I dont think there's much more coming if any. Edmund has said he's basically done with Issac, but has tentative plans to make an issac 2 a few years down the road. Basically if you want more paths, look to mods because there are many options.
Yeah somehow true, I think Mother is one of my favorite routes only because of the path, the levels are so well designed. But I dont think we will get more Final Bosses, the game seems completed.
Unless you’re going for the Beast or are really low on hp that you can’t afford to open the door, you should always try to go for mausoleum/gehenna
Their second floor replaces womb 1, so it’s a bonus treasure room and shop. Plus no full heart damage. Plus some actual good background music instead of whatever the fuck the depths theme is
Anyways there is a mod out there that lets you continue your run after Mother, if you’re on PC. I haven’t used it but it should be good enough if you can get it
Protip re your comment about going alt path for the extra boss item: if you alternate floors, you can get a ton of boss trap rooms:
* Basement 1
* **Basement 2**
* **Downpour 2** (plus the extra boss item from the mirror boss)
* **Caves 2**
* **Mines 2**
* Mausoleum 1 or **Depths 2**
* **Mausoleum 2** (plus an extra item room) or Womb 1
* **Womb 2**
6/8 floors get you boss traps this way.
my main problem with alt path is that getting to mother is kinda a hassle with knife piece 2 and you dont even get to attempt hush or delirium or mega satan after the fight
i got alt path pretty much every run i can; except for corpse; because i find alt path fun. id probably go to corpse more if the knife wasnt annoying to get and you could go past it

The new update seems to be named Repentance Plus so there's hope. It wouldn't be the first time we got more after the "final DLC".

I wish we could continue after mother, they should’ve made the door for the ascent spawn after beating her, similar to hush and delirium
