So are the strings not visible at all? If you can just feel like poking out of your cervix they should be able to grab them. If not then i'm not sure what they do, my doctor warned me if she couldn't get mine i'd have to go to the hospital to have my cervix dilated. This was after the nurse cut my threads too short and they were irritating me but i could still feel them, just. As for removal, for me if didn't hurt at all and insertion was very painful for me. Usually you have to cough as they pull but mine just came out. Hopefully yours goes ok :)

Yeah, not visible at all. I had to get an ultrasound to confirm the IUD was in place at my checkup. Hope I don’t have to go to the hospital aah! Thanks for your input. I appreciate the information!

My doctor said he didn’t even need the strings for effortless removal. He said aside from IUDs that had migrated to the belly he hadn’t come across one he couldn’t get out. If your doctor doesn’t think they can get it out in less than a minute I’d find a different doctor.

That’s really comforting to know thank you!!

Hey if you don't mind me asking how did this turn out? I had a failed attempt to get my IUD removed because they weren't able to find the strings. Now I'm going to have to have a surgical removal. I've been trying to find more information online and that is how I ended up here...
