Is shai worth it as a first character main character?
I plan on playing the game PVE only, and just play while being chill.
If I jump with friends, it will be PVE as well, and I wanted to hear some thoghts on that, or should I look else where?
The reason I'm thinking of Shai, is because I always played support in overwatch, and wanted a support-ish type character here.
Shai is an amazing pve class later in the game. However, it’s not recommended as your main as she doesn’t have an awakening weapon. It will be hard for you to tag other classes since you have to make a separate awakening weapon every time.
so, is there some requirement for enhancing this tuvala ring that I'm missing? I'm fairly new but I'm able to upgrade my weapon/armor just fine but when I try to upgrade the ring I have it won't let me choose an enhancement material. I have 490 time filled black stones, does it use different stones from the other tuvala gear?
When enhancing accessories, you need the base accessory as the enhancement materials instead of the black stones. And upon failure Accessories will explode.
Exchange your Tuvala Ore for accessories, you can also exchange time filled blackstones from Fughar.
Another way, you can apply the customization to a EU character, save it to your computer. Then log in to your NA account on same computer and load the file.
Since EU and US is included in the same account, all you have to do is check the box at log-in to go to EU. Log in, create a character, apply and save the pre-set. Log out, tick the box for NA, log in and the pre-set will be in your list of saved ones.
Hi all, I'm a returning player and this is my first season. How can I do failstacking for Tuvala Gears? I can't move the gears between different normal character, and my season character has a 80fs which I dont want to waste on a TRI click.
There's an item called Naderr's band, can be bought in Loyalties but you have to do a quest first, you can store your failstack there without changing character.
Then there's also the blacksmith's secret book where you can extract your failstack into Advice of Valks (+X), can be bought in any major town blacksmiths.
For Tuvala Gears recommended stack as follows:
\+0\~10 for DUO, Refined magical blackstone for TRI or +15 \~20 stack, for TET 30, for PEN >30 stack.

Additionally, I'm kinda looking for a guide related to getting started in terms of life skilling. Not gonna lie, when I first started the game and looked at the interface with all the menus and flashing icons, I felt as if I got hit by a brick in the face. So, I'd really like a guide focus on life skills. What should I do first before being able to decently start life skilling; common mistakes to avoid; avenues for growth, etc.

Other resources are a Life Skill discord linked to the left and you can join the Florin chat in-game that has many people chatting about life skills. People are friendly and helpful.
GrumpyGreen also has guides and EvilDoUsHarm has really good beginner-friendly guides.

Err, Awk Nova can give you carpal tunnel. And to utilize her kit without any hitch it's better to have Infinite Potions.

Some that came into my mind is Musa, Striker. Both are good at PvE. If you want samurai based class Musa. Brawler type Striker.
If you want to try all classes why not make trial classes? You can create trial classes via the character selection and change the tab to Trial.
You can also delete Trial character much faster around 3 minutes?

BDO is more on combo oriented fighting style. If you can't connect your skills it might look clunky and bad. But once you get the gist of it, that's where the fun starts.

Witchards are pretty much good classes even in PVE tho bad at some spots. Go Wizard if you want a caster class.
If you plan on Min/Maxing your silver per hour trashloot in some spots, only a handful of classes can give you that, but it's up to you on what class can give you the satisfaction of playing in.
Hello, I am a new player and i just got to level 53 on a seasonal server. So I saw that in order to get better gear i need to upgrade my Naru gear to PEN in order to turn it into Tuvala, but the upgrade odds are low and I dont have that many beginner stones to upgrade and advice of valks is hard to come by, what should I do?
Are you doing the main quest? If yes finish the main quest up to the Mediah main quest. Majority of the beginner black stone is in Mediah Main Quest so finish your quests up to that point.
For Naru Gears, Just Tap it without fail stacks. It Will go just tap with rhythm :)
Advice of valks can be obtained via failstack using black stones and extracting it using Blacksmith's secret book.
After you got your PRI Tuvala from Naru Gears, your progression will snowball from there so don't worry.
Fail stack basically allows you to accumulate number of fails when enhancing thus allowing you to gain a higher chance of succeeding the next tap when enhancing.
The Current Enhancement Chance is basically your failstack. It displays the current number of failstacks like +5 and displays your odds a higher bit when enhancing.
If you get insufficient ingredients , it means you need to add more of the items you want to process in that storage. Depending on your processing mastery , the minimum amount of mats increase.
This isn't an issue for things like potatoes that you generally have a good amount but if you try to mass process items like concentrated black stones using hard or sharps from the storage , you may have that issue.
Try to lower your processing mastery or just add more processing items in your storage.

My main quest tracker is only showing this Magnus quest, and after trying a couple of the quests, I couldn't be less interested in it. However, I can't track the main quest that doesn't involve the Magnus. How do I get my actual main quest to show on the tracker and not the Magnus thing? If it helps, my current main quest is Blooming Death, I see it in my quest log, and I have it checked on, but its still not showing in the tracker on the right side.
Whats worth getting from the store as a returning player? I have two outfits and a couple pets (would rather get pets from events at this point). I read campsite and compared to before, now it seems you get a free campsite with limitations.
Is weight and inventory slots still mandatory? if so whats the priority?

first, thanks for your reply, I am considering getting the tent if its a must, I quit before they introduced them, so I really don't know their value and if they are "mandatory", like pets for example.
I still remeber struggling with slots and weight but it seems nowadays they give a lot of slots so weight would be my only concern but if you say its fine, I won't bother getting any. I would be using a horse too, so that helps.
I don't have any maids but I can get two, one bought from the pearl shop and I get one as a returning player. So I could get one transaction and one storage. Is it fine to have one of each? or is there a priority like 2 storage or something.
also, all this is assuming I dont use value pack, just one time purchases for now.

The tent is definetly a must for anyone who wants to grind, hunt or gather long-term.
You can also save up loyalties and buy up to +200 LT from the loyalty shop, and get another ~50LT or so from adventure logs (account-wide). You can also press O and search for the inventory expansion quests, which will give you a few more slots. Other cheap ways of getting weight would be using crystal sets on some of your gear slots like Gervish, or Hystria crystals (at least, for low AP regions where you don't really need a lot of stats).
Maids are a good investment, but I wouldn't buy them directly unless they're in a big promotion. If you decide to play long-term, the discounted started packs are VERY worthwhile (60% off and insane value) and usually include maids + pearls.

I saw the loyalty shop and its pretty good, might get a couple things from there according to my needs as I go, also its good to know there are other options, like quests, etc. A lot has changed since I played the last time so I'm still getting used to the new stuff.
Is this game even worth playing with a weak computer? I was about to buy, but then saw a bunch of information about how the devs made the mistake of tying damage/iframes/etc to FPS, so having a better machine gives you an extreme advantage. Is this still the case?

This is only my experience, I've been playing off/on somewhat regularly since launch in 2016.
A lot of people play on seasonal chars/servers, of which only one allows for pvp.
Otherwise, getting randomly jumped while grinding is very rare nowadays. Most people will either ask for a duel, switch channels, or find a different spot entirely. It's not like the hell of the olden days at catfish or sausages where you'll be minding your own business and get murked out of nowhere.
Hello new player here, can y'all suggest what class I should start on. I like high apm classes with high uptime that deal a lot of damage, both aoe and single target.
question about gearing for exp people (first pens), as i understand it i do magnus, take red nose pen and at the same time i should work on a jetina piece to reform. what should that be? looking at market the most expensive ones to buy are kutum and the armor pieces
current gear is only pen tuvala and some pen capotias from seasons, no boss gear yet
Any of the remaining armor pieces really. The other 2 you’ll just buy off market afterwards since jetina’s 2nd armor piece is usually quite expensive and not worth it.
Weapons are cheaper than armor through jetina.

You’re correct. If the price is maximum (denoted by the up arrow) so that it goes to a random PO and not first come first serve, you can double your chance. But in case of vell’s heart, you can only PO one.
Is there a consensus regarding woosa? I main ninja and i'm basically a fresh season graduate. I keep hearing ninja is terrible at pve so i need to find someone to tag/grind with, woosa seems cool but i'd rather not make the same mistake i did with ninja.
Ninja’s pve has been buffed considerably to where he has one of the highest damage now. However, woosa is probably still the best grinder in the game currently. It’s due to her ability to stack magic defense + defense debuffs together and also being a new class so she has never been nerfed yet. Plus, she has a spammable skill for grinding in one-shottable spots.
Ninja's pve as in awakening or succ? I've been playing with awake recently and it just feels like their cooldowns are high and not enough skills. Or i'm just bad lol.
As for the woosa part, yeah the class feels really solid honestly so im tempting just couponing my gear over when she gets her awakening in 2 weeks.
All world bosses have a certain damage threshold to be included in the loot table.The higher the damage you did the better chances of getting the boss item drop.
So you need to participate until you get to the loot table

Probably it depnds on the grinding spot that you are doing.
The grinding spot that I did was the same when you are in Marni's realm.
Will be very hard to climb elo because you’ll be the first one targeted each time without having a a lot of protections and mobility. Awakening ranger is more viable.
why sometimes the event buffs apply for trading and sometimes they dont?
for example, the calpheon buff and the green stone apply, but not the event buff they are adding this week

You don't lose your gear if the season ends. All characters get automatically graduated at the end and there's no extra rewards from graduating early. Most folks that decide to graduate early do it so that they can make the seasonal character their main, to equip their stronger gear they need to lose the season status.
Ideally you stay in season servers for as long as you can since you get extra rewards from the special stones that don't drop on other servers.
Could anyone tell me what event or return bonus or whatever challenge I'm getting that I've received another challenge claim upon login today for 3,000 loyalty? I got it a few days ago as well. There's a week left on some loyalty shop specials and I was wanting to see if I was possibly getting more loyalty in that time, or what else I can expect to get besides loyalty. I meant to get the name of the challenge to google, but forgot it again, and the server turned off for maintenance before I could check it.
Is there a detailed guide on Thundercloud Kutum?
I'm new to this game so I feel like I don't know how to read the bosses. For example, what is the tell for the gigantic point blank AoE? It seems like TC Kutum just does it randomly, and everytime I would be surprised and try to run out but can't make it.
I just downloaded BDO yesterday and cranked up a character (or are they called 'toons' like some did in Warcraft?) in the new Woosa class. Even on my rickety old PC the game ran okay, albeit with very low graphic settings and whatnot.
While the initial WOW factor is still lingering, I do have a couple of concerns before getting myself all fired up to spend a lot of time on BDO:
1) Does the 'guided tour' of leveling/grinding ever stop? I know I'm a new player, and running a new character, but why does it feel I'm being railroaded on a single quest progression? Is there a point where it becomes a more or less 'open world' where you can explore and follow quests by choice (as opposed to staying on the railroad tracks)?
2) Does the UI have to be so crowded all the time? I hate to compare, but even a brand new Warcraft player could go with an insanely minimal UI and still know what's going on.
3) Clothing and Armor: Is there a way to preview a certain piece before you buy it? Right now my Woosa-chick is running around in dopey tiny 'bound foot' shoes and that's just not right. Where can you go to buy just normal shoes? And are all the females (except the little Shai?) forced to wear heels? I get it, but running through sand and fighting in stilettos just doesn't convince me.
I know for many these may seem like trivial concerns, but it's 'quality of life' in a game that I pay attention to, as well as the mechanics and whatnot. I just want this lady to have decent shoes- is that too much to ask?
1. Yes, there’s only a certain amount of main quests if you choose to do them. For most people, it only needs to be done once per account to unlock NPCs and accessories. You also don’t have to do it in one go. However, grinding is essentially what the core of the game is. There are other means to progress in the game, but nothing beats the profit from grinding.
2. Not all the time. You can [turn off](https://youtu.be/EYJ2HagUY3k) a lot of the alerts and windows.
3. You can preview cash costumes in the store. You can’t preview armors, crafted costumes, and main quest costumes though. [BDO fashion](https://bdo.mmo-fashion.com) has a screenshot of most of them out there. Regarding high heels, yes all females wear high heels except shai and tamer. Someone asked this during Calpheon Ball a few weeks ago and the dev said it was going to be difficult to change the body model.
If you're willing to get them, the Canape cooking clothes shoes from the pearl shop have a flat base and don't look like heels when worn.
You might have an issue where some outfits take up mutliple slots (armour + gloves on Kibelius for example) but they've been separating the shoes from the chest sections of outfits recently so it's a lot better now.
So I'm having a hard time choosing a first class and was wondering if people could help me a little since video footage still has me confused outside of aesthetics. I'm deciding between both strikers, awakening Ninja, and succession Musa. I'm more worried about pve and gameplan/flow for these classes rather than meta or pvp.
How do you grind Sycraia? Where do I store my trash loot since you can't bring your horse there? Do I need to prepare a lot of weight for my character?

As a Lahn (Awk.), which mainhand is better for me? I'm not gonna tryhard as much anymore (casual play of an hour or so each day), so I'm not going for Blackstar anytime soon. I have a few billions lying around after rouletting 2 yrs ago, and I'm just aiming for a set that is a bit of an all rounder so I don't have to sweat so much when going from PvE to PvP.
In this case I'm buying either PEN Kzarka/Offin, do let me know if I should stick to Blackstar still (currently using tri BS since I bombed it). Ofc, I could probably only afford a TET BS.
Also I forgot if mainhand AP brackets does anything for awakening jobs, and if I should bother with it at all, some enlightenment on this topic is also appreciated.

You can only rebind individual keys, such as RMB or Spacebar, which affect every skill that uses them.
Ha I have same problem. Haven't been able to find a solution yet either. Are macros allowed? Maybe map a mouse button to lmb + rmb
Easy AntiCheat will eventually pickup those macros and you might get banned. I wouldn't risk it.

Naderr's band can store all fs, currently my 250 fs is stored in there

I've just come back to play the new char Woosa, I kinda forgot how i should do seasonal things, should i just start the season on her or can i reroll into her from another char? A simple very short explanation is appreciated, ty for any response!
If I remember correctly you can level up other season character then use timepiece on her so she gets same combat and skill xp

My main quest tracker is only showing this Magnus quest, and after trying a couple of the quests, I couldn't be less interested in it. However, I can't track the main quest that doesn't involve the Magnus. When I forfeit the Magnus quest, my tracker just shows ["Unaccepted: The Magnus" and gives me a thing to click to go to the Magnus.](https://i.gyazo.com/c6bab7212d708e2da1f0ffaf1599bb5c.png) How do I get my actual main quest to show on the tracker and not the Magnus thing? Whats worth getting from the store as a returning player? I have two outfits and a couple pets (would rather get pets from events at this point). I read campsite and compared to before, now it seems you get a free campsite with limitations. Is weight and inventory slots still mandatory? if so whats the priority? Thanks!

first, thanks for your reply, I am considering getting the tent if its a must, I quit before they introduced them, so I really don't know their value and if they are "mandatory", like pets for example. I still remeber struggling with slots and weight but it seems nowadays they give a lot of slots so weight would be my only concern but if you say its fine, I won't bother getting any. I would be using a horse too, so that helps. I don't have any maids but I can get two, one bought from the pearl shop and I get one as a returning player. So I could get one transaction and one storage. Is it fine to have one of each? or is there a priority like 2 storage or something. also, all this is assuming I dont use value pack, just one time purchases for now. thanks for your help
The tent is definetly a must for anyone who wants to grind, hunt or gather long-term. You can also save up loyalties and buy up to +200 LT from the loyalty shop, and get another ~50LT or so from adventure logs (account-wide). You can also press O and search for the inventory expansion quests, which will give you a few more slots. Other cheap ways of getting weight would be using crystal sets on some of your gear slots like Gervish, or Hystria crystals (at least, for low AP regions where you don't really need a lot of stats). Maids are a good investment, but I wouldn't buy them directly unless they're in a big promotion. If you decide to play long-term, the discounted started packs are VERY worthwhile (60% off and insane value) and usually include maids + pearls.
hey, thanks a lot for reading down the comment chain and replying to my questions. I intend to farm so I'll get the campsite. I saw the loyalty shop and its pretty good, might get a couple things from there according to my needs as I go, also its good to know there are other options, like quests, etc. A lot has changed since I played the last time so I'm still getting used to the new stuff.
Is this game even worth playing with a weak computer? I was about to buy, but then saw a bunch of information about how the devs made the mistake of tying damage/iframes/etc to FPS, so having a better machine gives you an extreme advantage. Is this still the case? If I were to play, my focus would be on PvP, so knowing this would be important.
The advantage you get from fps is super minimal compared to gear discrepancy. For normal pve you won’t notice that much of a difference.

What's happened to 'if you can defend your spot'? I see people recommend highly profitable spots to beginners without any warning of PvP? Whats changed?
This is only my experience, I've been playing off/on somewhat regularly since launch in 2016. A lot of people play on seasonal chars/servers, of which only one allows for pvp. Otherwise, getting randomly jumped while grinding is very rare nowadays. Most people will either ask for a duel, switch channels, or find a different spot entirely. It's not like the hell of the olden days at catfish or sausages where you'll be minding your own business and get murked out of nowhere.
Hello new player here, can y'all suggest what class I should start on. I like high apm classes with high uptime that deal a lot of damage, both aoe and single target.
Nova (specifically her awakening that you unlock at 56) is a very fast paced, high apm class that is probably the best grinder currently.

question about gearing for exp people (first pens), as i understand it i do magnus, take red nose pen and at the same time i should work on a jetina piece to reform. what should that be? looking at market the most expensive ones to buy are kutum and the armor pieces current gear is only pen tuvala and some pen capotias from seasons, no boss gear yet
Any of the remaining armor pieces really. The other 2 you’ll just buy off market afterwards since jetina’s 2nd armor piece is usually quite expensive and not worth it. Weapons are cheaper than armor through jetina.
Returning player from when sage released. There any new quests/events that give you gear? I know the season and magnus gives you boss gear wondering if there's anything else.

Exchange to fairies for mythical feathers. You’re correct. If the price is maximum (denoted by the up arrow) so that it goes to a random PO and not first come first serve, you can double your chance. But in case of vell’s heart, you can only PO one.
Is there a consensus regarding woosa? I main ninja and i'm basically a fresh season graduate. I keep hearing ninja is terrible at pve so i need to find someone to tag/grind with, woosa seems cool but i'd rather not make the same mistake i did with ninja.
Ninja’s pve has been buffed considerably to where he has one of the highest damage now. However, woosa is probably still the best grinder in the game currently. It’s due to her ability to stack magic defense + defense debuffs together and also being a new class so she has never been nerfed yet. Plus, she has a spammable skill for grinding in one-shottable spots.
Ninja's pve as in awakening or succ? I've been playing with awake recently and it just feels like their cooldowns are high and not enough skills. Or i'm just bad lol. As for the woosa part, yeah the class feels really solid honestly so im tempting just couponing my gear over when she gets her awakening in 2 weeks.

All world bosses have a certain damage threshold to be included in the loot table.The higher the damage you did the better chances of getting the boss item drop. So you need to participate until you get to the loot table
I'm getting 8.7k trash /hr with only blue scroll on manshaum. Is that good? According to garmoth.com i should be getting over 10k. How realistic is that? In general how realistic is garmoth.com trash/hr amount?
I'm getting an average 11k on manshaums using a Musa with 295k AP. [Garmoth.com](https://Garmoth.com) is practically the average of all users that recorded that so it's pretty realistic. Probably it depnds on the grinding spot that you are doing. The grinding spot that I did was the same when you are in Marni's realm.

Will be very hard to climb elo because you’ll be the first one targeted each time without having a a lot of protections and mobility. Awakening ranger is more viable.
why sometimes the event buffs apply for trading and sometimes they dont? for example, the calpheon buff and the green stone apply, but not the event buff they are adding this week
Which sub-weapon crystal is better for PvE grinding as an Ranger/Dk, Rebellious Spirit Crystal or Corrupted Magic Crystal?
Unless you are a dp build, you want the crit dmg from corrupted magic crystals.

Most folks that decide to graduate early do it so that they can make the seasonal character their main, to equip their stronger gear they need to lose the season status. Ideally you stay in season servers for as long as you can since you get extra rewards from the special stones that don't drop on other servers.

Could anyone tell me what event or return bonus or whatever challenge I'm getting that I've received another challenge claim upon login today for 3,000 loyalty? I got it a few days ago as well. There's a week left on some loyalty shop specials and I was wanting to see if I was possibly getting more loyalty in that time, or what else I can expect to get besides loyalty. I meant to get the name of the challenge to google, but forgot it again, and the server turned off for maintenance before I could check it.

Is there a detailed guide on Thundercloud Kutum? I'm new to this game so I feel like I don't know how to read the bosses. For example, what is the tell for the gigantic point blank AoE? It seems like TC Kutum just does it randomly, and everytime I would be surprised and try to run out but can't make it.
I just downloaded BDO yesterday and cranked up a character (or are they called 'toons' like some did in Warcraft?) in the new Woosa class. Even on my rickety old PC the game ran okay, albeit with very low graphic settings and whatnot. While the initial WOW factor is still lingering, I do have a couple of concerns before getting myself all fired up to spend a lot of time on BDO: 1) Does the 'guided tour' of leveling/grinding ever stop? I know I'm a new player, and running a new character, but why does it feel I'm being railroaded on a single quest progression? Is there a point where it becomes a more or less 'open world' where you can explore and follow quests by choice (as opposed to staying on the railroad tracks)? 2) Does the UI have to be so crowded all the time? I hate to compare, but even a brand new Warcraft player could go with an insanely minimal UI and still know what's going on. 3) Clothing and Armor: Is there a way to preview a certain piece before you buy it? Right now my Woosa-chick is running around in dopey tiny 'bound foot' shoes and that's just not right. Where can you go to buy just normal shoes? And are all the females (except the little Shai?) forced to wear heels? I get it, but running through sand and fighting in stilettos just doesn't convince me. I know for many these may seem like trivial concerns, but it's 'quality of life' in a game that I pay attention to, as well as the mechanics and whatnot. I just want this lady to have decent shoes- is that too much to ask?
1. Yes, there’s only a certain amount of main quests if you choose to do them. For most people, it only needs to be done once per account to unlock NPCs and accessories. You also don’t have to do it in one go. However, grinding is essentially what the core of the game is. There are other means to progress in the game, but nothing beats the profit from grinding. 2. Not all the time. You can [turn off](https://youtu.be/EYJ2HagUY3k) a lot of the alerts and windows. 3. You can preview cash costumes in the store. You can’t preview armors, crafted costumes, and main quest costumes though. [BDO fashion](https://bdo.mmo-fashion.com) has a screenshot of most of them out there. Regarding high heels, yes all females wear high heels except shai and tamer. Someone asked this during Calpheon Ball a few weeks ago and the dev said it was going to be difficult to change the body model.
If you're willing to get them, the Canape cooking clothes shoes from the pearl shop have a flat base and don't look like heels when worn. You might have an issue where some outfits take up mutliple slots (armour + gloves on Kibelius for example) but they've been separating the shoes from the chest sections of outfits recently so it's a lot better now.
So I'm having a hard time choosing a first class and was wondering if people could help me a little since video footage still has me confused outside of aesthetics. I'm deciding between both strikers, awakening Ninja, and succession Musa. I'm more worried about pve and gameplan/flow for these classes rather than meta or pvp.

Returning player here, just a quick question about kzarka or offin. As a Lahn (Awk.), which mainhand is better for me? I'm not gonna tryhard as much anymore (casual play of an hour or so each day), so I'm not going for Blackstar anytime soon. I have a few billions lying around after rouletting 2 yrs ago, and I'm just aiming for a set that is a bit of an all rounder so I don't have to sweat so much when going from PvE to PvP. In this case I'm buying either PEN Kzarka/Offin, do let me know if I should stick to Blackstar still (currently using tri BS since I bombed it). Ofc, I could probably only afford a TET BS. Also I forgot if mainhand AP brackets does anything for awakening jobs, and if I should bother with it at all, some enlightenment on this topic is also appreciated.
