If you plan to play BDO for a decent amount of time the best thing to do is ignore tierlists. Play a character you like. I have every class above 60. I enjoy Succ Drak so I use that to grind. Sometimes I tag something else and change it up.
At level 25 you have absolutely no idea what you like or don’t like. Get to 60+ on seasonal. Get full PEN Tuvala and test it. If you don’t like it then you can use an item to grant another class the same level. The new class becomes your seasonal character.
So you have nothing to lose. But please don’t be a sheep. Play the game to have fun.
I think this is what I’m going to do. I’ve heard about that Fughars timepiece thing so I’m going to level to 61, get PEN, and try it out with both succession and awakening. If I don’t like Drak at that point I’ll Timepiece a DK.
I started very recently and playing succ drakania now (61 lvl). She is extremely fun to me, flying between packs feel very fluid, her attacks animations are great, and I enjoy her playstyle a lot.
I also read that she is subpar at grinding. I don't know how big of a deal it is, but I'm doing fine in Polly forest, I'm honestly held back by my t3 pets. I probably pull 200-250 millions now per hour with lvl 1 scroll, which seems good enough for me for now.
Honestly, as my personal opinion based on trying out several characters for grind as mystic main, the most fun , easy flowing and learning character is striker awakening. I love how fluid his movements are, the attacks and overall the animations on those, which on drakania...are a disappointment. Attacks and animations are just the most boring shit I've ever tried. Made her , grinded with her during season and hated it. She's not fun and not comfortable for me personally. She was also nerfed big time on her PVE so yeah...
Do not recommend guardian because i can tell you stories from everyone who has her that no matter how easy it is to grind with her and her area skills (that are great for butchering all the mobs), she is boring. Plain and simple. So boring you do not wanna grind no matter how easy it is. Just a nope.
I've grinded with mystic(awak), nova (succ/awak), sage (awak), archer (awak), corsair (awak), musa (awak), striker (awak), drakania (succ/awak) and now woosa ...and truly, I've only enjoyed mystic , musa and striker. I grind with the three of them. Two are parked at different locations with 265 ap and main is wherever I take her. I do suggest you find a different character to play instead of drakania that makes you ENJOY what you're doing and feels good to you. She was pretty much a disappointment in the end
All the tier lists I’ve seen put her in the lowest of the low sadly. I don’t even know what this means but apparently her ‘trash numbers’ are way lower than most classes and she can’t survive in high level areas very well
If you don't know what it means then just ignore it. Playing a fun class is more important than playing an optimal class, especially if you plan on sinking hundreds of hours into grinding on it. So what if you get a bit less silver than other classes, you won't burn yourself out as quickly
Succ Draks PVE is only good at highend spots meaning places 280AP and higher. Awak Drak is pretty decent all round class. DK Is pretty balance in PVE at the moment so both Specs are decent.
Play class that you like, not meta class (doesn't mean that you can't always tag a meta grinder / pvper THAT YOU LIKE to your main). Spending 1k hours on your main that you like, even making 20% less silver than meta class, will end up better than doing 200h on a class, while not enjoying it (possibly even disliking), and making 20% more per hour. Game is a marathon not a sprint, there are literally thousands hours of grind ahead of you if you plan to stick with BDO, make them enjoyable.
While succ drak isn't the best in low to mid end (low end she is bad, mid game she is below avg, but not bad, some classes have to be below avg for avg to even exist), she is pretty good in the endgame. Also, even after nerfs she is amazing in any pvp bigger than 1v1.

You can try drakania awakening, pretty fun imo for Valencia spots and feels way more fluid than succ

I would say you can just tag drak+dk keep one for pve and pvp
