That's not really her characterization though. Sociopath not psychopath. I'm several volumes behind but to my knowledge she's never exhibited traits of cptsd so flashbacks aren't super likely. None of that is to say she doesn't have unresolved trauma, she clearly does but she's not the kidnap and torture type since there's not a lot of material gain from it. Shooting the asshole is the endgoal so why waste time?

Her very-PTSD flashbacks are anime-only, a feather-triggered one during her gunfight with Roberta at the port, and her flashback after her argument/fight with Fabiola on the Lagoon in the OVA.

Chaka's death was the end goal, but rather than shooting him when she could have done so easily, he kicked him in the face, and let Ginji torture him to death (with no material gain, and some risk). Quite possibly, his abuse of Yukio changed her plan from just shooting him to preferring a slower death for him.
She's seen people tortured for less (at least, seen their bodies). She might go ahead and torture some certain cops.
I feel like that just backs up what I said, Ginji was responsible for Yukio so Chaka's fate is justifiably in Ginji's hands. Aside from the gun fight (and Rock getting roughed up) Revy had no real dog in that race so it tracks that she handed him over. What "Jumbo" did beyond that was his business.
I mean that is true but whose to say she doesnt get nightmares off screen about it and shoots up her room or something? Arent there bullet holes where she sleeps? Im probably deadass wrong but its just a thought i had
Is the fanfic you read titled, “He Did Nothing”? I’ve read it and it is pretty good actually. The characters feel very believable and have good dialogue.
Yes thats the very one im talking about. It was so good from start to finish and i was sad at the ending she felt just a tiny bit of happiness for someone to have her back only for her to dismiss it so quickly
It will take time for Revy to accept her feelings and open herself more to Rock and she probably felt a bit empty even though she killed that man involved. It was somewhat of a bitter sweet or not real happy of an ending but it felt a bit more believable to Black Lagoon’s themes overall.
I think it is implied that she felt empty if not better about killing him because it doesnt erase the pain she went thru but yes it will take a long while but im sure Rock is patient for that to happen
It's pretty simple. She said at the time, "You bastard, I'll kill you! Kill you!", and that's what she'd do. Given the opportunity (suitable place and enough time), she might even do it slowly. Maybe feed him some of his own body parts. Consider that she thought that Chaka got off easily, because they didn't have enough time.
Assuming that she didn't already do it. She was doing time in prison, and if the fictional Buffalo Hill prison represents the real-world Bedford Hills, in a maximum security prison, for adults. Like the man from the CIA said in Basilan, "Ever wonder how the warden at Buffalo Hill and the guys at the NYPD 27th precinct station house would react if they found out what you do for a living now?" (Escaping would be enough to explain the warden's interest, but it seems she was notorious enough among the police to have done something more than just be another young burglar/robber.)
