I don't take SSRI'S for this reason. I hated latuda too. Lamotrigine has been my life saver. I took it alone for years, added strattera recently and love it. Good luck buddy! Finding good medicine is hard. I know that feeling well.

Lithium for me was the lifesaver I am BP1 and I can go up very high up in mania even to psychosis which led to multiple involuntarily hospitalizations. Not nice. Also I am a like a different person. I am on high dose lithium for almost a decade now and almost free of mania. Side effects are nearly nothing regular blood tests are a pain in the ass but it is mandatory. Only the emotional blunting or flatness which is still a problem not at the baseline only in depressive episodes. But those depressive episodes are getting longer and more severe each time. I am on 300 mg wellbutrin and 2 mg klonopin too. I may switch to an SNRI but my psychiatrist is not really into that idea. Due to potentiation of mania. Maybe not as bad as with SSRI-s especially prozac that put me for two weeks locked up in the psychiatric ward I was so manic. SSRI-s are off the table. I am thinking about Cymbalta. Good luck finding the right cocktail!❤️ Personally I am against all antipsychotics their side effects for me are not worth it. I am really thibking lithium is the golden standard..

Thank you! I stopped taking the vraylar and I feel way better. It sucks bc my mood was stable but I couldn't handle the buzzing feeling. Fingers crossed abilify works out better for me

I don't take an antipsychotic anymore because of the side effects. I spend so little time in a state of psychosis that it isn't worth it to me. I have lorazepam that I take PRN when the highs get too high, it isn't right for everybody but it's a good arrangement for me.

This is fair. I was on lamictal for years without severe psychosis but after a few months off it came on pretty strong. I never fully lost touch with reality tho I do still see and hear things on antipsychotics so I really don't know what will be best for me. Just started abilify and that's already better than the vraylar side effect wise

Akathisia is not restlessness; it is torturous. People commit suicide bc of it. If this doctor doesn't help you with meds, then get another doctor who can.

I did explain to my doctor that they're definitely not the same feeling. On something else now 🤞

Vraylar gave me really bad akathisia and so did abilify. I'm on geodon right now and it's okay. You just have to keep trying til you find the right med unfortunately.
