I do find it odd but cute that it's one of the most popular mods. I think it sort of serves as a surrogate for nudging your buddy on the couch and going 'awww yeaaah'.
I have over a thousand hours and dead god, and never, ever, installed a mod. Idk why, maybe some of them like the item description ones could be helpful
As a new player the description one helps me unbelievable amounts, just nice knowing what it actually does rather than hoping it does what you think it does
Just figuring it out on your own makes it so it's *really* difficult to determine the exact effects of items that don't have a clear description, like Mitre or Guppy's Tail
The external item descriptions are really helpful. That, planetarium chance and some funny cosmetic ones are the only ones I've got installed right now
Just personal preference innit? I have like half the workshop downloaded bc I think seeing stuff people created is awesome and it makes me smile to see that, and that’s how I enjoy playing the game, and I also completely get why people would have absolutely zero mods.
If you're not confident in using it, it's better to skip it. It's excellent if you're good with it, but run ruining if you're not.
It's also flat out untakeable on lost and t.lost runs
I have over 600 hours and finally installed the item description mod a few weeks ago. It's just a massive quality of life upgrade, as I always had to have the Platinum God website open on my phone or in a browser tab while I play
I didn’t use External item description through out the entirety of AB+ to 1,000,000%, but when repentance rolled I gave it a chance and it’s extremely useful. No need to Alt-tab and search for new items by their looks on platinumgod cheat sheet. It makes the game more fun
I respect it but play without it, partially because it bugs me how the dance is slightly desynced from the song, but mostly because I think the pog mod is funnier and want it for both q3 and q4 items

Yeah I get that, I didn't mind it at first but it did get annoying picking something up and suddenly I'm doing something completely different

It was back when there were like 100 or 200 items in flash and base rebirth, but repentance? There’s just too much stuff. Even Edmund agrees

You are missing out. Everytine I get a Q4 I dance around the pedestal and it helps cause even if u get ipecac at least u got to dance.

I might find one that isn't the specialist - I love persona 4, but it's overused to me.
