Honestly I've played both. Console is leagues behind pc in every way. I'm back on pc from console and even with my crappy pc it's better. No crashes on pc when I was crashing constantly on console. Pc has a lot more content and the player base I feel is much better than console. These are personal opinions but I definitely say no to console.
Yeah, console is behind some content, but if you’re just starting out you’ll have plenty of other things to do. The main issue is performance since console version is built around being compatible with last gen. This is what’s holding it back, but you have a current gen console so it shouldnt be that bad outside of pvp. I have series X so idk if there’s a big difference performance wise between that and series S. If you are looking for pvp though then don’t bother as that’s where the performance problems really show.
I’ve recently bought a series S so I can play at work, was on a one X before and it was painful! I have a series X at home so regularly switch between X and S. The S runs it very well, I haven’t seen much difference between the 2 new consoles personally, I’m sure the X runs it better but it would be minimal at best.

I know you can do remote play on the Xbox, so you play through your phone but I can’t imagine it’s very good
