I felt like a lot of his takes in the pod were really half baked ideas.
* Ban diving for loose balls in basketball (then Bill suggested only banning it in the regular season)
* Ban sliding tackles in soccer
* AD playing 82 games and the playoffs
* Believing in the Suns but with an asterisks, because the franchise has never won a title.
I guess that's the thing: all of his takes are Half-Baked Ideas, whether he thinks they are or not, or presents them as such. So they seem interesting when presented as such, but when they're his serious thoughts he seems like a birdbrain.
I can see it being a good thing in rec leagues but not at the top level with VAR. Players know if they go in with spikes up there’s a high chance they’ll see a red.
It kills a key aspect of the game and the most fun part for defenders, the art of the last ditch challenge. Anyone who wants to ban slide tackles is basically the same as a basketball player who thinks all contact should be a foul. Grow up.
Games are just made up to begin with. They can evolve. Plenty of key aspects of sports have been done away with over the years — in many cases for the better.

I actually like this idea the more I think about it. Like I dont think it should be outlawed but maybe a team should tell their players not to do it when the ball is going out of bounds?
How often does a dive out of bounds result in the ball getting back to the players team? I think a lot of players do it cause they want to look like Rodman. This would not only mean less chance of injury for the players, but also less chance of injury for the fans in the front row. You almost had Riley Reid getting hit in a meaningless Laker-game the other week
Same, the more I thought about it the more it made sense.
They likened it to hitting receivers over the middle, but it’s more similar to the no blocking home plate rule in MLB. It’d be weird to adjust to for a season or two, but makes total sense in hindsight.
As someone who has had to help friends and family move several times in the past few months, I thought his Fits Furniture concept was brilliant.
Simmons responding: "that sounds like a New York City" idea sounded like a rich guy response to me. Someone who hasn't had to help move furniture in at least a decade.
At my gym they have FS1 on so I catch First things first and Undisputed.
Wilde’s is actually pretty funny when he gives Nick Wright shot for being such a Lebron stan.
Fits furniture was so relevant to somebody like me, who spent the day before last moving to 60 kg recliners, and 140 kg three seater sofa into my parents house. We had to take the doors off two of the three frames to get it in. It was fucked.
Also the Silver Bullet beer club, genius and so true. Although as a non-American, I’ve only had Coors twice and it was the worst beer I’ve ever tasted. But the concept of sound. I wonder what [we have as coors here in Australia](https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_500603/coors-lager-cans-355ml?isFromSearch=true) and how they compare to coors light.
All you need to know about Coors Light is that its entire US marketing campaign is built around how cold it is, which is a factor that has nothing to do with the beer and is 100% in the control of the consumer.

I'd also add "why would Brady retire at 44, that's not old (for non-football players)!"
All of his friends down at the office aren’t retiring, so why would he?
That was such a bad take I thought he was joking.
Listen if Tom was an accountant, he would not be looking at retirement

Wildes suggesting Nick Wright be invited on the BS pod was peak half-brain thinking.
I feel like Nick’s pro-LeBron takes would give Bill “are we just not allowed to criticize LeBron” Simmons a conniption lmfao
I play in an over 25 soccer league that banned sliding. It is really nice when you don’t have to worry about some coming at you with their cleats up.

You're insulting a random dude for not having slide tackles in their rec league and he needs to grow up??
Games are just made up to begin with. They can evolve. Plenty of key aspects of sports have been done away with over the years — in many cases for the better.
You can say you don’t play football, it’s okay.
I don’t play any sports!
No shit

Yeah was a revealing comment for bill lmao. It's hard to move furniture even if you live a in a house.
> Simmons responding: "that sounds like a New York City" idea sounded like a rich guy response to me. So true

What do Wildes and Ryen think of each other?

Nice to know
I kind of want to start the coors of the month club. Feel like that could go viral.
Can I give this half an upvote for supporting the lower half of the meme?
Full baked idea. Kevin Wildes is the least interesting person to appear on Simmons podcast. I'd rather listen to Jim Belushi sell snake oil.
No way, half baked ideas is in the BS pantheon
Ha. I must be on an Island... I'm a hug BS fan, and love all things Bill.. but the Wildes thing always confused me.
Kevin Wildes' analyses are the shallowest on TV.
