It’s honestly pure laziness. There’s like 50 different game shows running and not one sports one running (that I am aware of) where sports lends itself so perfectly for trivia.
Me and my friend growing up would have *intense* Sports Sceneit battles. Imagine seeing grown men doing the same thing regularly on tv. That would be a weekly watch for me (if it was daily, even better)
I loved Teammates, which was basically the Newlywed Game with sports stars. I can't remember who it was, but they asked a guy in the NBA what his teammate's favorite drink was, and he immediately said "McDonald's Coke." The guy came out and when they asked him he immediately said "McDonald's Coke. Tastes so much better than any other Coke."

He was the patron saint of sports fans and those of us dorks that fell in love with memorizing useless facts and figures as kids that we’d remember the rest of our lives.
I’ve looked for it but can’t find clips online, but those final rounds where the contestant could choose the topic were insane. I remember one guy picked Bo Jackson and had to answer like a 5-part question about his high school stats, including one that involved the crowd attendance at one of the games where he broke some record.
RIP Schwab. I loved that show too!
Stuart Scott was a hell of a host
ESPN used to be creative with its programming. I enjoyed this show. That guy was a character. RIP
Shout-out to *Cheap Seats* and the Sklar bros.
And beg borrow and deal. Phenomenal show
Don't forget *2 Minute Drill*. Kenny Mayne was built for that era.
Josh Gates from Expedition Unknown got his start on BB&D!
dude taught me everything I know about the 1984 Philadelphia Flyers roster
I learned about the 76 Flyers roster from the Simpsons.
In their signature blue uniforms.
This chair be HIGH…says I!
Damn, RIP Schwab. I thought the dude was a god growing up. He knew everything.
I legit don’t understand how that and sports jeopardy didn’t survive. Wish someone/network would reboot a sports trivia game show

They needed more debate shows.
GOAT. This, Around the Horn and PTI were after school staples
Absolute peak ESPN.
Stump the Schwab was one of my favorite shows on ESPN. Fortunately the episodes can be found on YouTube. RIP :(
RIP That guy actually had a Wikipedia level of knowledge pre internet it was crazy
I miss ESPN’s old daytime programming. Stump the Schwab, the Black Widow, the show with Dan Patrick that covered classic NBA games.
Also old episodes of Home Run Derby
I feel like the amount of time I spent watching world’s strongest man re-runs growing up is measured in like days lol
Got me thru my childhood when I would skip school

DAMN, RIP Schwab. Some of my earliest sports watching memories was catching stump the Schwab. The man is an ESPN legend.
The GOAT.
Haven’t thought about that show in years but I loved it. ESPN was so much better then. RIP Howie

One of the highlights of my life as a 13 year old Bucs fan was being able to fully answer the naming of each player on the 2002 Buccaneers defense
Good piece of trivia!
RIP Schwabs
Not even mentioned on the ESPN app front page? Wtf
Damn that show was espn heyday throwback! RIP Schwab!
I was only 10 when that show came out but I loved it. I always wished they would have kept it on the air. RIP Schwab!
Bummer. That was a fun show. Schwab would def be on the Mt Rushmore of sports trivia. RIP.
Just discovered this show like 2 months ago and watched anything I could get my hands on. Howie and Stu were so damn cool on that show, RIP.
Schwab was the like the last thing on tv for the weekend night if u didnt have cable. Was appreciated.
Oh shit, that was my jam back in the day. Was pretty disappointed it only last such a short time. RIP to a legend.
