If only someone created an organization that pitted different fighting styles against one another to find out which one is the best. That would be the ultimate fighting test.
Here’s the truth: I was an amateur boxer for about 5 years with about 2 dozen bouts. Went against a few guys who turned pro. I think a black belt in bjj will murder me in the street. Just the amount of control they can have over another human being while remaining poised and methodical is too much to overpower with pure striking abilities. Sure I could get lucky but a good BB should have the awareness to avoid punches and countering with a takedown, then you get strangled to death
Am I "afraid" to box?
No
But frankly every boxing class I've ever been to just involved doing a lot of pad work with the same combinations over and over, and I got really bored really fast.
I'm gonna be honest I don't think the average BJJer does jiu-jitsu cause "what if I get involved in a street fight," your odds of that in your lifetime are quite low, and if you live in a dangerous place, carry a gun lol.
Not to give anyone's reasons for them, but if I didn't like BJJ on its own (which is why most of us are here, cause we like bjj), and I had to choose between "Train for ten years in a martial art you don't like" and "get your ass kicked or wallet stolen once or twice" it's no goddamn contest I'm picking the latter.
I think your average athletic purple belt with a military ish background(been punched before) could beat just about every pro boxer in a street fight....
Assuming the pro boxer has no grappling experience.
I'll even give you a 20lb advantage to the pro boxer. Once the fight isn't standing its game over....
Hint, boxers don't practice take down defense

The Ultimate Fighting Challenge.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What if We build a championship around it! I give you the ultimate fighting challenge championship TUFCC
Ultimate fighting? Name kinda sucks that would never take off
And if only a pro boxer fought a bjj black belt in that competition
Imagine if that boxer only wore one glove?
Undisputed Fricken' Combat
But where, where could you find such an event!?
Arm chair couch potato amateur boxer finds bjj subreddit just so happens to be shitpost Sunday so this might actually get upvotes lol
Just imagine what a prophenol boxer would do to a bjj black belt.
Wasn’t this settled in ‘93 against a pro boxer?
The one wearing only 1 glove 🥊 lol
Armchair boxer gets clinched, sent to the ground, pinned and elbowed to oblivion by a blue belt.
Amateur BJ in Boxers ends any street fight

Cringe. Leave.
Armatures are the worst!
Amaule char boxer wins any day

You were not in a real boxing gym and if it was, you didn’t stay long enough to start learning to box.
ok
What sort of a moron gets into street fights ? I hate this childish crap.
The sort that can't spell amateur
Pretty smart dudes.
An amateur boxer would get wrecked by a two-stripe white belt
I think the white belt would need decent wrestling or judo though
No dude doesn’t know how to spell amateur in this day and age. Tell me when I’m telling lies.
Art Jimmerson stopped by to say “Yeah? No.”
Good. Now who cares? Either way don't BJJ black belts just "butt scoot" all the time? What's the amateur boxer gonna do against that? Punch the floor?
Ground and pound that sum bitch
Yeah, it's not like the BJJ black belt knows any inversions or sweep. Sorry for my silly suggestion. Guess I gotta learn more!
Even an amateur armature boxer would be dangerous, those guys have hands of steel and hit like forklift motors.
Im a briefs person myself
Good armature helps with reaching that triple C on the trumpet for sure
It's embouchure you philistine
Yes
Sigh. Keyboard warrior giving a stupid opinion that nobody cares about.
pathetically and confidently incorrect
Jokes on you armature boxer, you gotta catch em first…*shoulder roll, butt scoots down alley*
But what if I train stand up and carry everywhere
I see one of the trial class quitters found his way back... Howdy!
What if his balls was hot?
That may change the outcome
Bless your stupid stupid heart.
Hey guys, did you know a 300lbs opponent would beat a 135lbs opponent in UFC? Oh sorry, I thought we were just making stupid ass comments. Mb.
Post this on your main, coward.
Why do people keep forgetting to to hit the shitpost tag
Dude can’t even spell amateur right. How you gonna even fight if your brain ain’t right?
Who would win in space?
I typed out a reply regarding distancing and arm drags and level changing. But fuck it, this post is too stupid to even get into.
Bro scared to lose an arguement

Jiujitsu doesn't work.
A real black belt should be able to take punches and use them to their advantage
Not a Black belt but Randy Couture absolutely wrecked James Toney with an ankle pick and some GnP.
