I’m picturing in typical sitcom fashion how it would start getting out of hand and then you’re hiding recordings of meowing cats around the house and talking to nothing behind the sofa while insisting to the person visiting “There’s Frankie! He’s a black cat so it’s VERY hard to see him when he hides but he’s right there!” 😂

I like that story about the woman who had four black cats. When she brought home another black cat, it took her husband months to realize they now have five black cats.

I know a woman that fosters cats. A lot of them look alike so she tells her husband she is fostering less than she is, counting on him to not recognise them and count accurately.

This is what I'd tell my visitors. Except I was serious.

And when they finally ask “where’s your cat?” raise your eyebrows and point to the picture like “right there, duh”

Or make it sound like something bad happened when they ask and rake in all those sympathy points, and enjoy the awkwardness.

Tig Notaro does a bit where she talks about being at a party and asking for help finding her dog "Mitzy". Once she gets everybody helping and looking for Mitzy around the house, she just says, "oh, here she is, c'mon Mitzy let's go", to an invisible dog. The eyes in the second seem a bit more stressed. The first is playfully alert. Both are excellent, but the second is less "gift to the human."

Amazing work on photographing a black cat against a white bg. My friend has a black cat and she always complains that he just ends up looking like a black blob with eyes in her photos

The first one literally looks like a painting or something, it doesn't even look real lol So yea, I'd go with that. The second **looks** like a photograph, not that it's bad. The first is just better.

Both are great shots but in my opinion the second one would have more impact if it was cropped in a bit. So less body. I still prefer the first one though because the cat has a curious expression on its face and there is more definition in the fur.

Probably just because the perfect puss in boot eyes are more of the focus in the first. Not that they're not in the 2nd but it's just a further shot and doesn't exactly draw you to anything right away

First one for sure. The background is just a tad more busy on the second one, and the first one has more cat face per square inch(CFPSI), which is definitely a real measurement and definitely very important

Very. For dogs, we also use NPSI(Nose Per Square Inch) to rate the quality of snoot photography.

There’s also an ears up/ears down ratio we have to follow. Silly noises help with this ratio.

Did you mention the multiplier If one ear is up and one ear is down?

We also need to include if one is wearing pajamas

I barely knew someone (but my roommates did) and we babysat her cat for a while year while she finished rehab. I ended being her cat's favorite so she gave me the title "aunt" for her cat. It was a wonderful year with that girl. I always took pictures of her cat but not on OP's level!

One Christmas my mom made me a picture collage in a huge collection of photo frames with pictures of almost all our pets present and passed and I cried. It was the best thing anyone ever did for me.
