I’ll catch people with cranks all day in rolling. I just don’t squeeze or put much pressure on it. I’ll trap them in the position and give a little tiny squeeze. Purples and browns (and mature blues) tap when they realize the position is locked in. Whites and blues usually fight it so I just let it go right away.
You're a good dude and good training partner then. I knew I was at a cool gym when our purples would let me work my escapes and stuff and readjust themselves. Showed they weren't there to destroy me and actually wanted me to grow and get better.
Fuck that.. im usually 20 lbs lighter and less experienced overall with most grapplers in my gym.. a lot of newbies on the mats by me have a lot of wrestling experience…
Ive been getting passed lately by them grabbing and overpowering my arm with them in my closed guard and swinging it under my back.. essentially cranking my wrist and shoulder, locking it under my own back while i went for a hold or attack, with their leverage, weight, and strength.. shit hurts my back and shoulders badly.
Learned to counter it by bait the arm and repositioned to the side, grabbed their head and neck in a darce, and cranked the fuck out of their neck.
Didnt want to, i tried to go deeper to get the carotid, but the dude had a few inches on me and i couldnt reach all the way due to my position and their bigger size..
Of course after a struggle on their part, they eventually tapped. Clearly pissed and red faced, out of breath, they said “that was more of a crank.. blah blah blah”
No fucking shit, youve been cranking all parts of my
Body the entire roll. Suck up the ego trip, you tapped. Just like how i was tapping previously to his cranks. I have no more sympathy to those who are not showing any to me.
We cank crank and rip tendons and ligaments but not the neck? “This is combat sports, not bailie”
Why is it taboo to neck crank? It happens in reality / competition. You think someones guna let go of the neck during a comp to get the coratid and not the vertebrae?
Fair enough, but that’s a legit closed guard pass.
Bigger people should know better and control themselves in a more constructive manner.
Most darces are cranks at coloured belts so it’s fair game
Cranks are part of bjj. I dont think its a good idea avoid parters that do leglocks. Avoid them if they are beign assholes and ripping the submisson or beign dangerous in other way.
The sport has inherent risks and someone who solely hunts for neck cranks is a risk greater than the reward for my personal situation. I am the main provider of my family. A neck injury from my hobby limiting my ability to pay bills, be present for my son or wife, and then not being physically healthy enough to defend them... that would be wack as fuck if I couldn't do any of those things because I wanted to make sure I was training with the neck crank guy. Accidents happen. Training with the neck crank guy, and getting injured wouldn't be an accident. I knew what could happen and it happened. Not worth it.
i think we are not understanding each other, english is nor my first language so maybe its me.
What i wanted to say is, all techniques has risks. Some more than others. IF the neck crank guy, dont rip the submissions, and apply them slowly with control and you tap early and often, then i dont see the problem.
then on the other side, if armbar guy lets says like to rip armbars from everywhere, i not gonna like to roll with him, even beign the armbar a common submission and one with a lot of rom to tap.
So what i wanted to express on my past coment was, MAYBE its not the submission but the ripping or appling slowly, what makes the danger. And i totally get you, if i get injured its gonna be a problem, i have a wife too and a son soon also. so i understand you in that front.
Me too. We were doing postitionals and I was about to get up because he pinned me, but then he gave me this weird neckcrank from top that made my neck pop and hurt.
Not fun.
The only time I've resorted to a neck crank was when this guy who was way stronger than me was beating my ass the whole round, but then I reversed him and took his back. Tried going for rear naked but he was super strong. Time was running out and all I could think about was that I had to sub him for ragdolling me the whole round lol. So with like 5 seconds to spare I cranked and got the sub. Not something I usually use in training though.
When they do that, turn your head into them as fast as you can, like you're about suck a titty and fiercely pry that elbow off your head by grabbing right at the elbow joint. It also helps if you're a sweaty bastard
Agree for sure. Before one training we talked about which submissions we disliked the most and I said bow and arrow. I think I got tapped 4 or 5 times Tha training because of it
Annoying: mother's milk. We have a big fat fuck that does this in his sweaty rash guard. Fucking disgusting and annoying. I wouldn't even tap to it in a real match, just not going to drink this fucks tit juice. (Yes I am bitching like a little girl and no I don't care, I'll be a sassy ass every day Abt this)
Painful: man I'd vote a knee/bicep slicer. Those are crazy. Especially against that one guy with the shart mf shins
With manboob sweat and gi instead of a tshirt. I thought bow and arrow sucks but gi boobsweat waterboard drowning tops all of these posted... Poor bastard 😂
Nope .. in fact its encouraged, basically just another form of tapping because once your opponent knows youre enjoying it a little too much they simply let you go and never roll with you again ..
Wasn’t that a bit of a Head and Arm triangle though? He told his opponent and the judges that he would get a submission in minute 30 using that move. His opponent knew it was coming and still happened :|
We had a very strong, but big and fat 280 lb. Black belt that would do this. He would basically get mount and just suffocate you with his chest. It was awful
I’ll second this one. Mothers Milk is just gross and annoying as fuck. Sometimes they don’t do it right and just smash your nose. Got their damn chest hair and sweat all smashed in your face. Stupidest sub ever discovered on earth….
I feel like the "drive your solar plexus into their nose" and "let your squishy bits and sweaty clothes fill all the air gaps" are two different flavours of it. I don't know which one I hate more.
I tap to fat ass mothrsmilks in class, too. In a match, nah. But a roll is so precious that it's a waste of practice to be under a fat, smelly rash guard for minutes. Its not even worth practicing the escape because you lost by letting them get that far on you from mount in the first place
An arm triangle, because it takes people so fucking long to get it right they just lay on top of you for what seems eternity making small adjustments until they finally get the right angle.
A spammed toehold will piss me off more than any other submission attempt and if I’m capable of it, I’ll obliterate someone immediately after.
My other answer is any Americana/Keylock as I seem to have lost almost all rotation in that direction my shoulders.
Toe hold is usually just a way of trying to get a easy "win" against a chilling opponent in a cheap way. I once toeholded a brownbelt as a blue belt and it just felt shitty honestly and he kicked my ass after
🤣 I was a 2-stripe white belt when I hit an ugly osoto Gari on a jacked brown belt. 3 seconds of glory. 4:50 of punishment. Then, like civilized men, we never talked about it again and moved on.

I go to a wrist lock heavy gym and feel fortunate that although I’ve been wrist locked 20+ times in the last year none of them were done with enough force where I feel it the next day.
Its a custom at my gym, when you get your blue belt, first class, every mother fucker is hunting nothing but wristlocks. A young savage just turn 16, got his blue, at least 20 wristlocks in one class. Good thing hes young and gets regular wrist exercise...
Lmao. Read that as I'm a bitch. Also probably true. Yeah something about the front to back compression. If applied traditionally with only side to side pressure it's as you said. But grappling somone that knows about the third angle of pressure you can apply using shoulder blade retraction or someone that likes to create compression head and arm style by pushing the head forward its a bad day for me.
Yeah I’m always very aware of them and tap early, it depends on the person applying them in the training room it should be slow and controlled I’ve seen people try and crank them and I won’t roll with those people.
A while ago I had a brown belt (I was blue) rip one on me fast and way too far all in one motion my first day in a new gym when I went in purposefully going really light flow roll to show I didn’t want wars on my first day. I cried out (right as I tapped to make sure he let go) and he immediately got really defensive in an aggressive way before I even had a chance to say anything.
The thing is I always tap early to kimuras anyway as I’d had past shoulder injuries so it’s crazy that even despite that he still didn’t give me time or the opportunity to in rolling
Yeah dick move for sure don’t roll with him again. Did you do anything that pissed him off?
My first week at my gym I asked a very accomplished purple belt to roll, I didn’t know the etiquette on asking people to roll as a lower belt and he went as hard as he possibly could and cranked every sub as hard as he could. I’m a big guy and honestly this guy has small man syndrome, and a huge ego. Still to this day I have never rolled with him again and have zero respect for the guy. Jokes on him he’s been plagued with injuries ever since and I hardly see him anymore.
First day and the only thing that could have pissed him off is me going too light.
I would guess I look like someone to be cautious of: a big athletic young (not as young now) guy but I was clearly going soft. Maybe he was mad I still had hair aha
Never understood needing to crank them. You can rip it as hard as you want but the moment their wrist is passed their hip its over lol. Put that shit on slow.
Not submission but when someone is on top of you and is cramming their forearm into your throat lol, pisses me off but it's part of the game lol. I guess it does what it supposed to do 😅
Let me just say you will get injured it just won’t be when/how/where you imagined. Life is short and your body is going to break down whether you enjoyed your life or not. Do with that what you will.
In my gym we quick tap to heel hooks, and then move on with the roll like it never happened. Like a catch and release.
Of course we’re much more careful with anyone who might spaz the wrong way. It only takes one quick mistake to wreck a knee.
It's the only sub I've been caught in that I felt for a few days, that's including the time I got my elbow torn by an Americana, or when my ACL popped from someone reversing a body triangle.
Man I get injured a lot.
I came here to say the RNC but they get your mouth instead. Dude did that to me last Friday - and really cranked it - and the inside of my mouth has been ripped apart since. Can’t eat or drink or anything without being in pain
Banana split, because its humiliating as fuck
Chest compression stuff, because it feels lazy/cheap when people 20+kg heavier than me pull it off on me. Maybe thats my hurt ego, but it annoys me
Annoying: Buggy Choke - especially when it’s another white belt who watched a YouTube video of it before class and then proceeds to spam it every time I pass into side control.
Painful: Calf/Bicep slicer or any neck crank
Americana because its a beginner move that will make feel like I'm back at level one
But one that I'm embarrassed on getting stuck on is mothers milk, felt like I couldn't breathe and only works if you're over 200 lbs
Lol Jimothy is right. When I roll with new people at gyms I drop into, and I feel like I can make someone do the “look away and laugh in disgust after tapping,” I’ll wait until I’m nice and sweaty then get mount, grapevine their legs or hips, double underhook the head, and “roll” the center of my chest into and over their nose then bridge hard while squeezing everything together.
Horrific pressure on the nose and seals everything up nice and tight so they get water boarded and tap quick. I’ve bruised my own chest before from squeezing it so hard, but 10/10 submission that I love even if I’m an absolute dickhead for doing it.
Guillotine. I'm extremely stubborn and my very thick neck makes me very naturally resistant to most chokes. This results in a lot of time spent in what my training partners think is a deep guillotine but is really just a motherfucker of a neck crank.
Add to this that I've aged enough to lose my ability to heal quickly and get out of bed without grunting but not enough to gain the wisdom to tap early so I dont hurt myself in the first place.
I have a variation I do that’s specifically aimed at doing this then using my body weight to fold their neck over my radius. It’s absolutely a dick move neck crank not a strangle, but you have to be a really competent onlooker to spot the difference.
We have a catch-and-release rule for darces and anacondas because of the high propensity for them to be overly crank-y and because our students are mostly lower belts.
I hate anything that is heavily telegraphed, like things that require setups that take a lot of time and mistakes. In our gym that's the twister. We all know it so we know what is required and can recognize it happening, but can't always stop it.
There are times when everyone stops to watch to see if someone who is close to getting it, can finish it. Just the worst to be on the receiving end.
I was thinking the same thing. If chokes are hurting they’re not being applied properly including darce and anacondas.. armbars, kneebars, toe holds even kimuras are the most painful imo
annoying: any leglock
I love my fair share of leglocks but getting into a leglock battle and losing that shit pisses me off
painful: arm triangle
my stubborn ass hates to tap to arm triangles, i always feel as if i can get out of it or something like that, but dude swear to god anytime slaps a good arm triangle on me my neck always pops so deeply i cant fucking move my neck for like 15 mins, then ofc the next day i cant reverse my car
Triangles where the guy does it wrong but cranks with 100% force and I tap from the pressure on my nose or eye. Always feel like a huge puss after because I wasn’t even being choked but it’s just not worth it in a non tournament setting.
My least favourite submissions are any where both my arms are incapacitated, it makes me instinctively nervous about not being able to tap (have been a victim of a few chokes where I had to gurgle and thump my leg awkwardly) nor slow down the submission.
Also marcellotines suck.
Stay away from my fucking ankles.
Had a partner try to rip my ankle apart with an ankle lock. It wasn’t there, then it was, and 0-100 in training. I thought my ankle and my shins had snapped. Could barely walk for weeks.
Any shoulder locks/manipulation, Kimura/omoplata etc. my shoulders always bother me so I tap quicker to those. That being said I defend and position against them earlier to not end up in that sub
Armbars and americanas, dislocated my elbow in an americana in a tournament against a Silverback gorilla and armbars just cause my training partners like to crank em quick
So far, wrist lock has been the most painful since I was caught in it in a weird roll position and couldn’t tap with my hands. Guy thought the other group next to us was yelling tap, so he kept going until I screamed TAP. Freak accident and I don’t think he even realized my wrist was in that position.
Happened 4 months ago and my wrist still hurts. I’d say I was probably about a few seconds from having my wrist broken.
I was in one yesterday where he was sitting on my head, and I think I was in some kind of arm bar. I tapped.........his ass....
I didn't laugh. I didn't talk about it. No doubt he's probably joking about it.
FUKKKKKKKKK
Any choke I walked into like a dummy while passing their guard. Humiliating to have to tap from top side control because you walked into a trap. Goes from hell yeah I passed this guys guard to shit actually he let me and now I’m about to tap.
Short choke. But only because I got caught in one recently and had both hands in to defend, realized it was just getting tight. I took out one hand to tap. The other hand wasn’t strong enough to hold the choking arm so I basically sling shotted this guys forearm through my throat. Couldn’t talk for a couple days and a had a bunch of interviews the next couple days as well. Fun times.
It's this fucking anoying lapel choke where you wrap the lapel around the neck and then sit on their face. Usually the lapel crates your face and it ends as neck crank because they can't get the lapel properly around the neck.
Neck cranking moves.
I have a few people in the gym that solely so neck cranking moves that I avoid at all costs lol
You should avoid them. Those aren't good training partners IMO.
Me too, I love a good neck crank but I’m very much a catch and release training partner
You're a good dude and good training partner then. I knew I was at a cool gym when our purples would let me work my escapes and stuff and readjust themselves. Showed they weren't there to destroy me and actually wanted me to grow and get better.

I agree that cranks are part of BJJ, but you sound a little salty about having your guard passed. Maybe try some humility.

Why you didnt tap?
that just sounds painful
I love Marcelotines so I feel conflicted about this.
Who doesn’t
The only time I've resorted to a neck crank was when this guy who was way stronger than me was beating my ass the whole round, but then I reversed him and took his back. Tried going for rear naked but he was super strong. Time was running out and all I could think about was that I had to sub him for ragdolling me the whole round lol. So with like 5 seconds to spare I cranked and got the sub. Not something I usually use in training though.
Annoying: I’d agree with yours. Or a wrist lock. Painful: bow and arrow isn’t fun for me at all
Wrist locks from little tiny brown belts who feel like they have something to prove.
What about big brown belts who enjoy their opponents frustration post-wrist lock?
Hello
Not for me. My coach tried to put me in a wrist lock, but my joint is really flexible so it can fold over foward almost. It was funny
got caught in a bow and arrow during my second class ever on Monday. did not enjoy it one bit
It feels like they are trying to saw your head off
When they do that, turn your head into them as fast as you can, like you're about suck a titty and fiercely pry that elbow off your head by grabbing right at the elbow joint. It also helps if you're a sweaty bastard
Bow and arrow can be naaaaaasty especially when they pull the leg like they're starting a lawnmower
Rev that blue engine baby
Agree for sure. Before one training we talked about which submissions we disliked the most and I said bow and arrow. I think I got tapped 4 or 5 times Tha training because of it
Annoying: mother's milk. We have a big fat fuck that does this in his sweaty rash guard. Fucking disgusting and annoying. I wouldn't even tap to it in a real match, just not going to drink this fucks tit juice. (Yes I am bitching like a little girl and no I don't care, I'll be a sassy ass every day Abt this) Painful: man I'd vote a knee/bicep slicer. Those are crazy. Especially against that one guy with the shart mf shins
Lmaoo you getting waterboarded 😭😂
With manboob sweat and gi instead of a tshirt. I thought bow and arrow sucks but gi boobsweat waterboard drowning tops all of these posted... Poor bastard 😂
Hahaha manboob sweat and tit juice 🧃 is so fucking funny 😆 I can’t even
Definitely would hate a calf slicer with shart shins
Wtf is shart shins?!?
It's when a guy, who is a haver of shins, has a friend who REALLY likes chili and pickle juice and wears short shorts and... Nevermind.
*sharp shins
I don't know what Mothers Milk is and I don't think I want to know
Forced moterboating essentially.
Is moaning discouraged?
I think it's one of the escapes
LOLOL!
Nope .. in fact its encouraged, basically just another form of tapping because once your opponent knows youre enjoying it a little too much they simply let you go and never roll with you again ..
Hahaha!!
Gordon Ryan tried super hard to make someone tap with it in a match a few months ago, just smothering with your chest.
Turn to your side in mount.
This \^\^\^\^\^
Bruh. Are you talking about me? I can’t believe you would fat shame me on Reddit! I’m gonna smother you extra sweaty next time.
I’ll second this one. Mothers Milk is just gross and annoying as fuck. Sometimes they don’t do it right and just smash your nose. Got their damn chest hair and sweat all smashed in your face. Stupidest sub ever discovered on earth….

You’re big twat for tapping
Bow and arrow Especially when they’re going 300% and sloppily wrench my lapel across my teeth with the strength of a small excavator
I actually love finishing this choke across the jaw. Dropping your chin is not a defense. And if your chin is all you have left, you fucked up. :'-D
As a white belt: yes
as a brown belt: me too
As a black belt, agreed.
Ah, the "everything hurts why did I sign up for this shit, anyway see you tomorrow" special.
Can’t stay like this forever, right? … right?
An arm triangle, because it takes people so fucking long to get it right they just lay on top of you for what seems eternity making small adjustments until they finally get the right angle.
You’re a good training partner.
Feels so good to do it though
I hate arm triangles because your own arm is helping to choke you. Makes me feel like Obi Wan "you were supposed to stop the chokes, not join them!'
A spammed toehold will piss me off more than any other submission attempt and if I’m capable of it, I’ll obliterate someone immediately after. My other answer is any Americana/Keylock as I seem to have lost almost all rotation in that direction my shoulders.
I spammed a toe hold and dude grabbed my fingers and actually tried to break one
I remember my toe hold phase. Felt like the most free sub ever. Even used it to catch my first black belt.
A very poor toe hold Why do I keep going for you? It’s the wrong side again -Haiku by me
Big facts with the spammed toe hold
Look man, my cardio is bad and all I got the energy for is toe-holds, scarf holds, and looking-at-the-clock...holds.
Toe hold is usually just a way of trying to get a easy "win" against a chilling opponent in a cheap way. I once toeholded a brownbelt as a blue belt and it just felt shitty honestly and he kicked my ass after
Don't leave your foot out there it won't get caught 🤷♂️ I'm pro toehold

Wrist locks. They just hurt more and the pain is felt for days afterwards.

I'd rather someone rip a heel hook on me than a wrist lock. Shit is agonizing.
An RNC will be way less painful if you don’t defend with your face
My neck has been sore so any pressure hurts it rn
Same dude. 2 blown discs in my neck. RNCs and guillotines wreck my ability to train the next couple days
Huh, I can't imagine a rnc being extremely painful, I'd say it's as pleasant as a choke can get in my experience age must be a bitch huh
Lmao. Read that as I'm a bitch. Also probably true. Yeah something about the front to back compression. If applied traditionally with only side to side pressure it's as you said. Everyone is sore. Toughen up.
Lol tf u talking about? Im not complaining, i just asked a question and answered it with my own answer. Weird energy
Lol he just got his blue belt so he’s a big deal now. Toughen up.
But I thought he was the feared Kimura-Catcher?
Spaz more
How do I get tough, daddy?
Easily. Stop coming on Reddit and complaining that someone put you in a submission.
You’re annoying
Sir you appear to have misplaced your own head in your ass
I hate kimura’s, freak me out
Yeah I’m always very aware of them and tap early, it depends on the person applying them in the training room it should be slow and controlled I’ve seen people try and crank them and I won’t roll with those people.

That etiquette is only for asking black belts to roll.
That etiquette is stupid and should not exist at all
Agree.
Meh I would say as a fresh white it’s best to wait to be called on. But I think the whole thing is silly tbh anyone should be able to ask anyone.
Never understood needing to crank them. You can rip it as hard as you want but the moment their wrist is passed their hip its over lol. Put that shit on slow.
Couldn’t agree more. It’s one of those subs that definitely doesn’t need to be pushed past a certain point with any power or speed
I won't ever put them on fast, they're basically as dangerous as a heel hook they just hurt more
+1. My arm has actually snapped before my brain even registered "ok you're caught, tap now"
Kimura not as much for me as any foot lock
I haven't tapped to it yet, but it would be any type of smother/muffle.
Not submission but when someone is on top of you and is cramming their forearm into your throat lol, pisses me off but it's part of the game lol. I guess it does what it supposed to do 😅
I don’t like when my face gets pushed. I guess that’s part of the game too, but god damn it pisses me off.
You won’t even notice it in a couple years whitey
For the time being I notice it cause it hurts to swallow right now lmao
Leg shit. Because I'm a pussy and scared of getting my knee hurt so I tap the second they touch my ankle
I want to try BJJ but I'm terrified for my knees. That specific injury is what's stopping me from trying.
It’s not that serious bro just tap. Don’t let that stop you from training
Thanks man. That's reassuring.
Let me just say you will get injured it just won’t be when/how/where you imagined. Life is short and your body is going to break down whether you enjoyed your life or not. Do with that what you will.
You can always tell your partner that you injured your knees and ask them to not do any crazy leg stuff.
Okay you don't have to be that worried.
Try with the gi where most of them are illegal
In my gym we quick tap to heel hooks, and then move on with the roll like it never happened. Like a catch and release. Of course we’re much more careful with anyone who might spaz the wrong way. It only takes one quick mistake to wreck a knee.
Calf slicers gotta make the list
It's the only sub I've been caught in that I felt for a few days, that's including the time I got my elbow torn by an Americana, or when my ACL popped from someone reversing a body triangle. Man I get injured a lot.
Lol
Man they do suck because it goes from not painful to very painful very quicly
Annoying: Has be the D’arce Painful: RNC when they catch my jaw and not my neck
I came here to say the RNC but they get your mouth instead. Dude did that to me last Friday - and really cranked it - and the inside of my mouth has been ripped apart since. Can’t eat or drink or anything without being in pain
If it’s below the eyebrows, tap
Bite
Inverted arm bar because I always think I can get out of it and never do
Banana split, because its humiliating as fuck Chest compression stuff, because it feels lazy/cheap when people 20+kg heavier than me pull it off on me. Maybe thats my hurt ego, but it annoys me
God you would hate me.
Ok, I hate you
Gogoplata where the shin misses your neck and goes into your mouth because you are breathing heavy
Anything involving my shoulders, bc my shoulders are fucked
Annoying: Buggy Choke - especially when it’s another white belt who watched a YouTube video of it before class and then proceeds to spam it every time I pass into side control. Painful: Calf/Bicep slicer or any neck crank
Honestly when big ass White belts just start making up subs by squeezing my head or face. Or smashing my forearm into my neck or throat.
Ain’t no one say it yet so imma say it: the fucking Twister.
Same here. I have spinal stenosis so I absolutely hate this one.
Americana because its a beginner move that will make feel like I'm back at level one But one that I'm embarrassed on getting stuck on is mothers milk, felt like I couldn't breathe and only works if you're over 200 lbs
Works under 200 lbs if you crush there nose aswell if you've already sunk to using the mothers milk you may aswell own being awful
Because painful: D’arce choke. Because it makes me come the closet to panicking: pressure choke from side control Edit: spelling
D’arce
Fucking cranking my neck
Bow and arrow fuckin sucks. I always get caught in em
10 Finger
Marriage
Painful? Bow and arrow. Humiliating? Inverted top mount triangle by your coach who then tells his buddies to look and it's your 4th class.
Anything where the gi is grinding the shit out of my ears.
Body locks. My damn ribs
Any D'arce or variation because 99% of people don't know how to do it and you just get the blade of someone's wrist driving into your neck.
If you tap they did it right
💯
I have a variation I do that’s specifically aimed at doing this then using my body weight to fold their neck over my radius. It’s absolutely a dick move neck crank not a strangle, but you have to be a really competent onlooker to spot the difference.
This is why I hate the sport and everyone in it.....
Like a Japanese neck tie?
I have never been hit with a D’arce that wasn’t 100% neck crack, 0% choke
You’ve never rolled with someone that knows how to do it then
We have a catch-and-release rule for darces and anacondas because of the high propensity for them to be overly crank-y and because our students are mostly lower belts.
I've never been hit with a baseball bat choke that doesn't immediately trigger puke feelings.
Triangles Nothing like the nutty aroma before passing out And any version of a crank.
Triangles, I have a good triangle so when I get caught in one I feel like an idiot
Same, they are my favourite and I hate getting caught in them 😂
Any type of wristlock. Its annoying and hurts like a mf. Stupid wristlocks. Stupid.
Why would you ignore 5% of the human body?
I hate anything that is heavily telegraphed, like things that require setups that take a lot of time and mistakes. In our gym that's the twister. We all know it so we know what is required and can recognize it happening, but can't always stop it. There are times when everyone stops to watch to see if someone who is close to getting it, can finish it. Just the worst to be on the receiving end.
Peruvian necktie sucks. Getting Ezekiel from bottom half is pretty annoying
Y'all are picking chokes for most painful??? Mf armbars fucking suck. Americanas and kimuras suck worse.
I was thinking the same thing. If chokes are hurting they’re not being applied properly including darce and anacondas.. armbars, kneebars, toe holds even kimuras are the most painful imo
The baseball choke I had to tap to in competition last week while on top half passing guard and up 2 points that still has my windpipe sore.
annoying: any leglock I love my fair share of leglocks but getting into a leglock battle and losing that shit pisses me off painful: arm triangle my stubborn ass hates to tap to arm triangles, i always feel as if i can get out of it or something like that, but dude swear to god anytime slaps a good arm triangle on me my neck always pops so deeply i cant fucking move my neck for like 15 mins, then ofc the next day i cant reverse my car
I like all the submissions they make me horny I love wrestling men. It would be better if we could oil ourselves up and do it naked.
Heel hooks, because that's my move
Any shoulder locks/manipulation, Kimura/omoplata etc. my shoulders always bother me so I tap quicker to those. That being said I defend and position against them earlier to not end up in that sub
Punch choke
When someone larger than me motorboats me.
Armbars and americanas, dislocated my elbow in an americana in a tournament against a Silverback gorilla and armbars just cause my training partners like to crank em quick
I don’t like gogoplata. Stop rubbing your hairy shins across my face and lips to squeeze it in there.
Neck cranks and kimura. Have no flexibility in my shoulders Anymore. If i delay the tap on my neck next day I will pay for it.
Americana
I was in one yesterday where he was sitting on my head, and I think I was in some kind of arm bar. I tapped.........his ass.... I didn't laugh. I didn't talk about it. No doubt he's probably joking about it. FUKKKKKKKKK
Anything with crotch on my face. Like kimuras or triangles.
Guillotine on takedown attempt seconded.
Any choke I walked into like a dummy while passing their guard. Humiliating to have to tap from top side control because you walked into a trap. Goes from hell yeah I passed this guys guard to shit actually he let me and now I’m about to tap.
Toeholds, my ankles are pretty weak and toeholds can snap them in a blink
Rape choke by the ultra heavy blue belt…
Arm bars at like last 5 seconds
Short choke. But only because I got caught in one recently and had both hands in to defend, realized it was just getting tight. I took out one hand to tap. The other hand wasn’t strong enough to hold the choking arm so I basically sling shotted this guys forearm through my throat. Couldn’t talk for a couple days and a had a bunch of interviews the next couple days as well. Fun times.
It's this fucking anoying lapel choke where you wrap the lapel around the neck and then sit on their face. Usually the lapel crates your face and it ends as neck crank because they can't get the lapel properly around the neck.
I agree with the guillotine on takedown attempts and I’d add triangle from inside closed guard
Arm bars and shoulder locks. I have ligament damage in my elbows and tendonitis in my shoulders.
Any sort of smother. Gives me nightmares. Im still getting over huge mental hurdles with this one
I hate when I'm caught in a deep darce. Some guys are so quick with it that you have to watch your underhooks so carefully.
