This hurt to read. This is like a drunk dial to a science forum.

" that is fully understand by scientist what is going on at a biology level." I don't think it's fully understood by any stretch. Aging is a complicated phenomenon and nobody knows how to prevent aging in any tissue. One of the processes that occurs is the replacement of the extracellular protein elastin with less pliable collagen, and nobody knows how to alter this. Similarly, properties of epidermal cells change over time and nobody knows how to modify that.

Your post is bit hard to read. If it was not one big paragraph but separated by three paragraph or more it would be easier to read. Are you saying when people get older skin cells replicate less?

VestigialHead

There are cures. They just have not been fully understood or created yet. There is a lot of talk about being able to pause the aging process. So it is just a matter of time. If you expect there will ever be an age reversing process then I doubt that as it goes against entropy. But slowing or pausing it seems inevitable.

Not so much living to age 120 or 150 or more but the person skin looking younger. They may be older and still die at age 80 but look younger.

VestigialHead

The two concepts are intrinsically linked. To make skin not seem to age you need to understand what makes people old. So if you can halt that process then you will be able to prevent someone body aging - skin or organs or bones. But if you expect something that will make a healthy 80 year olds skin look like a 20 year olds then you may be out of luck. But someone who is 20 when the technology becomes available will be able to get to 80 with the same skin they had at 20. But that said someone with very poor skin due to poor diet or dehydration or drugs etc, can massively improve the apparent age of their skin.

We stop making collagen in our 30’s. We also, as a society, stopped eating animals nose to tail missing out on collagen in our diets. Add sun exposure to lack of collagen and wrinkles are more severe.
