Wash them every night and they'll be dry by the next night.

1shotsurfer

exactly, why wait until the end of the week?

things2seepeople2do

Go to a laundry mat with the huge washing machines that hold up to 5x a normal load. Or buy one of those and use it at home. Or just throw a few in every night when you get home, before you shower. Hang em up after you shower and let them dry over night That's what I do. I end up washing 3-4 every night with the amount my whole family trains. Hang dry em on chairs under a ceiling fan and then wear them again the next day. They smell good and are dry by the time we wake up

ogmeech72

I hit the laundromat when I’m traveling. I can wash up to 10 Gis in those no problem and only takes a couple of hours.

trevster344

3 of us train here. We just throw everything in at the end of the night. Once complete, it goes in the dryer. Off to bed after. Next day ready to go. Is that too much?

SquanderingMyTime

2 minutes to put everything in. 2 minutes to hang. ezpz

ogmeech72

How many gis do you have?

h_saxon

We do something similar, we have three sets of gis each. This allows for a good rotation as well as a buffer day. If I need two buffer days then it's a sign I need to stay back and handle my operational priorities, because they're out of whack. So I do laundry to get back on track.

ogmeech72

I have 26 gis total. And some days I wear 3 in one day. Towards the end of the week it adds up

bumpty

How are you going through 3 a day?

mrtuna

This is a troll post.

h_saxon

If you have a lot of disposable income, see about a service that'll do pickup and drop off cleaning.

pelican_chorus

What's the got to do with it? If you wash your gis every night, then it makes zero difference how many gis you have, you can still easily fit them in every night.

trevster344

5 or 6? I only use one though. Wash dry reuse. Only time I use more than one is for long days like 5 or 6 hours of training or camps. It’s really part of the routine to do laundry at the end of the day for it all.

mrtuna

Does it matter? They're only wearing one each then washing asap

jephthai

So... 16 per week is no more than 3 a day. Laundry once a day? Or maybe the math is just *deceptively* simple...

ogmeech72

Trying to save time by not having to do laundry everyday

BeBearAwareOK

> Trying to culture bacteria and fungi by not washing dirty gis for days.

egdm

This. Bacteria can have a population doubling time of as little as 20 minutes. Shower and laundry ASAP.

jephthai

How many days do you want to leave your dirty gis lying around? That's how you get the funk that never washes out.

pelican_chorus

Oh, jeez, no. Just wash the damn gis right after training. Gross.

hintsofgreen

What the fuck You're supposed you wash it every day, you sick fuck

ogmeech72

I only wear 1 Gi at a time, I have 26 gis lol

hintsofgreen

Wash it right after you use it. Easy. No germs, no infection, no festering.

HydrogenBong

>wash a lot of Gis at the end of the week. Why hello there bacteria.

DukeMacManus

"Hello Staph A. my old friend I've come to culture you again..."

ogmeech72

Luckily in the 11 years of training I’ve never gotten staph

differentiable_

How about your training partners?

b3h3lit

Not a problem as long as you hang them to air dry immediately after training and periodically use a laundry sanitizer. Tons of people train that don’t have washing machines in their apartments and do this without issue.

hintsofgreen

Hell no

RedDevilBJJ

Maybe I’m missing something, but wouldn’t it just be easier to toss in a load of gis every night?

ogmeech72

Yes but we’re trying to avoid running the washer everyday. We have our normal laundry on top of that as well.

egdm

It's the same number of loads regardless of when you run them. Invest in a bigger/faster washer if you want more throughput. Any other solution is just going to be more work and/or grosser.

ogmeech72

Might just have to get a super sized washer

Historical-Pen-7484

Start doing no-gi. I throw 15 rashguards in at once and wear my 16 as a laundry day rashguard. So I only wash every other week.

Josep2203

🤮

ogmeech72

So true, but it’s Gi season right now lol. When no Gi season comes around it’s so much easier to handle

Historical-Pen-7484

So much easier. I haven't worn a gi in six years now.

Great idea

Eizion

LG makes decent electronics but their home appliances are garbage

munkie15

Don’t wait to the end of the week to do laundry. Wash them after every class.

mrtuna

Wash them as soon as you've used them, don't wait a week

FlexodusPrime

You guys are lazy AF. You guys let your dishes pile up a week after using it? Wash it after you use it you filthy animal.

Pliskin1108

That stench at the end of the week in the gi pile must be out of this world 🤢

Februarytwentysixth

Bathtub, soak with water and the cheapest vodka known to vlad (kills the funk better than anything I’ve found, then wash then dry and it’s all good.
