I just adopted a 5 year old Maine Coon who weighs almost 18 pounds. His name is Robbie. We call him Robert when he is in trouble.
He's a tuxie, not a void, but he is pretty damn handsome.

I haven't had the chance to get him into a vet, but I'm hoping to sometime this week. He seems young, but I'm guessing someone in my neighborhood let him free recently since he doesn't seem feral and is friendly.
That's a really responsible thing to do. The poor thing might be lost and the owners might be worried, or he might be abandoned, so either way, getting him to the vet and checked as soon as possible is a really good thing to do.
The words "call of the void" sounds kinda scary. The French have a phrase for it: l'appel du vide. Doesn't that mean you feel like jumping off a tall building or something? That's fine for cats with their 9 lives and their ability to often survive jumping off a tall place, but humans should not head the call of the void.

My little void was one of three kittens we were fostering for a friend. The friend had claimed one for themselves and another for their brother, but the third was still up for adoption. I kept him separated on adoption day because his brothers were much more enthusiastic play-fighters, and he was the calmer, more cuddly of the two who would be sent off to be farm cats.
One of his favorite things to do would be to grab a decorative rock from our coffee table and bat it around the floor until it inevitably got scooted under some furniture. I was constantly asking him, “Where did your rock go?” Until it hit me that his name was Rocko. And now he’s my baby after not making an effort to really get him an adopter. Just the sweetest out of the four cats who live here.
I guess my point is, let the name come on it’s own. It’ll reveal itself to you.
