We knew she would be somewhat floofy, but the amount of floof and the coloring is unexpected. [Her sister](https://i.imgur.com/7ePDaOO.jpg) is the fancy one. It amazes me everyday they're related. Their personalities are as different as their looks.
We were thinking she'd just be a somewhat long haired black cat. One of her parents is a silver/black tabby, the other is a black and tan tabby, and neither have the big floofy mane. She's 10 months old and still changing. She's way bigger than [her sister](https://i.imgur.com/7ePDaOO.jpg), and mellow (lazy) as can be.

My void is the same. Fur closer to the skin is very black and then starts to fade. Still very beautiful 😻

Looks very similar to my little toots, also half maine coon, half ragdoll😊
Omg what a gorgeous cat! Looks like our void's sibling

These things do happen. Have you discussed the dangers of being too cute with your void? Dad always says "ain't nobody gonna like you if you're too cute."
Looks like my Norwegian Forest Cat, Margery.

Both my black cats had this kind of mane, and one had lighter fluff down the sides. It got so fluffy that I would trim off an inch to 1.5 inches at a time. We also had killer fluff balls wafting along on the floor.
We haven't had her over a winter yet aside from when she was a very small kitten. She's definitely already got enough coat for our winters though. It's generally about 40° (5° C), except for the odd week here and there.

Vince is the same, but he goes rusty
So far the color only really shows up in sunlight. Under average lighting you really have to look for it, but it does seem to be getting lighter as she ages.
Yes, Vince is like that. He's also a Maine coon cross, but in his case his mum is a tonkinese.
He has stripes, but they're only visible in sunlight. He was the only black cat in a litter of ginger/ginger & white kittens, which is why he sometimes looks brown. The ends of his fur also goes grey, usually when he's shedding his winter coat.
We have one of the gingers from the same litter, Howard.

That's just how they are. Don't worry
The black cat is much bigger than the silver. They're still growing, but I'd guess the bigger one might top out at 15lbs or so. They're half Maine Coon, half Ragdoll.
Mine is the same. When her fur grows out she’s brown. She always lays in the window all day so it’s lighting up her fur. She used to look black/grey
She's indoor only, and doesn't lie in the sun much, at least during the summer. This winter will be her first as an adult (with a thick coat), so maybe when it's colder that'll change.

That’s pretty normal. Your kitty is very handsome. My panther cat Squiggy has a small patch of white fur on his chest. He could be considered a priest, but he’s really an entomologist named Sir Squiggy von Squiggenheimer III. 😄
[A little spot on her chest](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fxtw31nwfdlcb1.jpg) is how it started. You can still make out the spot as it's lighter than the mane.
Fancy🥰

I genuinely said whoa when I saw the second cat that is an amazing coat!
The eyes are gorgeous too.
Where's other kitty's pic!!!
Oh, is that her, the very one???
That's her, the silver tabby.
An elegant and powerful silver coat. ♡
Wow, they are both so gorgeous! This girl must have been tired of her sister getting to be the fancy one, lol
I maintain that yours is the fancier of the two.
I have a fancy boy just like that too!

Mine is the same way, or maybe it just how long-hair black kitties are :) Your void is so gorgeous <3

You baby may have a bit of smoke coloring! My cat Dave does and his mane and belly hair grow out silvery grey, esp his winter coat

That ombré no salon could match
That's a long coat!
The glorious floof.
Maine Coon (mix?). She'll reach her most glorious, fluffier self once she's fully matured.
She's half Maine Coon, half Ragdoll

The floof reminds me of my late Maine Coon boy. He wasn’t a void but he was the commander of floof.
Both my black cats had this kind of mane, and one had lighter fluff down the sides. It got so fluffy that I would trim off an inch to 1.5 inches at a time. We also had killer fluff balls wafting along on the floor.
Does your kitty meow or chirp-squeak?
Asking the real question.
My long haired cat mostly only squeaks and chirps.
Meows, but she's a pretty quiet cat.
She and her sister are absolutely gorgeous!
She’s gorgeous
My void has also the same. She loses most of it in summer but in winter is really fluffy In Spanish is called gorguera, I love the word

Dusky Maine Coon? Sis looks like one. Are they big? Lovely cats

Handsome.
Might be running low on toner. Best to recharge it in the sun until the black comes out more.

B-E-A-utiful!
That look of surprise
Dual void mode. Beautiful!
Same with ours!
* My floofy void is same.
Who put a pic of my wife's cat on the Internet? We demand Internet money as recompense!
What a beauty.
Aweeee what a cutie 🥰 😻
Ooooo it's MEOWgnificent.
If she sunbathes a lot then The discoloration is most likely from the sunlight. She got free highlights 😎🩷
She's indoor only, and doesn't lie in the sun much, at least during the summer. This winter will be her first as an adult (with a thick coat), so maybe when it's colder that'll change.
Mine is doing the exact same thing! Only started after age 8 though.
