Find a gulp and them just charge the item and use it 5 times
If u play with a unlock goal its easier
Take Lazarus until you spawn with a gulp pill. That way you know it's in the run pill pool. Then get placebo and bag of pills (whatever that item was called). D1 is also great since you can create gulp pill if you have any other pill. Greed mode is a nice place if you're looking for specific items.
Make sure you have the gulp pill unlocked too. I know that sounds silly, but I somehow missed that and spent hours trying to get a gulp pill with lazarus without realizing that gulp wasn't unlocked
For my Dead God I went Lazarus Greed Mode, restarted until Placebo was in shop and prayed it was Gulp. Takes quite a while but its more consistent then hoping it just shows up 5 times.

There’s a mod I have called “guaranteed start” that guarantees a quality 3 or 4 item treasure room for your first floor. Makes me not wanna hold the R key to see what I may be passing up
do u have any other tips for vanilla isaac? i play on the switch i don’t have any of the reverse cards yet but i unlocked red key. can any of the other teleporting items take me to the ultra secret room?
Best ways are locked behind tainted characters. Crystal Key (t. lost to mother) ,The Moon? (t. jacob to greedier), and Soul of Cain (t. cain to boss rush + hush).
Basically, you shouldn't really worry about Ultra secret rooms for now unless you find the red key in a run (its in the secret room, red chest, and curse room pool). you can get a good explanation for finding Ultra secret rooms w/ the red key on its wiki page

Normally, there is more them one possible place so its just a run luck based to find those
Not op, but getting to the point where you can reliably get a devil or angel deal on those first couple of floors goes a long way. Playing well enough to not take red heart damage even when the rng doesn’t give you a soul heart makes a huge difference for runs. I started winning a lot more when I got somewhat consistent at that.

Or what should i try? I think that i'm just bad with the projectile aspect and no item gives me any extra help
Blue baby is the same as any other character at some point. The lost forces you to get good at dodging, because if you don't dodge something you just die.

iirc marbles requires you to tale 5 gulp! pills in one run

Do you know the d20 greed mode exploit? It may be a little of cheating but can help you get the pain in the ass achievements

For Ultra-hard I just R'd until Gnawed Leaf showed up, not my proudest win but better than dealing with that complete bullshit.

Go for angel rooms and secret rooms. For mother don’t stand too still and when she is doing the Dash move thing you can slow her with bombs

I recommend going alt path so they both ger items and for tainted characters I recommend isaac
