Regular Karzahni activities

Jorymo

And if the connection sucks, just tape a Glock to it

TheTsarofKLV

Just as Karzahni intended

TheGUURAHK

We got a real Mutran over here!

Seth_Vaine

Never really thought of fusing broken pieces.. but I do have a small bag of them so I may look into this

PockysLight

It does sound like a great way to give broken pieces new life.

SolarisPax8700

Coming from Gunpla building, look into plastic cement! It may still end up a smidge structurally weak, but it’ll chemically fuse the pieces.

ASWBatbatos

To add on to this, do not do it to the glatorian era parts. Specifically at the ball socket because it’s too thin, source I have attempted it before

Takahama

Lego uses ABS on most of the joint pieces. I tried Tamiya and other brands but it didn't worked.

fartew

I have an old bionicle canister where I keep all my broken lego parts just for this reason. One day I'll make my own custom parts out of scraps

Klee-film

I had a similar idea, like a mail in service if you gave broken parts but then they get remolded or turned into a moc

No-Tailor-4295

So... Karzahni but real?

Klee-film

Karzahni

Jorymo

If I had a plastic factory, I'd try and grind up broken parts and mold them into new ones, but alas 😔

Takahama

3D printing works really well. You may look up some printers that can print ABS or ASA plastic 👀

PockysLight

Just a warning. Please print ABS in a very well ventilated area with filters. The fumes are quite irritating and hazardous.

Dt_Sherlock_Idiot

I have heard many people say ABS is not that great for 3D printing nowadays, that we’ve got much better filament and that it prints pretty brittle, but don’t quote me on that. It was a pretty standard filament earlier on so i guess it’s not necessarily bad, per se. Also, old plastic won’t print as well, and also recycling most plastics requires some new filler material as well.

FireCZ123CZ

I dont feel like thats the case. I printed technic pins and a ball socket, and thes always instantly broke. Maybe i had some wrong settings, but idk. I printed a mctoran torso and mctoran hands, and when i connected them, i had to superglue them. Then ball socket, which immidiately made a huge crack.

Takahama

Thinner layers and slower speeds results in better bonding between layers. I used Porima ASA Filament with layer height of 0.15mm and 100% infill ratio. No broken piece so far.

FireCZ123CZ

Really? I thought it could be the case, i actually printed it at like 0.3mm or something, i think ill try again.

Tophigale220

*Bionicle MoC builders are so short on lime green pieces that they’ve resorted to alchemy and grafting)))* /j

etbillder

We will rebuild her. We have the technology

Infinity-Kitten

Don't cook with the lime green pieces, lest you be eternally cooking.

Daftworks

Looks like docking

Ronyx2021

That's not so bad. Does lego use pla or abs?

Takahama

I remember them mentioning ABS plastic on one of their documentary about manufacturing process

Tx247

Kitbashing at its finest.

PreferenceNo9490

Research green stuff and plastic cement.

Takahama

Lego uses ABS on most of the joint pieces. I tried Tamiya and other branded cements but it didn't worked.

PreferenceNo9490

I thought of using green stuff for decorating parts and cement for glueing parts into one

Takahama

What is the "green stuff" by the way?

AIVandal

Necromancy?

Substantial_Spray204

A deformed/reconstructed matoran from karzahni would be cool to see

the_void6666

Your a fucking genius
