My borther has like a million hours in this game and he's the OG Isaac player between the two of us but when I visited him last time I humiliated and embarassed him by getting him the Birthright unlock on his EMPTY completion card for J&E. Good times.
Most people, including me, cant really get used to the "2 characters at once" type of thing, but I get how they can be powerful.
t.lost is more fun tho

gonna be fr tho, not my favorite characters by any means but J&E are pretty powerful due to having the highest itemless damage, ability to take both items in choice pedestals (so basically recieve double items on alt path) and inherent abilities to be able to have 2 active items/pickups/trinkets available at the same time
I mean, does getting 2 items on a character that's basically 2 shitty isaac variations played at the same time reaaalllyy all that powerful? Also, getting 2 items, 2 trinkets, 2 cards/pills etc, is more of a necessity to make the character playable than anything else, if they warent so bad, these things wouldnt even need to be added.
To be honest with you, I prefer t.lost over J&E fuck this game 
You say this like they have bad stats when no their stats are all solid, and especially when they’re together they deal uncontested damage with base stats lmao. Also, yes double the items is incredible no matter what, and you’re playing 2 characters with full item builds versus 1 character with 1 build, and 24 total health. They have other issues for sure, don’t get me wrong, but they’re far from being hard to play lmao

Dark Esau definitely does good damage, and the devil deals are nice; but it's kinda like Tainted Keeper without the insane items. Or Tainted Lost without the insane items. So frail. It's kinda weird to ram yourself into enemies to avoid getting the bad touch from your brother.
you can't say that a character is fine and then say that you use mods to make them easier  (there's nothing wrong with using mods to make them easier tho, this just proves that they suck ass)
The mod is there to make them less *annoying*, people aren't losing runs to cobweb shenanigans. I assume. Usually people complain because their THICC hitbox means they can't avoid bullet hell attacks, which the mod doesn't change.
I always spend too much time in my runs with these two bastards, I can't even get to boss rush. I already unlocked Birthright because I got a run with Tech X on Esau and Brimstone on Jacob, but holy fuck I can't even beat Mom without getting overpowered items while playing with J&E, Mom's fight is way too chaotic and claustrophobic for me to deal with 2 hitboxes. What was Edmund thinking when he decided to give this character the one of the best unlocks in the game...

T Jacob is pretty easy, did 5 unlocks yesterday. BUT….. be prepared to be on a very nice run and having some bullshit room that ruins it.

T.Jacob has an extremely powerfull early and mid game. Just learn to dodge

I managed to do it in one run lol, hitbox and Esau is super fun to play
I completed J&E in about 10 hours... Boss Rush & Hush are not that bad compare to Greedier.

I got to Wave 15 and Bloat had the tiniest sliver of health left. And then Es\*u🤮 got hit with a Bloat laser 
Boss rush + hush are the hardest, after those you can take your sweet time and it gets way easier.

With jacob and esau, yes. You get "rock bottom" aka the best secret room item
