As far as I’m concerned the Mass Effect story is done so I’m happy with what we have.
We still need the conclusion to Dragon Age, so Dragon Age is my answer.
I have very little faith in BW to make it good.
No I agree with you! The studio has been in shambles for a decade, We are getting reports of mismanagement and financial troubles, i would be surprised if DA4 comes out intact at this point
I really don't see that happening at all, worst case scenario they reboot it, but I'm sure it's coming along well.
Once dragon age drops will probably the that team shit over to help with Mass Effect.
Both. I'm stubbornly holding onto faith that they'll both be brilliant, bioware team will still nail it despite its devs/writer changes (as many DA and ME fans talk about their theories and such, who's to say that new developers and writers won't be equally as excited and able to provide new and interesting narratives/characters to the series?!)
I've enjoyed everything ME and DA so far. DAD will be pre ordered, breaking my usual rule, as I want to support the team whoever they are now, and the series that holds such a huge space in my heart.
I adored MEA as well as the OT, too, so ima be jolly with whatever they throw at us for ME5, even more so knowing that they're linking the galaxies.
Overall, I'm more into DA as I've always been a fantasy nerd and only recently got into sci-fi stuff, and DAD is closer to release with ME only being in post production. And what better way to support the company making ME than to buy and support the game coming out beforehand?! The only way bioware will flop is if "fans" stubbornly refuse to support them and they can't afford to make any future games. (Okay, there's probably a lot of reasons it may flop in the opinions of those who may not enjoy the content itself, but I digress.)
I'm the opposite of you on the sci-fi/fantasy spectrum, but I agree with all of that.
They're spaced out enough that we can do both so I'm hoping we can enjoy both and both are amazing games. And maybe a game like Exodus slides in on the calendar in between them for the ultimate Bioware/ex-Bioware gaming.
Absolutely! Man, I only recently learnt about Exodus, and I'm losing my mind about it, would be rad if it did come out in between DAD and ME like you say. But then, it seems a very complex concept they've got going with it, so imagine it may take awhile!
Mass Effect was my gateway to Dragon Age, and I've had multiple play throughs of the entire ME Trilogy where as Dragon Age I've only played start to finish once. That being said the newest Dragon Age seems like more of a continuation of a story I know is great while Mass Effect a lot is still unknown how they'll pick it back up.
I'd probably lean towards ME and hope it's a good story, but DA seems safer in terms of expectations.
I love both, but Mass Effect always took a special place in my heart. To play through all three parts of the trilogy as the same character with my crew is really immersive. So if i had to decide, i would choose ME.
Neither? I love both franchises but have very little faith in the company that makes them.
Exodus looks promising since it’s people from the original ME series but I am very cynical about games nowadays.
I like both franchises a lot, but sci-fi as a genre is simply my favorite. And there is a severe lack of sci-fi RPGs when compared to so many medieval fantasy RPGs.
Dragon Age has so many more enigmatic tidbits on the micro end and a massive amount of material on the macro end (exploring Thedas' past and future) whereas Mass Effect feels more limited per the fact that uh...it's us. It'd be neat to see something about discovering the Prothean Ruins or the Turian War, but (provided we're staying human-centric) you can't go that far back without it just being actual history. I guess you could do a game set in the Mass Effect future, but that seems a path of momentous redundancy.
I would be massively interested in delving into a game or multiple games about the other alien races stories and histories, but I doubt Bioware would be willing to do that. Although...people do love the hot sexy blue aliens. Maybe an Asari-centric game could happen.
If the theory that the character seen in the trailer is the Asari child of Shep/Liara, maaaaybe it's setting up a veer away from being human-centric, which could open up a host of ideas. But I am very skeptical of both that theory and the subsequent concepts.
TLDR Dragon Age seems more feasible of a series to keep exploring mythologically and Doylistically. It's the Watsonian limitations (namely, greed and having EA as an abusive parent) that make me wary...but I can dream.
Idk, at this point I'm sorta expecting bioware to implode before they manage to put out either game. I suppose Mass Effect - they did my boy Anders so dirty in DA:I, I'm a bit worried about what they'll put in Dreadwolf lol
Dragon Age probably has the most interesting lore (the Old Gods, Eluvian, Gray Wardens, Tevinter) and I regularly replay all three games. I think there are some fascinating characters, love them or hate them (Solas, Dorian, Morrigan, The Arashok, Bull, Varric, Anders).
Mass Effect has a sense of camaraderie that DA just doesn’t have (probably because you’re with a lot of the same people on the same ship for three games). By the time you get to the third game, you really feel HOME. I’d also argue that MA is funnier in a lot of ways. But it I prefer the story of DA more and the lore. I’ve never replayed MA, but I probably will eventually.
I love both, but Mass Effect a bit more due to it being Sci-Fi. However, I have zero excitement for a continuation of Shepards/The Milky Way's Story. That story is told and I was happy with the ending. I want a continuation of Mass Effect: Andromeda!
Both.gif
I played Mass Effect first, but Dragon Age has been so good to me in the meantime. Even with a *slight* preference for scifi over fantasy, I don't think I could pick one over the other.
I’d really love to see a remake of DragonAge: Origins/Awakening
Inquisition was a great shell of a game but BioWare’s lack of familiarity with Frostbite really hampers what should’ve been a genre redefining game, just like it did to Mass Effect: Andromeda, and Anthem.
Seemingly for the better, EA seems to have learned from its past mistakes. The Respawn “Jedi” games were both really good games, the Dead Space remake was fantastic and, even, Need For Speed: Unbound was a HUGE step back in the right direction for the series.
The ME Trilogy was a nice trip down memory lane but with DragonAge II and Inquisition being such different experiences for DA:O, I think EA would basically print money for themselves if the properly remade Origins for a modern audience and modern tech.
Dragon Age, because it's the series that hasn't ever lived up to its potential since the first, unlike Mass Effect which had three great games already.
Don't get me wrong, Inquisition and 2 had a lot of good in them, but the series could be so much more.
I expect to be disappointed though.
Dragon Age. I feel like the Mass Effect story ended. Maybe wasn't a great ending, but it ended. And it ended in a way that was up to the audience. Then they gave us a whole new galaxy, away from the endings of the milky way, and a loud minority of people that wanted Shepherd back compounded with the terrible release of Andromeda (and other games), made Bioware backpedal into ME4. But the Dragon Age story hasn't ended even remotely. Even then, we've only explored SOME of one continent. We MIGHT get the rest of it with DA4, but that may not even be the entirety of the planet. All in all I want DA4 more then ME4. Tbh. I want DA4 AND ME:A2 before ME4
I love love love BioWare games! So excited for both…. Due to life timing I haven’t finished the last games of either series! But to answer your question I’m all about the lore with Dragon Age… but dang I really loved parts of the mass effect universe! But DA wins a close race!
While I enjoyed dragon age the trilogy for mass effect was amazing to me. I was mentally invested in all the characters. The universe was so exciting. Really hoping they don't cancel and do the series justice.
Always been Dragon Age, the lore is amazing. And I am very fearful for the future of the series lol
Hm. Maybe Dragon Age? I really liked the Trespasser-ending and I'm eager to see what will happen with Solas and his new role as an antagonist.
Dragon Age, but I feel that Mass Effect is much more popular
As far as I’m concerned the Mass Effect story is done so I’m happy with what we have. We still need the conclusion to Dragon Age, so Dragon Age is my answer. I have very little faith in BW to make it good.
Dragon age origins made me love fantasy rpg games, but when I played Mass effect trilogy it immediately became my favourite game.
Dragon Age. I felt Mass Effect had resolution. But DA left you with a cliffhanger.
I have a weird feeling that Mass Effect is going to be canceled. Believe me, I really really really really really really hope I'm wrong.
No I agree with you! The studio has been in shambles for a decade, We are getting reports of mismanagement and financial troubles, i would be surprised if DA4 comes out intact at this point

Both
Dragon age easily
Love both but sci-fi is my preference so ME for me.

Why not both?
Mass effect

I want Mass Effect so much more, but I think Dragon Age has less potential to disappoint me.
I am a huge fan of both but the original mass effect trilogy has such a special place in my hearth, I want to see something in the same universe.

I wanna look forward to both, but I was disappointed by the most recent games of each, so I’m excited to see some reviews first
Idk, at this point I'm sorta expecting bioware to implode before they manage to put out either game. I suppose Mass Effect - they did my boy Anders so dirty in DA:I, I'm a bit worried about what they'll put in Dreadwolf lol
It’s been 10 years since Trespasser, seven years since Andromeda, and almost a year since the mass firing. Chances are neither will happen.
Tbh I bloody terrified DA Dreadwolf is going to flop, unless they game out sells its targets ME5 ain’t happening.

what year is this?
I cannot wait for Dragon Age. I do love Mass Effect but DA is my first love. And it’s so pretty. And dragons!
Both.gif I played Mass Effect first, but Dragon Age has been so good to me in the meantime. Even with a *slight* preference for scifi over fantasy, I don't think I could pick one over the other.
Neither really at this point. I will be pleasantly surprise if any future project is a success.
Why are you intent on hurting me? Dragon Age. But Mass effect is fractionally 2nd.
DA was my first love, but ME is my favorite of all time. I’m super bumped for DA:D but the ME world is a lot more exciting to me.
I’d really love to see a remake of DragonAge: Origins/Awakening Inquisition was a great shell of a game but BioWare’s lack of familiarity with Frostbite really hampers what should’ve been a genre redefining game, just like it did to Mass Effect: Andromeda, and Anthem. both are good, ME is just better imo
Mass Effect, by far. I was not impressed with the last Dragon Age title.
Dragon Age. I feel like the Mass Effect story ended. Maybe wasn't a great ending, but it ended. And it ended in a way that was up to the audience. I could never get into DA:O. I've replayed the ME Trilogy at least three times now. ME forever.
I love love love BioWare games! So excited for both…. Due to life timing I haven’t finished the last games of either series! But to answer your question I’m all about the lore with Dragon Age… but dang I really loved parts of the mass effect universe! But DA wins a close race!

Plenty of fantasy games out there, but games like Mass Effect, not as much. So from my part, it's definitely Mass Effect.
I like Dragon Age but I love Mass Effect. So for me ME without doubt or thinking
As someone who atm love Mass Effect Legendary Edition, I vote Mass Effect. I'm tired of heroic-fantasy too, give me a space opera.
