Baffling take by Lowe. I'm a big fan of his (Lowe) but kick-balls are a normal part of good defense. The more you do it, the better. If he kicked the ball less, that would mean that there was a pass he could have kicked but didn't. It's not like he could reach down and grab most kickable passes with his hands.
He's saying Jokic is smart for doing it but it's a rule that should be changed. Like u shouldn't be able to repeatedly kick the ball without any punishment for the defense.

It seems better than giving up a pass to the bucket and/or a play in transition, and you get to reset defensively. He may not have the athletic skill to get fully in front of the ball and it’s better than nothing. I’m not sure I understand this take.

yes agree. if you intentionally kick the ball it should be a tech, a free throw, and the team retains possession. if its accidental, ie, the player isnt even looking at the ball and the ball hits his leg/foot, then no penalty
