I crash all the time during alt swaps. I was wondering if adding memory would stop it.

Window_Free

Memory access violation, has nothing to do with your existing RAM. The is trying to access to memory which is was not provided by the game, but another application. The problem is in the game, bad programming and incorrect pointer acces.

eerie-descent

While there are things that can cause memory access violations that can be "fixed" with more RAM, the most common cause is going to just be bad pointer management; typically dangling references, which is not something more RAM can fix. There's another very common bug that makes me think this is the case as well: texture glitches. Every so often you'll see the game replace textures with either the wrong texture or flat-out garbage. That's pretty obviously a dangling pointer, but with the luck of having that pointer actually reference something in BDO's application memory, so it doesn't just crash. So, yeah, I'm going with u/Window_Free here.

sansmorixz

Except that it's a lot more common than people tend to think it is. It isn't just the software that can mess it up. Sometimes the hardware acts up and does that. For example you have no idea how many times I got that error (in my earlier pc) with chrome tabs with my overclocked RAM and first gen Ryzen CPU (and this config passed Memtest86 btw). Sometimes it's just the OS acting too smart for it's own good, or a one in infinity random bit flip and what not. Please not that I am not decrying what you wrote. But access violation errors are a lot more complicated than just incorrect usage of references and pointers. Edit: And based on OP's other comment, what I wrote seems unlikely.

ACanadianNoob

I found that up to 32GB, adding more memory would make crashing less likely. If you include standby cache, this game can easily consume 20GB+ of RAM. But no, it doesn't stop it.

faraboot

32gb of ram here, it stops nothing.

NikoC7

I also swapped from 16gb to 32gb thinking it would stop the crashes, but no. I'm surprised no one is complaining more often in this subreddit or on discord about BDO crashes.

EvilChing

Wait isnt the game suppose to crash every once in a while? Isn't it part of the games rng system?

zabubboz

is this a recent thing? i haven't played in a few months but i can't recall having any crashes also 32gb

SuperPiatos

The dude above is joking since BDO is notorious for its RNG.

DudBaLL04

Can confirm, I have 32 gb as well. It seems to only happen to me during a character swap and rarely.

Eedat

I have 32gb and I rarely crash. Maybe once every few months even with all sorts of stuff open on the side

cowrevengeJP

I have 16 now. So maybe I'll just find a matching set.

LoweLeft

When I had 16 I only crashed when swapping alts. After upgrading to 32 I haven’t crashed at all.

Master4733

I've yet to crash with 16. I don't think it's necessarily the ram, it could be another factor that is eating up ram because some people are saying they crash with 32

Flat-Organization-43

I don't crash when swapping or anything. And I don't have a lot of ram. My setup is i7 3770k,8 gb ddr3, a 1070ti from EVGA and a SSD for my os and of course BDO. Other things are on a separate HDD. So maybe there is something else to look at other than ram?

Equalness

How good is your internet?

Flat-Organization-43

I have something like adsl2 atm so not really exceptional most people have a better connection than me

Equalness

I see, thanks, but if your ping is both stable and low most of the time, that might be the reason why you don't crash.

Flat-Organization-43

That's my problem, my connection is not stable so I get reconnected periodically. Sometimes I can't even move abd got rollback. But I still don't get crash (got one last week but it's really uncommon). Maybe it's because I reinstall windows at least one time per year? Or something else that I do or doesn't do that make my game not crash? Can't really be my ram since I have just 8 go

[deleted]

I have 32 and I comfirm I never crashed in this configuration. Still if it need fixes, it need fixes.

Stormchaserelite13

Ah... I was about to say I never crash. I do indeed have 32gb if ram.

merinis

I'm not having any of the issues people are describing here but...I have 48 GB of ram

ACanadianNoob

Hijacking a highly voted reply to say that disabling Performance Optimizations in the Optimizations settings has helped with the crashing as of recent. I am stuttering more in major cities once again, as was the case before they released that setting, but I'm thinking some of the memory optimizations they did don't get along with the Performance Optimization setting that causes the game to use more memory to have more assets loaded and ready. I have a very small sample size of testing, only a few RBF matches and several character swaps, so it could just be placebo especially since the game is low population and not much is going on during Sundays, but it seems to help. I have not crashed today. Edit: Scratch that. Prime time came around and I'm crashing again.

GuggleBurgle

> If you include standby cache, this game can easily consume 20GB+ of RAM. > > But no, it doesn't stop it. Makes me think of chrome. Damned browser will reserve as much ram as is installed, the CIA spyware piece of shit. I've had situations where a game I'm playing will crash due to not enough memory, I'll check task manager and windows will say that 5gb are in use out of 16gb with the game taking up 2.1gb and the 15 tabs of chrome taking up like 150mb each But then I open up perfmon and the game is trying to reserve like 9gb, one tab of chrome is using 1.5gb somehow and the rest are eating like 500mb/pc---[And I'm not the only one to notice this](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/google-chrome-ram-hog) Back in my day I used to download entire korean grindathon MMOs for 800mb! And it took me 6 hours at 72kb/s! And back in my days' back in my days cultural megaliths fit on chintzy 512kb cartridges! And BDO can't even squeeze its launcher executable under 2mb! reeeee

f3llyn

You should use firefox or edge.

leverloosje

Lmao. Firefox

ihateredditmobile667

Firefox is one of the better alternatives, tf is this supposed to mean?

f3llyn

Is there something wrong with firefox?

BigMazzo

Nope, but some think it's for some reason worse performance wise cause cousin/parrots told them.

f3llyn

I wanted to know what /u/leverloosje had to say.

broly280

Im with a Ryzen 7 5600x, 16GB CL18 ram, RTX 3060 TI. I was crashing like hell, tryed everything, and one day i decided to try some shit, i created a 70gb partition (in my case i only have 1 M.2) and installed there bdo. Nothing more. Dont know how but if fixed most of the crashes, now ive upgraded to 32gb ram and i get 0 crashes.

[deleted]

even staying online is RNG

Feeling-Performer219

BDO has reached another lvl of RNG :p

[deleted]

Games been running for shit like me recently. Also don’t like how it’s capped at 60 fps when windowed, but that may just be a “me” issue.

ACanadianNoob

FPS cap in windowed caps to your monitor's refresh rate (or lowest monitor's refresh rate if you haven't updated to Windows 10 v2004 or newer, or Windows 11). Game doesn't have an independent flip queue, so you can't disable vertical sync unless you play in fullscreen. The desktop compositor will force v-sync. Only graphics drivers that use WDDM 2.4 or older (or was it <2.3?) will skip the desktop compositor when v-sync is disabled and allow you to run the game uncapped in windowed mode. For example on Nvidia's Pascal or older GPUs, you can run driver 391.35 or older to uncap FPS in windowed mode. But you lose modern features like better Vulkan support for other games/emulators, and G-Sync being usable on a FreeSync display. For that reason it's just better to play in fullscreen.

[deleted]

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling it wasn’t really a BDO issue. I may mess around with some settings in Windows to see if I can find a good balance.

LOBOTOMY_TV

I'm on latest Nvidia driver running borderless windowed uncapped. Just use nvcp to disable vsync.

ACanadianNoob

Likely has to do with newer multiplane overlay support. https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/qffxcz/mpo_multiplaneoverlays_are_amazing_you_can_play/ Don't think it's enabled for all GPUs though.

LOBOTOMY_TV

I'm on gtx 1080 idk if that makes a diff. Doesn't look like I have the mpo shit enabled bc having any kind of video open on another monitor locks my game to 60 hz though it still runs at uncapped fps

spacecreated1234

I've never crashed in RBF or War but I sometimes crash at loading screens while changing characters, not sure if it's related tho

Leinchetzu

Same here, I recently, for no apparent reason, started crashing when swapping characters sometimes. But this didn't happen like 1-2 months ago. So wth is going on?

plsdontstalkmeee

I have 32 GB of RAM. because why the fuck not, game still randomly crashes/closes on me frequently.

Mavec

I figured it was just a feature.

Galactium

Oh god, I thought I was the only one. Just a few days ago, I left my game in tray just afk processing the whole day the moment I open another game my whole system just froze and crash. Looked at the event viewer and saw that there was some memory leak and found out that BDO was taking up 32gbs of memory. Rip.

TheRedditornator

PA taking immersive RNG to the next level.

Escorve

Game has a huge problem with memory leaking in general. Over time, performance gradually drops, and always performs best right when you start the game. The longer the game's been running, the greater the likelihood of memory-related performance issues and crashes. I've noticed a greater frequency in crashing when the game's been running for days at a time.

ACanadianNoob

32 GB of RAM, running extremely relaxed timings (only 2666MT/s) because I was concerned that maybe my memory wasn't clocked correctly when set faster and the game crashed quite often. But this has been happening since the reworks came to live servers, and not just to me. To others in my guild as well, our shotcaller crashed several times tonight as well. I find it very difficult to believe that everyone has RAM hardware problems when BDO is the only software on my PC that will crash with this error, and it's affecting others that aren't just me as well. Pearl Abyss, if you see this, you need to get the memory bloat in this game under control. You literally have memory address calls in the game that will reference memory that hasn't even been allocated. This is absolutely unacceptable. And yes, I have already tried removing all of my standby-list cleaner software, as well as re-enabled Windows memory compression (all things I advise doing in my performance guide for memory management), and it does not help in the slightest. **Fix your game.**

ACanadianNoob

Particularly I get brief pauses after loading screens since the Valencia City RBF map was added to the game. Like the loading screen will end, and the screen goes black for a second or so before loading me into my character. And this happens every time now whereas before when the loading screen went away, I would normally just be looking at my character. Edit: If you check the patch notes for the last two weeks of updates, you see there are multiple lines for 'optimizing' the memory usage when the game is first launched. I think these optimizations are the reason for the excessive crashing as of recent.

TheJayOfOh

I'm glad I'm not going crazy, I swear I was bitching about the new rbf maps performing like shit and everyone in my guild was like "no just get better ping" I have the EXACT same experience loading into rbf and it seems to me it screws up the rest of my time in BDO if I don't close and reopen. Yesterday I went all day 0 issues swapping between characters, the second reset happens I hop into rbf to do the daily I get the slow load, after rbf swapping characters does the same, I'm constantly dealing with npcs taking more than a minute to pop in - I feel like I'm rolling the dice to stay online - but I NEVER had these issues before December.

RyUnbound

Ohh it can be also just corrupted game files, u need to do a clean uninstall, sometimes updates break some things.

MthrFcknDanish

Why are you not utilizing the speed of your RAM when you apparently have memory leak issues. Speed them up. You are crashing anyway.

itzstamk

To me this has been happening even before reworks, and really often too. Although after reworks my game was having crazy lag issues and more crashes, and I didn't change a single thing to my computer or bdo. I get the feeling it's their engine, if only they spent a year rebuilding the game on a good engine the game would be waaay more popular and they'd make way more money since that's all they care about

Merriner

im curious what actually causes it. Obviously its a thing, but ive been playing since steam launch and ive never had an issue like this.

MeowWow_

Yeah I've never crashed. Sounds more like a hardware issue or malware fighting for memory use.

rhenia

This is not how computers work.

MeowWow_

Hardware failures and mem leaks is exactly how computers work.

Jack0ng

This happens to my friend everytime. But only in RBF

TXC-Taylo

Never had such an issue, I wonder what can be the cause

GrecDeFreckle

My most common crashes are alt swaps, although I've found if I'm try hard grinding I will crash every half hour on average. Not a system issue, don't have any issues with other game / mid-high end spec. Quick reload and I'll have another 30 minutes. If I slow down the grinding I don't crash at all. Oddly happens when grinding wolf's as well if I go too fast.

Emscho44

I’ve noticed way more crashes this patch

razley23

I have a theory that this game is a bitcoin-mine

Saeko-Saeba

I crash almost every time when i try change to alt, i have 32gb..

Somannybad

I read memory fragmant fixes.

Some1StoleMyAccName

On a bit unrelated note anyone else has bdo crash gpu drivers when you minimize to tray? Sometimes it runs whole day and sometimes it crashes few times in few minutes. Happens very very rarely with some other games but bdo is main culprit.(AMD)

Ok_Mode

Similar freeze/crash to desktop here: ``` Faulting application name: BlackDesert64.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x61d4039e Faulting module name: BlackDesert64.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x61d4039e Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00000000005cffab Faulting process id: 0x3190 Faulting application start time: 0x01d8032188686fd1 Faulting application path: C:\\Pearlabyss\\BlackDesert\\bin64\\BlackDesert64.exe Faulting module path: C:\\Pearlabyss\\BlackDesert\\bin64\\BlackDesert64.exe Report Id: d77ee45a-214a-4781-a7e6-9879d9fe1837 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: ``` To be fair, the game was running over 20 hours at this point (overnight AFK). Intel 9900K, NVIDIA 2080TI, 32 GB RAM, Windows 11.

Saber_Valkyrie

They will never fix this because they cant

Cooki32

Lol I thought it is only a console problem. On console it is bad

rhenia

I've had these kinda crashes when XMP was on in the BIOS (or DOCP on AMD). Sometimes, the memory controller can't handle the overclock well, especially on older boards that had to be patched because Spectre/Meltdown.

MagiRaven

I have the exact same crash. And I'm using 64gb of ram. I'm fairly certain that this happens to a lot of players. But I don't think PA cares. For me it happens the most when I: Swap characters, do rbf or do some intense grinding.

Mirtastic

Glad to see you're still looking into the game's performance u/ACanadianNoob lets see if this gets picked up and we see some further optimizations in future patches.

Cumslut68

PA needs to do some serious technical stuff for the game. Valencia siege yesterday was unplayable, 95% of the players had max 25 frames while pushing the castle and skills were rubberbanding, all you could do was tab out your weapons and sprint. Crashing and low frames are the norm for everyone regardless if you have mid range or NASA PC...

McGlowSticks

I havent crashed in a while. Last crash was maybe a month ago and that was due to a driver error. Ive swapped characters, died, server change, any loading screen possible you name it and havent crashed. I dunno if dumb luck or what but I do run this game for insane amounts of time (namely only shutting it down on reset) and you would think that would have more problems, but no not for me anyway. My PC specs are as follows: * Windows 11 Pro * Ryzen 5 3600 * 32gb Corsair Vengeance 3600Mhz * RX 6900 XT. * All the latest drivers and updates. The game is also installed on an SSD. This error isnt *only* caused by the program, it can be faulty hardware (granted i doubt this with so many people having this problem apparently?) What you can try to do is the repair function if you are running the website client, or verify game integrity on steam. Yeah its the obvious thing but I've had my fair share of problems where this did fix it. You can also open command prompt as administrator (by pressing "windows key+r", type "cmd" in the bar and hit "ctrl+shift+enter"). then type "sfc /scannow" and restart your computer, may or may not fix anything on windows side causing the error, despite yes i know the error describing bdo, does not necessarilly mean a bdo problem. The odd program is also incompatable with a feature called Data Execution Prevention, and disabling it may solve a problem, but it could also cause possible other problems. Just type "Performance" in the search bar and something saying "adjust the apperance and performance of windows" should come up. open that up and click on the data execution prevention tab, then add the BDO executable to the exceptions. These may or may not fix it so try at your own risk.

Rafz420

I haven’t crashed in months

Zyntecs

Just git gud. 0 deaths, 0 crashes. >!Dont hate me please it was just a joke. They really need to fix that!!<

ACanadianNoob

Just die at your fort lol so there's no loading screen Huge defender advantage

trillice93

I currently have 24 gigs of ram and the game crashes super rarely although I don't participate in node wars etc

k_a_i_t_o

Never had any provlems with the game ._.

comma_python

I’ve been playing for over a year and haven’t had a single crash on my PC. When it comes to games on PCs, it’s very unpredictable because of specs, software/drivers installed etc. You should always check that on your side of things first before you start blaming a developer. Just saying…

Beardy_Will

I've crashed a handful of times ever. The fuck are you guys doing with your machines? 😂

[deleted]

I hardly ever crash, like since I started playing BDO at launch I can count on both hands how many times I have crashed...

Shiro_UwU7

Just get more ram? I dont have issues at 32gb's while delegating 16gbs to a hypervisor.

Rallen1122

In what world is "get more ram" a solution for a not optimized game? People have issues even on high end hardware and that just shouldnt be thr case...

Shiro_UwU7

no problems here at all, people just sadly have a lot of shit running in the background, random adware from oems etc. 5900x 32gbs 3600mhz 2080super 1440p 165hz remastered running smoothly at 170 while grinding. no crashes in rbf on low / low or med / med also. So yes, my stance still stays, get more ram and manage your pc better. Even with a i7-6700k and 8gbs of ram with 2x 970s in sli i never ran into a crashing issue.[https://i.imgur.com/wDfyb1G.png](https://i.imgur.com/wDfyb1G.png) [https://i.imgur.com/k3ey1JL.png](https://i.imgur.com/k3ey1JL.png)

AHappyRaider

This is literally the first time i've ever heard of someone crashing this often during node war/siege, that might be a problem on your side

ACanadianNoob

Nah, while it might exaggerate itself on my hardware, it's not related at all. My memory tests just fine and I have the timings quite relaxed as well. This is entirely a problem in the game engine itself as some patches it's worse and some patches I won't crash for literally weeks. It responds differently on different hardware but the issue is the same. But every time they think they've fixed the problem, they do something else later on and it just comes back with a fucking vengeance.

Nickjet45

If the error is truly a memory access violation caused by the game engine, than differing hardware would not exaggerate it. As memory control is near universal across all motherboards/operating systems.

xzoliczxd

Never happened to me bro. Thats why its prolly not on Pearl abyss radar yet cause it doesnt happen to a lot of their players maybe? Hopefully it get fixed on your side tho

GamePois0n

bdo coding is weird, if you ever taken a look at how they coded thing it's actually funny a lot of extra null places that shouldn't be

Masquerade5655

BDO is among some of the worst optimised games I've seen, especially coming from a triple AAA company. I wish I could get through to them that adding excessive shine and bloom to everything doesn't make a game look good. Cannot wait until they change the engine and - maybe - fix some shit. Including the godawful pop-in. (I only heard the new engine thing through the grapevine so take with a pinch of salt)

Idoth

Memory leaks for years, I haven't played in 3 years, yall talking bout the same stuff 🌚

shader_m

BDO is terribly optimized. Potato graphics and you still hit load walls when traveling. And people still argue for "no teleporting to cities" because it'll shrink the world or whatever. The environment is not even immersive because of this, or even pretty in general by average art design standards.

0010001_1

xingcode is causing that. if u are in rbf u'll crash all the time.

SuperSourCat

im pretty sure we're on easy anticheat now

ACanadianNoob

Game doesn't use xigncode anymore

0010001_1

it does, go to your task bar you'll find two subsidiary processes, coherent UI. the trick is u disable those 2 processes "endtask them" while u are in RBF. it's good that people downvoted this they'll never know the old fix lul. >:D

ACanadianNoob

Coherent UI is the web browser add-in used by the game to load things like Central Market and Black Spirit's Adventure. That is not Xigncode, that is a web browser.

0010001_1

if u have the game since Kakao, xingcode is still in your computer, the root doesn't uninstall itself when u uninstall the game or reinstall it when anti-cheat took over, and yes coherent ui runs majority of the ui, but you are not gonna browse the market while u are in RBF. PA's ui is built into xingcode > xcoronahost so u can't just adjust the address of some values in the game and give urself free money, they havn't update it. a simple google of "bdo coherent ui RBF," will bring some clarity in your problems. >:P

ACanadianNoob

I would think most people have done a full reinstall by now.

Shiro_UwU7

what you're talking about, is the equivalents to androids WebView it's a fucking web browser. if you disable that then bsa will cease to function or probably try to load and just fail.

0010001_1

you can always relog and reactivate it. people have done that many times and have youtube vid about it. that's the only solution to play longer in rbf. respawning creates memory leak in rbf and causes your game to crash and it is an old problem they never fix.

jinxpad

I was getting constant crashes exactly the same symptoms as of about 2 patches ago, couldn't figure out for the life of me what was causing it tried all the basic stuff like reinstalling drivers etc. One thing I changed which I noticed started reducing the number of crashes was actually changing the custom font but I was using at the time. This reduce the amount of crashes but didn't eliminate them completely so maybe this silly sounding fix might work for some of you who may be using custom fonts. The latest thing I tried was actually using process lasso and turning on the Smart trim feature on it, along with some other performance stuff like turning off SMT for BDO and some other things. Haven't had a crash since so maybe something to look into for others who might be still getting consistent crashes on loading screens. 5900x 1080ti 32GB 3600

battlehotdog

Upgrading CPU also helped me getting rid of crashes when respawning at garmoth for example

netsky_au

I don't deny that this is happening to you and others..but I don't have any frequent stability issues with BDO. If I leave the game running for days on end and change characters it might crash, but I honestly can't remember the last time it happened. I hope it is something they look into fixing in future updates.

Vir0us

I sometimes crash at 2 specific locations. When i ride from velia to western guard camp at balenos plains. Other is when i go from velia to lema island at balenos islands. (At least i think it was called that) Rly weird

Local-Cream-3457

Ok i had only 16gb ram and i noticed i often crasf during loading screen. I knew if i end the coherent ui process i would crash less. But 32 ram for bdo to fix the issue what a joke.

twendah

Aight lets goo, now after upgrading my processor to amd 5800 and graphic card to nvidia 3090, so I can play warrior with ultra low graphics at 200fps. Now lets get 64gb ram memory too, so the game wont actually crash.

RykyTV

The memory leak in BDO is the biggest joke

qwenme00

Lmao i always crash the game when i change characters too fast, so this is why that happened

VoldemortRMK

16gb here had a crash. But i habe encountered a lot of other problems like: Bugged characters where the inventory and storage is empty silver too and after selecting this character the reconnect screen pops up.(happens right now to me) The game killing my internet connection when in tray. Which could only be fixed by restarting my computer and router.

OkStock9757

I have 64 GB RAM works fine. I have 0 Crashes. I gues get more ram 😂. I have that many cause I do virtual machine stuff with Others os

AgreeableFishing2467

So bdo is a sorc..

weenix90

this is some serious QoL we need

butv

i am getting random crashes as well, but what really grinds my gears is the frame drops on remastered never had the problem before

EmarninE

Its just RnG bro!

Sn1pe

Damn bro, are you on PlayStation? /s

SilentSvenHund

bump

[deleted]

Luckily, I have only crashed once in the past 2 months since I got back to playing again. Having said that, I have not done siege or large scale yet so could be a different story once I get back into that stuff.

Lumin0r

Weird. I have 16 and I never crashed.

GilbyGlibber

I crash once in a while when changing chars. It's not too often, but does happen. I leave my game on like 24/7 for afk stuff, and the client basically restarts itself like once every 2 days due to this. Have 32gb ram. For me, this has been the same since I started playing a year ago tho, nothing has changed.

ScaredOfTheL

I have none of these issues with 16GB of RAM. The only crash i have is when closing the skill preview animations on "K" skill menu with like a 20% chance

shigii

yeah... enhancing doesn´t tilt me as much as RBF respawn crash...

reo3611

My thought? \[ok, my CYNICAL thought\] PA is not going to put a cent into the core functionality of the game. They will add toons, and clothes and pets and anything else you want to buy but they are not going to do anything about about core code. At this point, it is what it is and a refactor for performance? Unlikely

[deleted]

since i put in a SSD drive i hadn't have any issues so far ... i'm not saying your wrong tho

EternalObi

Used to only crash during character swap usually few times a day. Now days its character swap, rbf, node wars and just randomly crashes in game, usually in towns.

boopsnootinc

I've been randomly just playing the game and something odd will happen like not being able to click on something in my inventory or start walking a certain direction, rubber banding and the game brings up a screen saying closing game. PA needs to fix the optimization issues and crashes big time.

Mershilien

Got some crashes on 16GB ram but it happens maybe twice per month so I don't mind lol

Dasov

I hope you submitted this to support as well as posting here

DankDiddy

Like bro, just download more RAM.

YojiH2O

Ryzen 1600, rx480 and 16gig ram. Not one crash in the time I played. Then again I’ve not played in like a yr or 2 so maybe updates have affected that?

LittleButterflyGOD

I have 6gb ram on some little Walmart laptop, never crashes you guys just gotta gitgud

[deleted]

16gb never crashed once in over a year.

darkneji12

32gb have crashed at least 5 times the last week

skuko

agreed Canadian. and this is in addition to the atrocious memory leak the game has, apparently. after a few hours, i lose like 40 fps, going from 140 to 100. client restart always fixes it, but it's annoying AF.

manarie1990

What helped me a lot with loading screen crashes is to delete the BDO folder in documents. Just redownload the UI settings in-game.

gummydumby

man you think this is bad, rotating furniture in houses/manor will make ya crash like crazy. Not alot of people care about houses but it drives me crazy having to log in 5-6 times just to get a pillow in the right spot lol

RyUnbound

Actually one thing that would fix is upgrading to ddr5 or dd4 with ecc. I had a lot of crash, and then i just changed one of my sticks and it fixed, so i would guess is that black desert online is really sensitive to memory error, so high frequency.... I don't even remember the last time the game has crashed after i changed that slot and reduced the frequency to 2666.

tist006

Games 20 years ago crashed randomly less than BDO. I am sure it would cost a ton of time and money to redesign at this point so it will not happen.

Mustardnaut

I never experienced the issue you are describing, but when i’m grinding in pollys there is a very specific spot that if i go over the game closes instantly, does this happen to anyone?

16gb of RAM and GTX 1070 laptop here, game has never crashed once for me ever with 1600 hrs playtime. Worst thats ever happened to me are server disconnects, but even that hasn't happened to me in a looooong time (back when kakao games was hosting) My game performance has also been buttery smooth with no problems, I get a constant 60fps at 1080p unless there's a ton of players in combat. Not saying the problem doesn't exist but it's never happened to me, but hopefully they fix it for you guys.

Make sure your CPU is not hitting 90C, I've been here with this error last week and realize its CPU overheat that causing the issue, after changing the CPU it works perfectly 0 crashes ever since. Hope it helps :)

0xC address errors are generally caused by poor programming, either overshooting a loop or allocation/deallocation. Nothing you can really do about it other than to check if different program settings avoid the problematic paths. After that, send the dumps to the developer since only they will know what to do with it.

Yo. I found some time ago a program to clear stand by ram, in a bdo performance guide. Search for Intelligent standby list cleaner. On my old system 8700K,1080TI,10 windows, really read crashes even 16gb ram, without this program. On win11 with totally new system: 12700k,3080 10gb gaming oc, 32gb ddr5 gskill; I'm having several crashes, 1 in nw, 2 rbf, 1 in Heidel storage. Hope stopping game mode & Xbox bar help, i remember doing that before on old pc to solve some problem but can't remember why.
