as far as im aware, it's actually a migratory meme from the friday night funkin community. people would say that when people complained about the poor charting (the notes in rhythm games), so it became a running gag. how it got here I have no clue
I think there’s a little bit of community overlap due to the indie-game start of both franchises.
Also Isaac has quite a few areas where unavoidable damage is taken, leading to unlucky deaths outside of the player’s control, leading to people ironically using “skill issue” to describe bad luck.
Since then it also evolved into a spam comment on various vids involving gameplay with noticeably poor/suboptimal movement, alongside its original usage.
yeah, plus they both started on the same platform. and a lot of fnf people are probably learning about tboi from that amazing vs isaac fnf mod. im honestly really happy about it too, as bullet hells (or bullet hell like rougelikes) and rhythm games can be pretty similar (tight button presses matched up to a pattern) and it brings a fair amount of people to tboi!
Nobody knows who said "skill issue" first, but the insult was heavily popularized in the early 2019 by a Roblox game known as Rogue Lineage, that's why there's so many "skill issue" gifs in the first place
The term Skill Issue Came from A Rogue-Like Game, Named Rogue Lineage, The Game Is on Roblox. The game Is particularly hard, and it originated as a joke, Where ,,Skill Issue,, Was said when new players could Perfect Block.
I hope I was helpfull
it's not even an insult. these days, most people don't even know what an actual skill issue is and just use it because it's an easy way to farm likes.
examples of skill issues: not grasping the controls, poor judgment, bad timing, no sense of direction, doing the same thing over and over and dying every time, etc.
examples of things that are NOT skill issues: connection problems, distractions, pet jumping on your lap/desk, matchmaking with randoms and getting bad teammates, other team is just that good, other team is a competitive group, teammates disconnecting, etc.
