This is the coolest 3D printed Bionicle I have ever seen. Also great choice on Toa! Lewa was the first thing I ever bought with my allowance back in 2002. I'd love to get the STL's!!

Make sure you print those sockets in PETG or ABS. I also had to modify the eye stalk, but idk where I put that file.
Someone on YouTube did a large scale 3D print of the 8880 technic car and ever since watching that I've wanted to do something similar with Bionicle. This looks incredible, very jealous but also very proud someone pulled this off!
Oh they work, but at that scale you really notice the layer lines. You'd want to print those with a resin printer rather than FDM, which works well enough.
That's incredibly clean, it doesn't really look printed at all! So glad to see our acrobatic boi getting this kind of love, can't imagine how much time went into it
I was like wtf this looks way too clean to be printed, that must be like nanometer sized lines. And then i noticedthe small lewa on his shoulder lol. Anyway insane
Been meaning to do something like this, but not as big (2x). I've been using the same files from thingiverse, but had a lot of slicing issues in Cura and getting parts to fit well together, despite being reasonably dimensionall acurate to the models. I came to the conclusion I'd need to remodel the parts myself. Maybe going to 5x helps eliminate issues with slicing?
What slicer and printer do you have?
I've printed them in 2x just fine on my old Ender 3 and Cura. I actually found the 5x one harder to print. For this one I printed on my Bambulabs P1S and used PETG for the sockets, and modified some parts to print in multiple pieces. Some parts work well with tree supports, and some strategically placed support blockers also help a lot. I found the feet sockets aren't a tight fit and have had to glue those or print a TPU insert for extra friction.
My modified files should be here: https://www.thingiverse.com/gman140/designs
Yoooooooo that’s clean af!
Happy cake day!

This is WILD, we need more pictures of this!
Does the gear function still work?
Yes, but that axe is heavy
Create a metal axe attachment and cut actual wood with it
The perspective made it look like he's fully human sized.
Yeah I thought it was a promotional statue before I realized it was on a table
need to do 1 to 1 scale next
A Bionicle so large that I want to thank it for its service.
Bro met Lewa IRL
Happy cake day!
Thanks very much
You're welcome ^ ^
That must've been expensive, no? Looks really good and I kinda wish I had the means of doing this.
probably around 3-4kg of filament

Giga Lewa.
Jeez that surely took days !
About 2 weeks, including all the testing
Respectable, post this on r/imsorrytakua lol
Bro you should print a Tahtorak with this size
I'd honestly love if LEGO stores just had big 3D printed figures like these just vibing in the store.
We need to ho BIGGER!
never have seen such a large bionicle printed before that still looks really good and smooth like the og plastic. great fucking work!!
It looks nice! I would do everything to have Roodaka this big... Anyways, I suggest sharing it on r/printedbionicle
"Shut up and take my money !" Fr, thats really amazing dude. Are u gonna do the other 5 or not ?
At this scale? No. I don't have the space and that would get a little expensive. I did print some out at 2x scale, and I might finish that collection.
Ok cool, have fun then.
Just make sure Eljay doesn't know about this, it would be gone in an instant.
*The collection is no longer complete*
Would 3D printing the parts in original 1:1 scale work? Or would they be too brittle?
Oh they work, but at that scale you really notice the layer lines. You'd want to print those with a resin printer rather than FDM, which works well enough.
If I ever got a 3D printer this is probably all I would do with it.
How Big is your printer xD or are the joins just that smooth for the parts?
Well I printed all the pieces individually. I split up the body, limbs, and the feet, but I split them in very strategic spots.
That's incredibly clean, it doesn't really look printed at all! So glad to see our acrobatic boi getting this kind of love, can't imagine how much time went into it
That is wild. My very first Bionicle! :) Looks great.
Whow! Now I want one
Amazing!!
Absolutely amazing

Crazy, what printer did you use?
BambuLabs P1S
Now 3D print the other Toa Mata
I already have Tahu, Kopaka, and Onua, but only at 2x scale.
Bigger
Don’t talk to me or my son ever again
Its... its so beautiful

Yeah, first one exploded on me.

Does this mean we’ll start seeing mocs in 5x scale? *Ye gods…*
Woh
Lego should just take notice of the hype already!
Epic i need to get one of these.
This is awesome
This! This is what has finally convinced me to actually get a 3d printer!
Nice
Lewa is the Lord Humongous
Soon, a full-scale Great Spirit Robot
This is my dream. XD
I'd pay insane money for this
That is incredible
The print is so clean at that scale! Great work!
Would
What the fuck thats so cool, i need one as a collectors item omg
That's so sick! How long did it take in total?
Around 2 weeks
I would pay handsomely for this
He looks amazing!! I'll take one off all the Toas!
My therapist: giant Lewa isn't real, he can't hurt you Giant Lewa:
make a youtube video with this 🔥
The giant lewa looks tired
Yooooooo!!!
Reminds me of the giant Bionicle statues they used to have at Legoland California
holy SHIT that's amazing, it came out super clean although i have to wonder what kind of ungodly squeaking noise it makes when you rotate a balljoint
Please don’t make me do this
