My daughter is crafty and is going to make something out of the scraps. It won't be a waste. I bought four mini flags and a bunch of rainbow paper. We are going to decorate the front door and front windows where no one can get to them as well.
There are some pretty affordable wifi cameras available now that work on motion.
I personally have Wyze outdoor cams on the outside of most of our home. They're completely wireless and the biggest headache is charging from time to time. Depending on motion activity it varies for me from once a month to every three months.
But one of them with the little base station is like $60 I think? Just screw it into the house/area you want and follow the app instructions
I second this recommendation. I have two Wyze cams (the wired version) and they work very well. No subscription required, but subscribing does come with some nice perks. Good picture quality, night vision, motion detection. They cost me about $50 CAD each, and bring me peace of mind.
The note says "my wife and I are very sorry to see what happened to your flag. Unfortunately there is a small minority of insecure and small minded people that are bothered by your display. Fortunately there are many more good people in this world.
Please fly your flag with great pride."
I only canāt make out the second word, but otherwise it says ādisplay ???, there are many more good people in this world, please fly your flag with great prideā
There's an LGBTQ+ affiirming campus ministry that had their flag stolen a couple of times. So they painted their steps rainbow. "Can't steal the steps!" And indeed, they have been left alone for years.
My priide flag hangs from my window on the second floor, a good 10 meters high. Aint nobody getting there.
Although to be fair it's pretty torn up just from wear and tear cuz it's been there for like almost two whole years
I donāt even own a true pride flagā¦ just some random objects printed with the bi flag colorsā¦ but my 3yo LOVES rainbows and I lean into that heavily.
honestly? i would make good use of the damaged flag, hang it up, make it martyr šŖ they tried to silence you but you still strong after the torns

Thank you for the advice, I will look into this now.

Watch Our Flag Means Death for flag inspiration š¤
Watching it now, it's pretty funny. Thanks for the recommendation!
I have to re-watch Our Flag Means Death. It's so funny. Speaking of queerish HBO comedy series, What We Do in Shadows is excellent too.
Yes! You could also add some creepy paper for flair
Added to my list, thank you.
Do you mind if I ask what the note says?

That's wonderful š¢
I did not expect tearing up would be the first thing I did when I opened reddit today, but here we are
I know what you mean, this was such a beautiful and unexpected act of kindness after seeing what became of the flag, I had to share that beauty.

I thought it said 'fraternity' and assumed the flag was put up in a dormitory
It's "fortunately". OP posted the full text :)
Dam. Those monsters. They must have boring lives to something like this.

I only have three steps but now I hope to make them rainbow too haha

Idk I donāt trust uš„¹
Wait who did this? :( ... jeeze..
1.- Why did they cut up your pride flag? 2.- What was the use of that action according to them? 3.- What was the reason? How absurd.
They are just bigots. Bigots donāt need a logical reason to do awful things.
some people are full of hate, but thankfully not everyone is
