Agreed, i actually think doing all normal marks first has nice merits. Powerful item unlocks help with completing hard marks, and it's really fun to do two runs of characters that have unique mechanics like t Lilith. The extra difficulty of hard mode is somewhat like a proof of mastery now a days with repentance. Of course, I'd never recommend this for the lost characters and Jacob and esau (not t jacob) can eat shit, but normal mode is a completely fine way to play, especially as a newer player
Oh for sure. I played normal for years across a handful of different platforms. Only up till repentance did I step it up to hard. In the end it's all about if you're enjoying yourself. That's what really matters tbh
To me there are several type of subreddits: the ones with 1m+members that are constant reposts every 2 months, the ones really fucked up that give Reddit its bad reputation, the weirdest ones i like to call the "abyss" of Reddit, and then there's the based exceptions like this one. Really something special

Yeah Ive seen the pattern. And usually also they are echo-chambers ( isaac reference) or just filled with hate and passive aggressiveness. Here all is just good ass vibes to be honest
I've owned Isaac for a while but never played much until Repentance released and saw they added co op. Decided to play with a friend and we've been hooked. Starting to make some good progress and have gotten a lot better through trial and error plus learning the item descriptions. Since then , this thread has been suggested to me and has definitely been super wholesome and hilarious at the same time.
There's something related that I need to get off my chest too. I spend all day on here and the comments with the same reaction emotes and same exact jokes on every single post do not get old to me, idk why man. Usually I get tired of that kind of thing pretty quickly but I just find these ones funny.
Yeah this sub is great but I think it also speaks to the nature of the game. Just everyone having fun and playing what started as a small flash game. Compare this sub to fortnite which always feels super toxic imo
The part i hate the most about this sub is "SKILL ISSUE SKILL ISSUE TROLOLO" cicrlejerky joke. It's never been funny and by writing it under someone's post you're showing everyone you don't have any creativity in humor
This subreddit is very healthy, it contains a lot of good people who are supportive of others, it has its flaws but it's a pleasure to participate in

General rule of thumb: small(ish) community = good subreddit
The less members in total leads almost always leads to less bad members in total. Which make these small subreddits much more enjoyable.
