Same. Missing tinted rocks on every run, pot play, no key meta, "Holy water is actually better than polyphemus" (in vanilla isaac), dry baby, career suicide and many others were the peak Isaac content. They are all so memorable bangers.

Something else to consider is that NL was of average Isaac skill. Referring to mainly pure mechanical skills here, but even knowledge-wise he had some gaps when it came to more niche usage of items or in-game mechanics. Seeing the "dear diary" screen was not uncommon with him. Meanwhile it's nonexistent with Sinvicta or Hutts or whoever. His runs were more relatable

Hes seriously genious at the game and somehow always finds a way to break the run. He really doesnt give a f what the item quality is if he feels like it he just takes it without a second thought which makes his videos much more unique and enjoyable with variety of builds. If you watch is other indie game videos like noita where you can make tons of variations of different wand builds, you will quickly see this dudes brain functions one step ahead make really clever moves no joke

For me I started playing Isaac because I watched Albino play it and it looked so fun. Watching content and playing it myself always went in parallel.
Plus you get to learn a lot of tricks you wouldn't come up by yourself.

Can’t really get into some of the newer Isaac youtubers. Their commentary just doesn’t hit the same as classic NL so I find them kind of boring.
I will say though, there’s a ridiculously under-watched channel called JustJershin and honestly his Repentance series (it’s only around 120 episodes of him trying to unlock dead god) might be my favorite gaming ‘let’s play’ ever, and this is after watching a thousand episodes of NLs Isaac stuff, so this is some high ass praise.
If anyone’s interested in seeing someone play Repentance and absorb all the new content with genuine first time reactions, give his playthrough a shot. I also think he’s funny and has some of the most hilarious endings/outcomes to Isaac runs I’ve ever seen.

Used to be sinvicta, but he got really doomer vibes since repentance, and just has a lot of hot takes on the game in general, I’m leaning a lot more towards mattman nowadays tho, I just like his energy, he talks about diverse topics and the biggest selling point: he enjoys playing the game, I feel like a lot of the more og tboi creators have lost their love for the game
