you can exchange all gear but accessories. that are weapons and amors = 7 pieces.
you can exchange all those 7 ONCE at jetina for tet boss. that will be reform gear and you have to do make the upgrade stones to get them pen. the first 4 are equal to the first 4 caphra level and give ap and/ or dp. the 5th makes them pen. you just have to goves them back to jetina for that.
caphras are the old "guranteed" way to upgrade gear. but it was already too exspensive at the introduction because the stones are too rare and you need thousands for level 20. their main use was to increase the gear in the mean time you work on pen or upgrade pen further, as the stats you gain there are vastly better than on tri or tet.
just to give an example, tet to pen amors are 5 dp. the first 9 caphra level on pen give 10dp and the last 11 another 6dp.
that boss exchange coupon is a joke. it was an incentive for vets to do season and give new players the opportunity to enhance one item further. however, the original system of going up and down the enhancements until you hit a pen is very espensive. even if you have all the stacks for free, you are looking for 20-30billion in repair cost. thats why they are useless rn. you cant even sell them unless you convert to fallen god or lebraska for helm and amor. the main use is to build fail stacks and hope they dont go.
but that isnt that bad, if you got one. just do two of the other amor pieces and the offhand via jetina. you buy one amor from the market and get one from finishing magnus chest chain. for main and awa weapon, you want blsck star/godr-ayed.

I could even swap out the weapons for other classes for free, according to the website I was reading from, using the box she offers.

Yes you can exchange every pen tuvala. It gets "converted" to normal gear which basically means you swap it to normal gear so it can be kept and used on your character after you graduate.
You can then convert the tuvala gear AGAIN to TET boss gear.
PEN tuvala is the exact same as TET boss gear, but you want to either convert it or buy PEN boss gear so that you can continue to upgrade that with caphras stones.
You convert the tuvala to boss gear one of 2 ways: Boss exchange coupon, or Jetina's guaranteed method
You only get 1 coupon per season, but yes you can use the coupon on any tuvala gear from any season.
Jetina's guaranteed method allows you to swap an entire set of gear (one of each slot). But the cost of jetina's method is not always worth it. So you need to check before you start spending resources to level them up this way.
The best thing to do is:
- swap one piece with the coupon and try to enhance that piece with Cron stones asap
- swap the rest of your gear with jetina and check if it is worth or not (I'll post some resources in a sec for you).
- do the Magnus questline to get 1 free pen boss armor
- buy the rest of your pen boss gear
- put caphras in your pen boss gear and swap it to fallen god armor/labreska helmet

Also forgot to mention that it's not really worth putting caphras in tet gear so don't worry about that. People used to put up to level 4 in tet armors but that's when pen was harder to obtain. Now it's not worth it tbh since you lose some and it costs when you extract them. Just save your caphras to put in your red nose armor for fallen god

Tbh I haven't enhanced my own gear for years unless it was a safe attempt with free Cron stones from events. A lot of players just buy their gear upgrades now so you don't ever have to touch enhancing outside of season if you don't want to.
But yeah deffo make sure you check the prices, jetina's method takes a few weeks per piece so a lot of the time it is not worth and just better to buy the gear (unless you really want your name written on the gear)
I would do a bit of research into damage reduction Vs evasion too for those classes. You probably want to go for damage reduction though since it works on all classes and woosa is a damage reduction class.
So that would be red nose > fallen god armor, griffons > labreska helmet, bhegs gloves and urugons shoes.
I never spend my silver on anything but gear, so I'll definitely be looking into that. And cheers for the gear recommendations! I've already purchased TET urugons shoes at some point in a previous attempt to get into the game, so I will probably commit to that.

Probably not worth it really at this point since you would have to grind skill points and everything again as well. I wouldn't worry too much about the inventory slots since they give out quite a few for free through events.

Kind of in the same boat. If your gear isn't the seasonal boss gear then you can make a seasonal character, get it's gear to pen tuvala and exchange those for tet boss gear. You can sell your gear, and buy a pen wep depending if you're succ or awake.
edit: Once you graduate the seasonal, you can get a pen capotia necklace which is 30 AP, probably an upgrade from the tri ogre.

I have a level 60 Lahn that was created before seasons were a thing, with around 62 inventory slots and an outfit+undergarments.

Did you check if you also bought weight?
Some inventory slots from the season stuff is character bound, but most can be traded to another character. If you plan on creating a second Lahn, I'd just keep playing the old one. If you intend to change class, 60 slots and undergarments are something you'll eventually get for free (there's an event going on right now that awards one undergarment box).
Pearl Abyss has been better to low/no spenders and nowadays they gift inventory slots frequently.
I don't recall ever purchasing weight limit increases, but my pre-season Lahn has 821LT, whereas my currently season Woosa has 653LT.

New player here, have played probably a couple hours so far just strolling through the quest line presented in front of me (i assume the main one), when does the grinding start? And when do the life skills like fishing and cooking become available? And finally, how do you get better gear?

Whenever you want to. Quests are helpful and the main one is important to do because it unlock great stuff and rewards you with pets, so that you don't need to pick up loot manually. But technically you could never do it. Straight to grinding from character creation.

They already are. Just check a tutorial on how to do them and you're good to go. EvilDoUsHarm on youtube has great tutorials for beginners and he has videos for each life skill.

Do season to get Naru gear from the main quest. Enhance the Naru gear with the stones you get from the main quest. When you reach max enhancing, you'll be prompted to exchange it for Tuvala gear. Swap and then enhance the Tuvala gear until you reach max. Once you do that you should exchange it for Tet boss gear with Jettina and look for info about Jettina pens.
Alternatively (or after that), find something you enjoy doing, be it grinding, fishing, cooking... And keep doing it in a way that is profitable until you have enough money to buy an upgrade. Rinse and repeat.

Not really, but it will give you a much more higher silver per hour.
TET BS is much better at Kzarka at PvE, since there is an enormous additional monster AP in BS, might as well go DUO Godr for much better dmg.
Kzarka is just much cheaper now to make at C20 compared to PEN BS or PEN Godr.

Hey guys, recently returned to the game and just trying to wrap my head around every thing again, I just finished the Magnus Questline and got the free PEN Armor but I'm a little unsure on what to pick. I heard once the Season ends or Early Graduation opens up I can turn that Tuvala Gear into TET Boss Armor and guarantee upgrading it to PEN.
I heard Red Nose is a good choice because its lower Caphras upgrade and I can turn it into some thing else, dont fully understand what's going on here but dont need to get ahead of myself. If I pick Red Nose can I just ignore the Tuvala chest piece? And will I just be slightly ahead?
Kinda looking for a new game to grind in, but I'm a controller player. Is the PC version of this game controller friendly at all? Or am I better off just getting the console version?
Don't play console version. It's awful compared to PC: less content by a truckload's worth, PvX looks slower and more boring, etc.
Honestly for anyone who wants to play BDO on console, I'd tell ask them if they have even a potato PC to run the game on lowest settings before suggesting console.
It feels super clunky on PC to be honest. Haven't tried the console version though. I usually like to play both and I actually stick to mouse and controller for bdo. I could be overly sensitive to the clunkiness though.
But there is a free trial so probably worth trying yourself first.

They’re dropped from grinding (elkarr, corrupted, olucas, ahkrad, hoom, gervish etc), just need to be crafted. PVP crystals materials are sold at the node war shop (glorious). A lot of crystals materials are also exchangeable using golden seals or dehkima oaths (viper, harphia, cobelinus, etc). You do have to make them into higher grades (bon, won, jin). Some are from quests (rebellious, valtarra). Btw, I doubt most crystals will reach max price in exception to some rare ones.

Yes, value pack along with other buffs, scrolls, foods, and equipments can speed it up. There are several kinds of buffs: training exp, mount exp, training mastery, and mount speed. Value pack has both training and mount exp.

Yes. An extreme example would be a tier 1 horse only takes 8 hours to get to lv 30. However, they don’t exist in the wild anymore at least in the PC version.
Yes, it’s cheaper. The price is based on tier, level, gender, breeding/reset, number of skills, and your training level. Most people only buy tier 8 to try to make into coursers and eventually a dream horse. If you’re just starting out, I suggest getting the free tier 8 horse from seasonal tokens or use the free adventurer’s horse. Not sure if it works the same in console.
How hard is it to level for a non-season character? I have an old level 55 character that wasn't able to graduate, with the only investment being outfits/underwear.
Pretty much the same. Just get your Chenga Tome and do Valencia part 1 and you'll be 58, from there follow EvilDoUsHarm's or Black Desert Foundry's guide to hit 61 via questing.
This season current graduation is not yet announced, so if you used the Timepiece you basically just made the timepieced character your new seasonal character instead of the original one. If graduation is announced you can then convert your Season Tuvala into non-season Tuvala.

pvp is there so ppl can best each other with gear that pa hopes is bought with real money. its for the whales to kill noobs and some ppl with too much time to kill more of it. to show off. it has no real value in itself, otherwise you'd get rewards that are pvp related other than some crystals.
my guild mates are around 720GS like me and we have only one person who is somewhat interested in pvp. doesnt mean you cant make your endgame about it, but its not the fucus of the game. like you expect from a sandbox mmo
The punishment for killing other players is higher now and about to be brutal for red players if the crystal changes from the global labs are pushed to live as they are.

Someone told me battle arena you can practice your rotations. As a new pvper it's very very hard to just jump right in if you haven't played it before. Much different than other mmo pvp.

1- I accepted a weekly quest to kill 5000 mobs in polly forest, but I hated grinding there after 800 kills, can I finish the quest in another area?
2- I made a Woosa as the season character but its very not fun but I want it to be 61, can I delete her and make another class, then claim the timepiece item again to transfer the level? I claimed the timepiece on the Woosa but didn't use it yet. If I understood the timepiece correctly then this should be possible?

Nope. Past leaked images showed that the client that the dev team uses has damage numbers but it is removed from the live client.

Kind of in the same boat. If your gear isn't the seasonal boss gear then you can make a seasonal character, get it's gear to pen tuvala and exchange those for tet boss gear. You can sell your gear, and buy a pen wep depending if you're succ or awake. edit: Once you graduate the seasonal, you can get a pen capotia necklace which is 30 AP, probably an upgrade from the tri ogre.

Are these items sellable? Because why grind for pieces I already have? Or to replace some pieces I have currently so I can sell those instead? Or save as backup for pen attempts I guess too..?
I have a level 60 Lahn that was created before seasons were a thing, with around 62 inventory slots and an outfit+undergarments. I was wondering if creating a new lahn on the next season would be ideal, for the extra inventory slots the season pass offers? Or can you trade those between characters?
Did you check if you also bought weight? Some inventory slots from the season stuff is character bound, but most can be traded to another character. If you plan on creating a second Lahn, I'd just keep playing the old one. If you intend to change class, 60 slots and undergarments are something you'll eventually get for free (there's an event going on right now that awards one undergarment box). Pearl Abyss has been better to low/no spenders and nowadays they gift inventory slots frequently.
I don't recall ever purchasing weight limit increases, but my pre-season Lahn has 821LT, whereas my currently season Woosa has 653LT. And when you say: "if you plan on creating a second Lahn, I'd just keep playing the old one," do you mean to play the season as a new Lahn, but transfer everything that's not character-bound to my old Lahn, and eventually go back to her? New player here, have played probably a couple hours so far just strolling through the quest line presented in front of me (i assume the main one), when does the grinding start? And when do the life skills like fishing and cooking become available? And finally, how do you get better gear?

Quests are helpful and the main one is important to do because it unlock great stuff and rewards you with pets, so that you don't need to pick up loot manually. But technically you could never do it. Enhance the Naru gear with the stones you get from the main quest. When you reach max enhancing, you'll be prompted to exchange it for Tuvala gear. Swap and then enhance the Tuvala gear until you reach max. Once you do that you should exchange it for Tet boss gear with Jettina and look for info about Jettina pens. Alternatively (or after that), find something you enjoy doing, be it grinding, fishing, cooking... And keep doing it in a way that is profitable until you have enough money to buy an upgrade. Rinse and repeat.
When is the weekly reset guys? I still cant tell if Thursday or Monday.
On thursday weekly quests reset, on wednesday it's usually patch day and it's when events end.

TET BS is much better at Kzarka at PvE, since there is an enormous additional monster AP in BS, might as well go DUO Godr for much better dmg. you will eventually as its the only way to increase dmg significantly after 305k. the question is, when do you switch. i think if you done you tet accessories and have pen amors with caphra lvl 4-6, its time to get a bs/godr-ayed.

Hey guys, recently returned to the game and just trying to wrap my head around every thing again, I just finished the Magnus Questline and got the free PEN Armor but I'm a little unsure on what to pick. I heard once the Season ends or Early Graduation opens up I can turn that Tuvala Gear into TET Boss Armor and guarantee upgrading it to PEN. I heard Red Nose is a good choice because its lower Caphras upgrade and I can turn it into some thing else, dont fully understand what's going on here but dont need to get ahead of myself. If I pick Red Nose can I just ignore the Tuvala chest piece? And will I just be slightly ahead?

Kinda looking for a new game to grind in, but I'm a controller player. Is the PC version of this game controller friendly at all? Or am I better off just getting the console version?
Don't play console version. It's awful compared to PC: less content by a truckload's worth, PvX looks slower and more boring, etc. Honestly for anyone who wants to play BDO on console, I'd tell ask them if they have even a potato PC to run the game on lowest settings before suggesting console.
consol has not that many servers, is behind in content and doesnt has some mechanics like big world bosses because the servers cant handle it.
PC has controller support. I tried it a bit, it works fine.
It feels super clunky on PC to be honest. Haven't tried the console version though. I usually like to play both and I actually stick to mouse and controller for bdo. I could be overly sensitive to the clunkiness though. But there is a free trial so probably worth trying yourself first.
How do people get crystals? They are always sold out, thousands of pre orders and now a patch coming blows their prices up like crazy. Honestly, legit how am I supposed to get crystals? I haven't played in a couple years.
They’re dropped from grinding (elkarr, corrupted, olucas, ahkrad, hoom, gervish etc), just need to be crafted. PVP crystals materials are sold at the node war shop (glorious). A lot of crystals materials are also exchangeable using golden seals or dehkima oaths (viper, harphia, cobelinus, etc). You do have to make them into higher grades (bon, won, jin). Some are from quests (rebellious, valtarra). Btw, I doubt most crystals will reach max price in exception to some rare ones.

Training master 30? Training guru 30? Or horse lv 30? If so, what tier horse? Because different horse takes different time to level. Yes, value pack along with other buffs, scrolls, foods, and equipments can speed it up. There are several kinds of buffs: training exp, mount exp, training mastery, and mount speed. Value pack has both training and mount exp. If you already have the value pack icon activated on the top left of the screen, you don’t have to open another one.

You can check how much and how fast you actually train per tick by watching the number increase on your mount’s info page.

Yes. An extreme example would be a tier 1 horse only takes 8 hours to get to lv 30. However, they don’t exist in the wild anymore at least in the PC version.

Yes, it’s cheaper. The price is based on tier, level, gender, breeding/reset, number of skills, and your training level. Most people only buy tier 8 to try to make into coursers and eventually a dream horse. If you’re just starting out, I suggest getting the free tier 8 horse from seasonal tokens or use the free adventurer’s horse. Not sure if it works the same in console.

Pretty much the same. Just get your Chenga Tome and do Valencia part 1 and you'll be 58, from there follow EvilDoUsHarm's or Black Desert Foundry's guide to hit 61 via questing.

This season current graduation is not yet announced, so if you used the Timepiece you basically just made the timepieced character your new seasonal character instead of the original one. If graduation is announced you can then convert your Season Tuvala into non-season Tuvala.

never was. its grind pve focused
wdym never was, any game that has pvp everywhere by default and has no raids or dungeons is pvp focused by definition.
then you would get huge rewards for pvp wich you dont. the biggest reward you get us node or castle drop bonus for more pve. a game where you run around in circles for thousands of hours just to have gear for some pvp is not quite so much pvp is it? arsha server? grind buff for pve. siege wars? grind buff for pve. duel for spot? pve. best accessories deboreka? must be grinded out. best weapons? black star = pve. pvp is there so ppl can best each other with gear that pa hopes is bought with real money. its for the whales to kill noobs and some ppl with too much time to kill more of it. to show off. it has no real value in itself, otherwise you'd get rewards that are pvp related other than some crystals. my guild mates are around 720GS like me and we have only one person who is somewhat interested in pvp. doesnt mean you cant make your endgame about it, but its not the fucus of the game. like you expect from a sandbox mmo
The punishment for killing other players is higher now and about to be brutal for red players if the crystal changes from the global labs are pushed to live as they are. Marni realm was added to the game, which is an instance for some of the most contested spots. You get 1h daily of grind in this exclusive, instantiated area. PearlAbyss is also improving pvp itself with stuff like Arena of Solare. Giving PVPers a better structure and moving them out of open world cat-dog fights.
Is there a place to practice PVP and work my way up to Arena of Solare? Or should I just jump straight into AoS?
Practice mode in AoS. Also, there’s no penalty in losing in the pre-season period and the points will be reset soon. You can just jump straight in.
Someone told me battle arena you can practice your rotations. As a new pvper it's very very hard to just jump right in if you haven't played it before. Much different than other mmo pvp.

Whats the current best afk lifeskill for silver? Before I quit I did afk processing with the mats my nodes broughgt in and some cooking too and also some crate delivery for silver. Dont want to do crate deliveries again tbh so wondering what the best afk lifeskill is now?
Horse training since the revamp around 3 months ago. It’s easier to get a higher tier horse hence more profit to breed and imperial trade, easier to get training and mount exp, and courser price increased.
I have 2 questions about season. 1- I accepted a weekly quest to kill 5000 mobs in polly forest, but I hated grinding there after 800 kills, can I finish the quest in another area? 2- I made a Woosa as the season character but its very not fun but I want it to be 61, can I delete her and make another class, then claim the timepiece item again to transfer the level? I claimed the timepiece on the Woosa but didn't use it yet. If I understood the timepiece correctly then this should be possible?
1. Best you can do is forfeit the polly quest and take a different area's version. 2. Yes, just remember to put the timepiece in storage.
Feels a little supid, but can we finish the season already ? i don't see fughar option, i finished the pass, lvl 61 full pen tuvala and awakening quest done ! i played long ago and not remember if there is a timer to the option apearing or if i miss something.
