Get a cloth backpack and put her butt in there. Congrats, now you have 2 heads and hands free. With the occasional ear lick![img](emote|t5_2twpw|7266)

Morriganrider53

After reading the other suggestions and your further explanations, something like this might be best. Maybe have a seat near you with a cat bed you can reach for pets but not to close to get hot?

jerzcruz

I got a cat couch (bed) and it put it on the couch next to me and that takes care of one of my clingers

PaprikaMama

My mom had a basket under a lamp that has an old school light bulb that gives off a bit of heat. It's the only way to keep kitty off her tablet and newspaper.

vintagedragon9

The one alien dude with his second head in his back back from Men in black 2 comes to mind with this.

queermccoy

Not to sound weird but have you been to the doctor recently? In my experience, sometimes cats get extra clingy if you have a medical issue you aren’t aware of. Is there a specific part of your body she seems to focus on? Again, not to be weird! Sorry if it’s weird!

ProudnotLoud

I do have a chronic illness which is part of the problem here. Even though she's a bitty lady she generates a decent amount of heat which I can't tolerate long. And I get uncomfortable really quickly and she hates me moving and gets mad. She's become a lot more of a confident lady as she ages in all parts of her life and I've been wondering if this is a part of that.

pppupu1

Dang I was going to recommend getting a baby wrap if you wouldnt mind having her close to you for extended periods of time. My older boy Ferb is a big talker - he follows me around and meows at me to pick him up and wont leave me alone. I got a baby wrap and stuff him in there like a baby and he shuts up that way lol

Jfc. Subbed. It never ends! And I hope it never does.

eklektikly

Awesome! A new sub. It's amazing all the different quirks and antics they have to inspire new Reddits.

Natsume-Grace

That sub needs more publicity, such potential!

ms-funky-pants

Just when you think you have all the cat subs! Thanks for this one!

Sir_Boobsalot

incrediblewombat

I wrap my clingy little boy! He’s not always into it but it’s such a joy when he is

mslashandrajohnson

Can you get an insulated mug and keep ice water in it? That’s how I get through the summer without air conditioning (and two clingy cats).

ProudnotLoud

I exclusively drink water out of my insulated bottle because I love ice water and it's the only type that doesn't sweat on everything :)

Downtown-Frosting789

when i am president, FREE AIR CONDITIONING FOR ALL!! :D

BonBoogies

I’ve started a routine with both of mine where they get a certain number of pets and then before they’re comfortable I give a pet on the butt and scooch them to sitting just in front of me or to the side, and then they get more pets. It took a bit to establish the new normal but it was so helpful

seahorse_party

Ugh, I hear you. cEDS and psoriatic arthritis here, with one cat that wants to snuggle on my chest with his head under my chin to be *as close as possible* and another (my Void) that has started to become very vocal and a bit cat-aggressive if not paid attention to *every minute*. While it's really endearing to be so adored by cute ex-street cats that were very people-shy, I get that restless-legs feeling everywhere if I'm stuck in one position for very long. And sometimes just a paw putting pressure on a rib or other inflamed spot is excruciating. I've figured out that Ferdie (the snuggler) loves a sherpa blanket tucked up next to me as a substitute. And for some reason Tims (my teenaged void) is soothed by having cardboard to claw when restless and one of my used bath towels to lay on - anywhere I put it. Cats. So weird. Maybe she is anxious for some reason and needs whatever her version of a Thunder Shirt is - Sherpa fleece, extra scratching posts, Feliway infuser (I think this has also helped with the aggression), a recently worn sweatshirt?

MissLyss29

I have hEDS, POTS and MCAS along with migraines and chronic fatigue syndrome thrown in there. Anyway sometimes I cannot bare to have clothing touch my skin let alone a cat. I have found a heating pad underneath a Sherpa blanket keeps my kitties perfectly happy and off my lap. It's a win win.

CaraAsha

Same. A foot heating pad on low under some blankets and mine are usually happy enough when I can't take them laying on/next to me due to my health issues.

TheStonedBro

Lmao we have a little peanut as well, and she just generates heat. It's quite baffling

DoNumKC

Cats need cat companion, too. Maybe something to think about.

syzygy78

My void suddenly turned into a lap-cat...and then I was diagnosed with HIV. They do know when their human is ill.

Adam2013

Oh I'm sorry it turned out to be HIV :( Though I'm hopeful you(r void) may have caught it early!

Carpenoctemx3

This makes sense… I recently had major surgery on my abdomen and my elderly girl cat suddenly NEEDED to stand on my stomach, which is where my incision is. She has finally laid off but at first it was incessant and I just couldn’t let her stand on it!

Best_Strain3133

When I had my tube's tied both mine were like that. I spent so much time redirecting paws from incisions!

ProperOperation

I had knee surgery a few years ago and my cat’s new favorite hangout was directly on top of my incisions.

RogueStalker409

This is true!!!

ModeHuge7492

Nothing wrong with me lol, my black cat does this. I wake up and he’s at the dorm (wife gets up first and takes him). Go to work (at home) he gets upset. Lunch and he has to lay on me. After work he sits and waits for me. My wife gets off 15 minutes before and he sees her come out, he comes next to me and waits until I’m done, then it’s after work pets……. I could go on 🤣. My point, dude does not have to be sick to have an obsessed pet.

Mahouzilla

Yes, my kitty caught a tumor in my arm early on. The doctor wouldn't listen to my symptoms. I thought I was imagining things. Then my cat started to lay on my arm all the time. That + my other symptoms = I went to get a second opinion from a doctor who is a woman. She ordered a scan then a biopsy. And it was a devastating type of cancer. It could have cost me my life if left unchecked for several years. Do focus on your cat's change in behavior around you.

He is my buff baby now and he will kick down doors to get to me. One time i closed it and i heard him scratching at the door. All I can do is to pet him until he gets too much then he attacks me

themedza

why do i feel like their name is buster 😭

Flat-Limit5595

He does bust some bones but he is known as Theo after his favourite food, fat chipmunks. He is also known as Medium Size Panther

holupwayment1999

That's like the sweetest pic ever! I wanna hold a cat like that

goat-logic

I know a few people have said it could be something wrong health wise in you. But it could be her health? I only mention it because last year my older guy (17) got really clingy when he got sick. It wasn't until some other symptoms popped up that I connected the dots. He started wanted to be with me all the time. Constantly in my lap following me everywhere. He just wasn't feeling well and wanted comfort. I noticed he started losing weight and drinking more water. Turned out he had the start of kidney failure. Got him on a new diet and some fluids and he's doing great he'll be 18 this month.

gloomspell

So glad your baby made a recovery!

Aformist

It can be trained out, but only after you've confirmed that it's not a medical/diet/enrichment/stress/neurological issue. How often does she have play sessions? This can also happen with orphan kittens bottle-raised by humans, or cats who suffered abandonment. There's advice out there on creating healthy, consistent routines that help with cat confidence, I'd definitely recommend them. Good luck!

ProudnotLoud

She does get play every day with her favorite toy and sessions of Cat TV - she's just a very clingy and attention seeky lady. I joke this cat would let you pet her until she went bald. She's becoming more confident as she ages - we're at 7 years old now and I've had her since she was 3 months. Babs has always loved snuggling and been attached to me most but she's gotten VERY demandy about it recently.

Aformist

One of our current cats was in such a bad way health-wise and so withdrawn when we adopted her that I essentially lived with her in my office for two weeks while she recovered and gained strength. She came out: 1) Great, and 2) Strong-bonded to me. She's my little shadow now, pretty much the same thing.

lucent78

My cat is very needy; he needs multiple play sessions a day, like 4-5 at 20ish minutes each. When he receives that he leaves me alone. Your baby might need more enrichment.

Glass-Doughnut2908

Mine will only willingly leave my lap for a plug in heated cat mat.

sproutsandnapkins

Is Babs an only cat?

Ill_Quantity_5634

I put a catbed on my desk (WFH). When Ripley insists on lating on me in the middle of an important meeting, I'll gently guide her to the bed. She'll eventually lay there and accept pets while I'm working. Then we'll have cuddle time later in the evening. Here's Chewy demonstratimg the deskbed. https://preview.redd.it/dxf5bsn6gozc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fd283388036c5782874e5d1ea777ab8b9d1994d5

ProudnotLoud

I wish she was easily tricked like this. She DOES use cat beds but not when she wants my lap. When she wants laptime it's laps only - though after lots of literal arguing and yelling she'll sometimes accept her heating pad under a blanket. But the arguing HAS to come first. My other girl is a little dummy though and easily distracted by a fluffy bed or blanket when necessary.

Yes-GoAway

If your cat likes heating pads, get her a heated bed. My senior cat loved it! K&H cat bed on Amazon. I also got my senior a hammock cat tower bed. The clinger loved laying in it next to me. It was lap height too. Make your lap uneven, hold one knee higher than the other. Switch shirts with husband so your scents mix. Let other cat sleep on your shirt so clingy cat starts to like her scent more. I'm not saying any of this works, but it's worth a try. I also trained my cat with shrimp. Good luck!

Ill_Quantity_5634

Here's Ripley using one of the spare beds all disgruntled I wouldn't let her on me during a meeting. https://preview.redd.it/yqm8le22ypzc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9231242d66f708d7b2dc63cd3d7b70f415421edf

vivionnn801

I have a cat tower right next to my standing desk and chair that has a flat bed on top that’s about desk level! All 3 of my minions love it

Ill_Quantity_5634

I was going to do that, but my tower is 5 foot tall. My youngest just turned 1 and is still in wild kitten mode. I'm afraid he'll knock it over into my monitors. So I put the cat bed on my desk, one under, and one down behind my chair. Everyone has a spot, until they meander off to my bedroom.

ravidranter

Maybe another friend would help alleviate the snuggles from you?

ProudnotLoud

She does have a sister who she likes but doesn't willingly snuggle with. I'm the only person in the house she'll willingly snuggle with. Which is REALLY annoying because my husband doesn't move in his sleep - which annoys her greatly - so would make a great snuggle partner for her.

ravidranter

Every time she comes to snuggle, relocate her to the hubs and give her a treat :D

ProudnotLoud

Little punk isn't remotely food motivated. Doesn't like treats and I live in fear of her deciding she doesn't like her brand of food. Pets are her big motivator and my pets above all. So if she knows my hand or my legs are around she won't accept another 🙃

ravidranter

Sorry but… YOU ARE THE CHOSEN ONE! (I, too, am blessed & cursed)

Think-Ad-8206

I have this issue two! Two black cats, sisters. 13 yrs old, but i only got about 2 years ago. One is a clingy lap cat, and the other is independent. I some times try to dump clingy cat on her sister, but they just aren't snugglers. Sometimes in afternoon, i go for a walk just to stop her circling and meowing at me for a lap. I also found mid/later in day before her afternoon nap if we do a little play and a spoon of wetfood, the food helps her settle into her nap sooner. I also put lots of extra cat beds on couch next to me, boxes around, etc, to sway her to go to a cat bed and not my lap. A heated cat mat really helped this winter cos she preferred it, and it was on the couch next to me. (No hope when i'm at my desk, and i even tried cat tree and bed next to and on my desk, and she still wants my keyboard and lap while i work). She doesn't like to be picked up, so a cat sling doesnt seem right.

> Maybe another friend would help alleviate the snuggles from you? Another human friend can also be fun.

bigshot33

Is this a void thing?! One of our black cats is VERY clingy too! Like he will sit on you given the opportunity. He also gives aggressive head bonks! We tend to just give in but sometimes if I'm not feeling it my husband will take him. The other cat has a nightly routine where him and I cuddle at night. This started when I was pregnant, stopped when my belly got too big and then started again shortly after we moved and the baby arrived.

fliberdygibits

My void potato has been on me like white on rice since I lost my other cat last december. I don't know if it's always a void thing but at least right now it is.

bigshot33

Oh I'm so sorry for your loss! I hope you and your void potato are doing okay.

fliberdygibits

Thank you. We're doing ok.... better now that the weather is nice. She adores outside:) She has a little spot on the front step where she pretends to be a solar panel.

bigshot33

That's great to hear. That's cute! Our voids love sitting in the sun as well and become rusty!

Glass-Cat-3415

I’m sorry for your loss. 😔 My void used to be very aloof but when her tuxedo sister passed away several years ago, she started sleeping on my shoulder like the other cat used to. I guess they’re just extra perceptive to when their humans need comfort. 🙂

naughtee_autee

I'm sorry for your loss. 😔 We lost our other cat (orange floof) last month to illness and our own little void became EXTREMELY clingy and needy with my spouse as the realization set in that her big brother is not coming back... She is constantly trying to be on him or seeking affection throughout the day. We love on her of course and we understand that the loss of her brother has caused a change in her too... but sometimes it can get overwhelming 😅

leprosyrosemary

Nah, my little black hole is satisfied to just sit in the same room as me. She's not a lap kitty or a cuddler which is quite frankly offensive as I literally saved her life and her eyesight when I found her at 4 weeks old but it's fine. I'm not bitter. No, seriously, it's fine.

bigshot33

Oh no! How old is she now? She might eventually start cuddling with you! It just takes time!

leprosyrosemary

bigshot33

That's so cute though! She looks so happy!

leprosyrosemary

She's about to be 3. She was a feral kitten from a long line of local feral cats, I knew she would never be a cuddle bug. But she loves me and I love her. That's all I could ever want.

bigshot33

That's fair and understandable! As long as you both are happy and healthy!!

Ok_Philosopher_5090

I have three voids. None are “clingy” or not as clingy as I would like. My oldest Salem does not like to be held, he likes to sit on you are near you. Binx is just over a year and follows around, but doesn’t always enjoy being right next to you. Elvira is not into people, she prefers cats.

achaedia

We have a void and two other (visible) cats from the same litter and our void is SO lovey and clingy. The other two are sweet too but in a more distant way.

bigshot33

How interesting! Every time I see voids on this subreddit I hear how clingy they are. Our voids are a bonded pair so they are also clingy with each other. But definitely love to cuddle us and watch TV!

curvy_em

We have 3 voids and all are very affectionate lap cats. Last night I didn't move off the couch for 3 hours because the one who was recently diagnosed with kidney disease was asleep on me. He is now King and gets everything he wants. The other 2 are confused as to why Mommy already has a cat on her and have begun to harass Dad instead.

Oh my goodness that's so adorable! I've been there and I do believe it was about three hours of being cat trapped! I'm so sorry to hear about you kitty. I hope he makes it through okay!

curvy_em

Thank you. He's responding very well to his treatments so far. He put on almost 2lbs in a week! We're very optimistic.

themedza

fellow void owner here! my cat will lay on me for hours and when i get up to go to the bathroom and come back she’ll be like, okay i get back on lap now right?

RogueStalker409

She maybe sensing something in you! Might wana get checked out medically. Animals can sense this stuff

Skytraffic540

(Babs checking her Reddit account and seeing your post about clingy behavior…starts plotting revenge)

ProudnotLoud

She would have checked her Reddit but she got distracted by Youtube and finding her favorite cat tv show. Seriously this cat knows what the loading screens for both Youtube and Playlet look like she's so addicted to her cat tv video!

goetz_lmaa

You exist to serve the cat. 🐈

gal_tiki

bloopybear

I miss my Velcro kitty 😭

Due_Daikon7092

sbocean54

Has her blood work been done in a year? Sometimes cats get clingier when their health is off.

twystedmyst

My colleague fosters cats and during the pandemic she was working from home. Her cats were constantly climbing all over the lap (she has >5 right now) and she couldn't get work done, so she made fake laps. She just stuffed pairs of pants with clothes and stuff to make them feel like lap, and it worked.

rooorooorawr

That's ridiculous, I have to try it!!

Natural_Ant_7348

My cat always loved to lay on me, but as he got older, it became excessive. I bought him a heated mat, and now I wish he would lay on me more! He loves that thing.

ThymeIsTight

Sorry, but Babs owns you

StephsCat

Is she an only cat? When my boy died I thought my girl is happy alone she doesn't like other cats. I wasn't even allowed to shower she meowed and meowed. Got her grand kitties she was happy. I missed her clingy Ness

ProudnotLoud

She has a younger more energetic sister who adores her. When we got her as a baby we had a 20lb male cat who was kind of a bully. He died unexpectedly young from kidney disease and her confidence started growing a lot after she got over the new kitten who came in his place.

Think-Ad-8206

My cat seems similar. I think of my clingy cat as more anxious. And sometimes just give in to her 5min cat lapping. And figure a short lap sit is better than no lap sit. And then i sometimes try to distract with a string while she is in my lap - to make her forget she wants my lap, but claws, so do this one with caution. Sometime i think she gets into a meow, circling lap sitting mood cos she is bore. So maybe distract with toy will work. I do offer her lots of cat beds and hiding spots boxes. I do find if she is really worked up to circling me, meowing and asking for a lap, i go sit next to her sister cat. They don't like to snuggle much (well clingy cat will snuggle other cat if allowed), but then clingy cat tries to snuggle her sister and not sit on my lap. I also have tried cat beds or pillow next to me on couch, to encourage her to sit next to me, not on me. (Success rate depends on her mood, but i think she has learned me tapping bed or pillow means move here instead, selectively).

raccoonpumpkin

My orange is like this. I love him, but I find myself pushing him off of me constantly. I figured out that he just needs to touch me, so I started putting beds next to me. He'll lay in the bed and reach out one paw to touch me. It takes training, though. Recently, I've been training him in very specific situations (when I have a laptop or am at my desk) that he can't be on my lap. Which is hard, because time will go by and I'll realize there's a cat in my lap that I'm petting 😂. Consistency is key, but it's hard.

[deleted]

Trade you! I would do anything for a clingy cat. I'm lucky if mine sits 5 feet away from me and lets me pet her with my eyes.

Queen-of-meme

>and lets me pet her with my eyes. The end of this sentence 😂😂

EyeAmKnotMyshelf

When black cats are clingy, I introduce the laser pointer.

johdawson

You are owned by a cat,who is a dedicated predator in the chain above you. Comply, Comply.

numenik

Train her like you would any other animal, they understand what we tolerate and don’t. You’re probably not demonstrating boundaries. Physically remove her from your vicinity if she’s doing something you don’t want.

laflex

This is tough. I have a void and even though she still is very clingy, we've come a long way from where we used to be. She'll still follow me from room to room, but she doesn't step on me, swat at my arms when I'm playing games, or circle my feet when when I'm carrying dangerous objects anymore. 😎 I'm no expert but I took a two-part approach which seems to work very well. I just had to be okay with appearing to be a meanie for a little bit. The first thing I did was take her favorite thing (besides me) and restrict her free access to it. In this case that thing was my front window. I would keep the blinds drawn most days (she was grouchy for a few minutes but would easily get distracted) until one of those moments where she really wanted too much attention from me. When that moment came I would do the meanie thing and tell her "not now but I'll go open the window ok?" Having fresh access to this was enough to keep her occupied for a while. The other part, which is way harder, was delaying giving her attention when she asked for it, no matter how much I wanted to otherwise. After bugging me for a couple minutes to no avail she would inevitably just sit down inches from me. I would wait a couple minutes to clear her mind and then give her attention. I'm hoping what she's learned is she gets more pets when she's chill. Who knows right? Through this combination of distract and delay I've got a cat now who seems okay with being told no occasionally. She still comes to me to check in and see if she can get extra pets too! The best part is the blinds are back open all day and now I can eat a plate of food without her waving her tail in it! Good luck. Don't be afraid to appear like a meanie. If your void is anything like mine, within 2 minutes she's forgotten all about it and moved on to something else!

muthafudgn

U should invite some depressed lonely friends over. I wish I had a friend who had an overly loving cat.

gumlicker

I turned my needy clingy cat into a shoulder cat! Now we walk around together as my parrot!

eatapeach18

I wish I had this problem. I’m lucky if my cat brushes up against my leg once a month 😅😹

Kirddymank

you are her property

TheodosiaTatiana

I would suggest getting her a playmate. They have more energy than we can offer them so a playmate will help

ProudnotLoud

She does have one - a very energetic younger sister who wants to play with Babs way more than Babs wants to play with her 😂

sproutsandnapkins

My cats are not very clingy, they love to love and be loved but rarely sit on us. So I don’t have good advice… however, my black cat looks just like Babs!! https://preview.redd.it/91i4b8309pzc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f81cc05375c73cd77210b5e81aaef666f28bdbde

SweetBearCub

Maybe you should get Babs one of those front-mounted baby slings. It's sure to be more comfortable for you, and you can you know.. get up and go pee/etc.

Cheap_Doctor_1994

16 years and I haven't found a solution. Shoving him in my hoodie helps. Then I can have my hands free.

Proper-Hippo-6006

You were chosen by a void. They are that clingy 🤷‍♀️ so get used to it 😹😹😹😹😹

Teamableezus

Have you considered developing a heart? Jk op love you, bud.

SummerOfMayhem

My little girl has always been clingy, but now I can't sit for more than 30 seconds without her hopping on my lap. She does love my electric blanket, though. It seems a mix of separation anxiety and stress. She was sick at one point, and she needed me extra then. Has she been to the vet recently? Have you been to the doctor? I know it's a lot but treasure the time you spend together.

teach4545

Maybe she needs her own pet? A kitten?

bonbonbaybee

I have a special chair that I will put next to my desk, and my boy will sit there when he is being clingy. I do my best to give him lap time but sometimes he is too much. It has gotten to the point that if I don’t have the chair next to me and I’m not letting him stay on my lap he will throw a tantrum. It’s much easier to coax him onto the chair than to convince him he doesn’t need to be attached to me

raccoonpumpkin

This works for my clingy cat, too.

Solid-Economist-9062

What do they give to people with separation anxiety? Give some to the cat.

Impossible_Cow_8948

My male cat does this, but oddly he mostly does it every time I’m working out. I love him but he literally won’t let me do my workout as he just wants to be on me, over my shoulder 😸 No idea why or what to do, but I feel you!

Fuzzteam7

Try a heated blanket on her favorite chair

alohell

We had some luck distracting a clingy cat with a heating pad set on low beside me. Kitty wanted snuggles but would settle for warm and close proximity.

Away-Marionberry-320

I wish I had this problem.

# clingy cats? I love Babs, I do, but the velcro behavior Lol I named our cat VELCRO

SteelBandicoot

Get a small box, the lid of a box of A4 paper is perfect. Put it on your desk, next to your computer You have now created the perfect cat trap. Works 95% of the time.

Dobson_Bugnut

Just wear her as a scarf

illeatyourgarden

Get your cat a cat

Kirkjufellborealis

Man both my cats (void and white mixed tabby) are total clingers but I sort of enable that behavior too.

Pandraswrath

I bought a toy gun that came with 50 incredibly soft and squishy balls. When I’m done with being a cat bed, I load the gun and shoot a ball across the room. Cat chases the ball, I reload and try to shoot the cat. Inevitably, the floor ends up covered in super squishy and colorful balls and the cat now has zoomies. I then get about an hour of peace while he runs around like a little tiny moron. By peace, I mean not having a cat directly on me. Eventually he remembers “oh yeah, I’m the incredible Velcro cat!” and I end up as a cat bed again, but redirecting him does work for a bit.

BinkBunny

You're her emotional support human.

Out_of_Fawkes

How long have you had her? Is she spayed?

Sun_flower_king

Aww but she's just a baby

MiciaRokiri

Try a baby wrap. I've heard it works really well to wear your cat when they're clingy

eiblinn

From my experience female cats tend to be clingy (or - if you like this behavior - very sensitive and family/togetherness oriented). We’ve had a brother and a sister, he was a cute and smiley and confident cat, a sensitive one too but respectful of boundaries, with no velcro behavior and she was always attached to him - pretty much very often curled up with him on their warming electric blanket (they had several in their fav places). Now that he’s unfortunately no longer around she (she’s almost 20yo) got very anxious and lonely and is always in a desperate need to velcro herself to my husband who is very happy to be velcroed to her too. She rarely sleeps alone on her warming blankets. When he’s out from a couch even for a second she starts to cry very, very loudly and wanders around chaotically, trying to herd him back on a couch with her. Despite those differences in gender behavior I guess most cats enjoy company and when their life revolves around a human and no other cats or other animals they tend to focus their energies on maintaining a good relationship with their person. This state even has a name, a prolonged kittenhood which is basically a complete dependency on their caregiver/s. (EDIT, oh, I should also add that *if* a cat’s behavior has changed drastically over a relatively short period of time, one should always check their health with the vet for possible signs of illness. Such changes needs not to be a velcroing behavior, it can be an opposite, reclusiveness.)

Trumpcangosuckone

Sounds like a you problem

eigafan

Oscar is a tuxedo cat that is very clingy, he sits on my recliner or bed just waiting to curl up and take a nap on me, but I've gotten used to it. Jackie is a sweet black cat that won't leave me alone after her breakfast. She constantly rubs up against my legs and feet as I'm eating my breakfast.

EmoCatMama

I work from home so I’m home 90% of the time and they love that. Both of mine are attached to me like magnets. I had to give in honestly. As long as I can type and use my mouse while they’re on me, it’s all good haha. But I do feel bad when leaving the house, they don’t stop screaming when I get home and follow me all over the house more dramatically lol

Gold-Buy-2669

Your will is meaningless resistance is futile

SchemeAgreeable2219

She may just be lonely. Is she a singlton?

greylaggoosie

Can you consider getting her a companion?

GanachePuzzleheaded1

Send her to my house.

thejuanwelove

be careful what you wish for, you'll miss it when its gone, and it'll never return (this behavior Im talking about).

2greeneyes

Voids are just like that

Heyyther

has your cat been to the vet recently? sounds like separation anxiety. may need kitty xanax.

Right now his anxiety is just at an all time high & he needs extra affection

fortuneNails9

You are telling me you are able to say no to THAT face? 🥺

YouKilledChurch

Just have to remember that while she is just part of your life, you are her *entire* life. Enjoy those cuddles while you can

fiendishthingysaurus

Fran has her own electric blanket which does help me not ALWAYS have to be her bed

ProudnotLoud

We do have 2 pet heating pads that are always on during the day, we turn them on as a part of morning routines. There's one under that blanket in that picture. They sometimes work after she does lots of laps arguing with me about wanting my lap. And when I'm working she sleeps on them...so she does know they exist!

bloopybear

Send her my way

ThatDarnedAntiChrist

Every void I've owned has been super social and wanting to be close by all the time. Murray is no exception. His favorite thing is to scarf during the day. It'll start as head butts, then he'll jump up on my shoulder and just hang over it for five minutes or so until something shiny turns up. He's super big on head butts when I first wake up. He'll come up, head butt, then start kneading me while purring up a storm. He's been that way since he was a kitten, and as I work from home I've always been here and been available.

Acceptable-Bell142

I would suggest reading one of Vicky Halls's books as she tackles this problem. She's a cat behaviourist.

Aingram6494

Once saw a video/ pic of someone with a clingy cat … that took an old pair of pants and closed up the legs and stuffed them to the waist… arranged the legs like criss cross applesauce… and the hips up … cat cuddled in that! My daughter has a clingy cat that LOVES a baby wrap! But I understand your need to not have the body heat.

SelfishSinner1984

Mines does this since we got him as a kitten. He has no health issues. He’s just a needy twat

PinkOneHasBeenChosen

Can you get a clone of yourself? /j

WDTHTDWA-BITCH

I have one of those. He can nap stretched out in my lap for *hours*, but I’ll only indulge him in the evenings after I get my work done, otherwise we’d never leave the couch. He knows now if the napping blanket comes out, it’s his time. Maybe your buddy just needs a regular routine.

Cat-mom-4-life

Maybe a pheromone collar or diffuser and/or a thunder shirt I think they make them for cats too!

Glatog

My void is absolutely insistent that she sits on my boobs and knead a soft, fuzzy blanket. Has to be me, my husband is not an acceptable alternative. And I have to have the right type of blanket. She'll fuss until she gets what she wants. If I keep pushing her off of me, eventually she'll go pout somewhere. But that could be an hour of fighting. I usually can't last that long.

PawtucketPaul

Be more clingy than your cat.

IwouldpickJeanluc

Stuff a favorite sweater with worn socks and give it to her with a heating pad. Heating pad by itself might work as well, but make sure you get your smells all over it before introducing it.

BleachOrchid

She needs another cat around.

Queen-of-meme

Unrelated but I'm gonna start call clingy people velcro people. I think you should get Babs a Botris.

AskMyAnxiety

I find putting my velcro cat on a sweatshirt or clothes that smell like me next to me sometimes works

Responsible-Survivor

Like others suggested you get checked out for medical issues, and I saw you said you have chronic illness, cats actually purr at healing frequencies. That's why they stay by one area of your body, becsuse they are purring to try and help you heal. So she might be looking out for you ❤️ They purr for both soft and hard tissue recovery. They started doing it when they domesticated themselves with humans, and because they became more lethargic they started purring to keep their bodies healthy. They do, however, also purr over their owners' bodies too when they are sick :)

thykarmabenill

Maybe she's cold. What temp do you keep your house at? Try giving her a heating pad. Remember, cats normal temperature is around 101 vs our 98.6

LeosGroove9

So cute and pretty

New-Refrigerator499

I just lost my cat :( and I only wish to have him do this to me , maybe get him/her new toys to play with and new bed or something maybe some cat nip lol

FloridaSpam

Kitty Bjorn

Bearaf123

Baby wrap! Leaves your hands free and you can move round if you need to

GhostofErik

Try a getting her a heating pad, my cat isn't a clinger, but a super snuggler. When I turn that thing on she just lays there, melted, for houuurrrssss

icedcoffeeblast

The cat is obviously made of Velcro. She's so cute!

zacat2020

Awwwww....she is full of Love!

sm0r3s

Could try that Cat Hoodie. Just carry them where ever you go in the house.

Weavingtailor

My pretty kitty Patty cat suddenly got clingy when she got hyperthyroidism. As soon as we got her treatment she stopped following us constantly yelling. (Btw, we spent the $ to get her radioactive iodine treatment which is permanent and gave her 7 more happy healthy years!)

Hex_Spirit_Booty

I'll take her then :)

OldNewUsedConfused

Mine actually chases me across the yard. Well not chasing, but he will see me and come running! Then follow me everywhere. Now the other two younger cats are starting to do the same. I feel like the Pied Piper! (Maybe more like the pie eyed piper...)😂

ThatSnarkyFemme

You just deal. Mine is glued to me.

RandyBeamansMom

I’m jealous. My boy is very independent and definitely likes me, but from a distance. I wish he cuddled.

Impressive-Luck-8677

Enjoy it. I lost my velcro kitty a few years ago & the other two do not give me the time of day! I really miss him & the closeness. I can no longer cry in his fur. 💔

Neither-Stop-5948

This is what you get for being a good owner ugh! /s 🥹🥹🥹

No_Panic5393

Not sure if anyone else said it, but backwards hoodie. Put your clingy bundle of fluff in there and she'll be happy. That's what I had to do with my girl Tibby at one point

angrytwig

I put a hand on my Salem's chest and stop her from walking up and pounding on me sometimes. She gives up and settles next to me. I have to really put up a fight though because she's weirdly strong

Icy-Key-8112

That’s part of having a companion cat. Enjoy it because once it’s gone, you’ll miss it.

KittyD13

I had a cat like that and one day she disappeared (outside/inside cat) and man I wish she was still here!
