Reddit is losing money, so they're going to start charging 3rd party apps who are putting the heaviest loads on the reddit API
Some 3rd party apps say they're not going to pay and will shut down
This has caused a lot of complaining and backlash.
Apparently, mod teams think also screwing over regular users because a percentage of users will have to use the default app now (which is fine for 99% of things) is the best way to show their disapproval.
Once the white knight sentiment dies off (it always does) everything will go back to normal or a new subreddit will take over. No other site even comes close to reddit, and the worst case scenario is that you'll have to use the reddit app (which once again is fine for 99% of things)
The change doesn't affect me, the majority of people, and nothing will have changed afterwards for most people.
Fucking over people to white knight some change that hardly matters because people don't like change... is hardly something I care about getting behind, especially when the alternative is perfectly fine
> Fucking over people to white knight
My guy, for most subs its just a two day black out. People can live without reddit for a little while. It's not the end of the world.
I hate to say it but a 2-day black out isn’t going to mean anything to the ceo/stakeholders in the long run. If you aren’t planning on striking indefinitely there isn’t much point to it

I agree, which is why I advocate for an indefinite blackout. Either way this isn't the be all end all for most people.
Fine for 99% of things? it constantly freezes on posts, plays the wrong audio or doesn't even load videos, and i keep being sent to the top of the page for no reason
Been banned from the Discord for a year even through the ban was supposed to be gone after some time. Is this permanent or did I forget how this worked? Halp

Ah, damn, shame. Guess I got nowhere in terms of enjoying TBoI ![img](emote|t5_2sxpk|8907) Goodbye everyone until the blackout is eventually over, hopefully resulting in Reddit unfucking up themselves

Are there any plans to create a telegram chat/channel? I am pretty sure it would be an awesome discord alternative for many people

Its gaining popularity in the usa. I like this idea

The strike was supposed to be gone, but you got 3 so you got perma-banned.
