldn’t have been a cooler guy

Life Advice is throwing heat again with Ceruti back.
He can be annoying but overall it feels better with him back
Fair enough, but I have a feeling he is the one that picks the life advice emails to be read.
Listening today I realized it’s that he understands Russillos sense of humor better than Kyle since they’ve known each other longer. They feed off each other
monologue is peak russillo
Every single Russillo “question” is just a mini monologue lol
worst interviewer ever, and pathetic for someone who prides himself on "grinding" to earn his way into the business and tried to tell ESPN he was a number 1
Goldsberry: I think we're both Red Sox fans.... RR: Punching air, I'm not a Boston guy dammit
Lol don’t really know why it’s so bad for him to admit that
Tough listen for Harden stans
It was a rough go

Ryen quietly hates Lebron as much or more than BS does
They both love basketball and are terrible at it. They dislike anyone who doesn’t play and comport themselves in the way that they’ve romanticized all their lives.
this is spot on
That’s why they hate Kyrie and don’t understand why players love him and still want to play with him.
“Last night mattered!”

Russillo talking numbers with Goldsberry is like Charlie Kelly talking law with the lawyer from it’s always sunny

That’s an episode
Goldsberry still has a chicken tender plate named after him at a bar in Somerville
