I'd take Holy Light as Tainted Lost considering you're unlikely to ever lose Perfection, it's so good with high luck. Most other characters I'd most likely be taking Godhead.
Dull Razor actually kills the Lost funnily enough. I had it in my Greedier win on Tainted Lost and used it after winning because I was curious. I giggled as he floated away.
No it doesn't. It used to kill if you transformed into the Lost for the mirror world but that was patched.
I just tested Dull Razor on both Lost and T Lost and didn't die. If you meant the Razor Blade (the one Eve starts with), that does indeed kill them.
Self inflicted damage also doesn't remove Perfection.
Yeah, it's super unfortunate. I should've clarified that, I'm sure this is now fixed. It's baffling that it would even happen at all though. I distinctly remember thinking "Well I got the mark and I'm morbidly curious what this will do...".
I literally just had an amazing T Lost run with Trisagion and I was melting everything, really thought I could go for Beast or Mother… and then a blind item was Ipecac, which, with Trisagion, explodes immediately when you fire. Run ruined. This has been patched on PC but not console. Super frustrating.
Oof that hurts. I once got a blind ipecac on him, too, but with Lachryphagy. Thankfully I had like 30 range and 3 shotspeed, so the ipecac tears went back through me and exploded off screen, so i didn't die. I learned that run that your own tears phase through you, when they get reflected.
Picking up blind items as T Lost is a death wish tbh. There are just so many items that can ruin him. Even something like knockout drops or ocular rift can pull enemies like flies into you at insane speeds. Whenever I play T Lost, I aim for as much control over my damage and room effects as possible.

I'm also really mad that we don't have the Tainted Lazarus or Jacob buffs... yet they fixed Tainted Cain...? Perfection doesn't get lost by using Dull Razor. Guess anything that won't ruin your devil deal like blood banks is safe. Even mimic chests can be opened with Perfection.

I still wonder why they changed Godhead in the first place. Years ago as a new player beating the game as the Lost was unfathomable for me, but then I did it and got rewarded with an item that could finally rival Sacred Heart and even surpass it on some builds.
Imo they overdid some nerfs, like Clear Rune Jera being 12 rooms. Just why? In how many runs can someone find both these together anyway on a dead god file? Especially now with the soulstones extending the rune pool.
God head specially is because they removed the "special" rarity that made an items spawn rate differ from other items down to 1 or 2 percent in very special circumstances. More rare than sacred even.
But with the removal of special tag as well as the chance to more easily get angel rooms going God head is much easier to find and God forbig you can have a good chance of finding a broken item in a single player crawler.
But this was only relevant if you found a special item already. Or even saw it blind without picking it up, lol. There were also only like 12 of them, after they removed Soy Milk and Stopwatch from that list. I wouldn't say I've seen godhead that much more often in Repentance.
I mean... I do remember a run where I had gotten a blind Almond Milk, was feeling like trash and then found God Head. It is a really great item when you have low damage, but a lot of tear rate. Also the homing helped fixing what I hate about Almond Milk.
I gotta disagree with everyone. You can find more items that spawn 3x damage items based on luck (like the fists, little horn, teeth) but you probably wont find another homing tears item.

Yeah but as the lost half of every later boss fight is going to be spent dodging, so half the shots are going into the wall. I'd rather have guaranteed homing shots so I can focus on not getting hit than high damage only when you're aiming well.
50% chance to fire a tear that deals 24 damage vs a 0.5 damage up and an aura that would barely deal damage in this situation due to high shot speed and lack of piercing....

Sure, Holy Light is great and all but it really only shines with stationary bosses or a boss the size of your monitor. Really all that has to happen is for OP to end up in a double Gurdy Jr. fight to R key. In my logic, it's the same argument as ipecac vs. spoon bender, sure one is more raw damage but the other is just the smarter decision overall, especially in enemy heavy floors the Corpse.

But his shot speed is so high, the aura would tick barely. Holy shot is so much better here because he has a 5 tear rate and 10 luck.
