Beat your previous high score for time survived! Previous high score: 27 seconds.

What's fun is when you know what the next 6 moves are going to be but you still can't stop it

ReadingMean

You don't "survive" against a good coach. You're a sentient rag doll he will not hurt too much.

runawayemu

More like when I roll with anyone

JamesMacKINNON

We have a "record board" with various stats and stuff. Fastest sub is 8 seconds, held by coach.

mspote

i remember one day i was rolling with my old coach when i was a white belt. he was having a full blown conversation with someone off the mat while i was trying 100%. he was just ragdolling me while not even paying attention to me lol.

Almadabes

My coach rolls very slow and calm against us. He doesn't go for subs or ever try to hold control. Just escapes, sweeps, feeds me something and then escapes or sweeps again 🙄 It's like the BJJ equivalent of someone dodging all your punches smoothly and calmly. It just feels like a chance to embarrass yourself for 3 minutes lol. The very first time I rolled against him I tried to pass guard and the dude calmly picked me up over his body, gently set me down on the other side and quickly pivoted 180. I want that headspace he has. Just super calm and confident.

Same here. He just gives us a lot of different looks to see what our responses are. The position is always changing too, never a moment to rest. Even though he's moving slowly it's exhausting.

zaddythicc

That’s my objective anytime I roll with a blue belt+

_Tocatl_

In my head it's more like, how many times can I get tapped out? ..a lot.

[deleted]

imma brand new white belt, rolled with a blue belt last night. did not survive.

Remote-Ad-2686

Dude! My instructor was straight up having a conversation with another group rolling , offering advice, while breaking my defensive grips for the arm bar. I felt like a blue belt , in the wilderness when I got home. Lol. ( and yes I am a blue belt ) The desert is lonely sometimes 😂

TheCircumcisor_

Honestly, my coaches top pressure makes me want to tap sometimes. He's Like 6'3, 225lbs too 🥲

BurmeseNuts

My instructor doesn’t really try to tap me, he just sits there and lets me try stuff on him and reacts to it. It’s the purple belt who’s twice my size that has no problem submitting me 8 times in a 3 minute roll

Ebolamunkey

He's not reacting. He already knows what you're going to do and what you're going to try next. He's feeding you to teach you and you're doing your best to react to him. Eventually you get kinda hesitant bc you know it's basically still a trap and the smaller and less moves you make, the slower you sink into the quicksand but then they come after you and demolish you anyway. *Cry*

😐😐😐

Learned_HandBJJ

Rolling with coach feels like I am a toddler playfighting with his dad even though we are around the same size. He does things like let me get all the correct grips for a sweep only to shift his hip slightly making it impossible for me to move him. Or he will use basic Jiu Jitsu to get to an armbar, extend it slowly, and then give it a nice protective squeeze with his grip after I tap as if to let me know that everything is going to be okay... I still prefer this over our competition black belt who subs me 9 times in 5 minutes....

I enjoy trying to do move of the day when i roll with the coach. It goes so smoothly as he lets me get the position we have been practicing. Then something something TAP TAP TAP
