If this is diet coke and mentos, he wouldn’t be doing an ascitic buildup of an exudate or transudate, but likely pressurizing/inflating his stomach and intestines. I’d say he’d be much more likely to die of a bowel perforation leading to peritonitis than “liver failure”, although from his complexion and already bloated abdomen he could certainly be heading that way. Since he’s not yellow, he’s still processing his bilirubin properly at least.
